Forgot 3 parts, been more than 2 month w/o parts

"I don’t feel like writing a whole book on how awful this company is so I’ll just say avoid it if you’re looking to purchase a custom PC. If you are planning on spending a couple grand on a new rig go somewhere else. Their customer service is awful. You won’t hear back from your “contact” for a week. I’m still waiting on my audio card and I bought my PC back in the beginning of October. I’ve talked with 4 different people and none of them could figure it out. "

Crappy company

"I just was looking for a computer so I decided to go with this company. Shipping took forever!! Months and months. It’s understandable because of Covid, I get that, but once the computer arrived I still had to wait a looong time for the monitor to arrive separately. Once I got that I put it together and the ram wasn’t working so I called them to see if I could get it replaced and they said I could I would just have to pay 250 dollars and they would refund that as soon as they got the faulty ram. We’ll it’s been about 1 month or more and I called them to see what was going with the refund and no one knows they said they would get back to me. Called again today and no one knows. They don’t care. Crap customer service. It’s so confusing no one knows what they’re doing and they can’t even give you a frikin refund.
I do not recommend buying anything here.

Ghosted me on email and voicemail on a $5300 order

"Ordered 3/16 and was advised 4/26 estimated ship date. Like the Sutton review, I've had the same experience. It's not clear how to cancel the order and no one will get back to me to confirm how I can cancel the order since with no communication it's almost like I don't have an order with them. My sales rep Arturo was responsive but has since gone silent. I went with Origin as they had previously gotten great reviews. This has begun to sour me on both Origin and their parent company Corsair.

UPDATE 8/5/2021
After posting my original review communication from Origin picked up. Unfortunately, that communication did NOT include information such as when it shipped. I had no idea that an attempt to deliver failed the first day but luckily my roommate actually heard the second attempt. I literally found out that my system build had been completed, shipped, and received only when I happen to go into my garage to find the wooden crate sitting there. I've never seen that happen.......EVER!

Enough about that. The system was VERY, WELL packaged and protected. I needed a drill with a Phillips bit to unscrew the long screws holding the wooden case together. The cardboard packaged system inside had no sign of damage. I was able to unpack the system and put on my desk. I opened up the case and check all components and cabling. An expanding foam insert was used in shipping to keep parts from bouncing around and shaking loose. All cable connections were solid and no leaks from the All in One water cooling system was seen.

Despite all that came before getting the system, a lot can be said for getting a great system. Origin not only found me a RTX-3090 for my system but it is a Founders Edition. When the original motherboard could not be acquired they upgraded me to the next best board up in the line. The system did not come with a bunch of bloatware either. I ran into Windows issues but that was more on Microsoft limitations with their Home edition. I wiped the system and reinstalled Win10 Pro and updated all drivers. The overclocked settings requested as part of the build were a bit on the conservative side but is understandable from a stability perspective.

I updated my rating significantly as I believe it to be accurate once you take into account the world-wide disruption of semi-conductor chip supplies.

L-Class Studio desktop arrived broken. Monitor, speakers, and extras never showed up.

"I do not recommend Origin PC.

As a developer and video editor I need a high-speed workstation, and Origin's L-Class Studio desktop was a great fit. Origin's focus on "great customer support" also appealed to me. I configured my L-Class Studio, entered my credit card info, and things went downhill from there.

My initial order date was April 6th. Here is an overview of what happened:

April 6th - April 28th: SALES

A day or so after I ordered my PC I got an email from a sales rep saying my credit card didn't go through. I figured my credit card's company flagged the activity, but Chase said they hadn't received a charge at all. I asked the sales rep if I could use another payment method. He said that wasn't possible despite the checkout page of the site accepting everything from wire transfers to graduated payments. I asked if he could rerun the card and did not get a message for 2 weeks.

During that 2 week span I tried both sending emails and calling the support line. Calling the support line eventually got me a person that tried to rerun the cards (around April 24th) and this still didn't work. No one was able to give me a concrete reason why any of this was happening (including Chase) and so I took matters into my own hands and ordered a second L-Class Studio using a wire transfer. This time it worked!

That's when I thought my problems were over, but things continued to get worse.

April 30th - June 9th: BUILDING

Like many companies, Origin has been impacted by COVID. For that reason I don't fault them for their 42-day building time.

June 9th - June 16th: SHIPPING DEPARTMENT

On June 9th I got an email that my L-Class Studio had entered the shipping department that claimed "The shipping team will carefully pack your system, accessories, and extras." I was getting a bit anxious at this point because I had to leave town for a work conference. The sales guy asked about my custom etching at this time, which I turned down to save time. Despite this, the computer didn't ship for another 7 days.

June 16th - July 7th: ARRIVAL

The computer arrived the day before I left in this cool crate with the Origin logo emblazoned on the side. The crate seemed large enough to hold the computer AND all of my accessories. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to unpack the box before my flight. While I was away I readied my After Effects and Premiere Pro projects to be transferred to the computer.

July 7th to present: THE DESOLATION OF MY L-CLASS STUDIO

There are 3 steps to opening an Origin crate: open the top, open the side, and remove the packing foam from inside the desktop. After removing the top and side I could tell something was wrong - specifically, everything that wasn't the desktop was missing. No monitor, no speakers, no mousepad or hoodie. Since I had been there the day the PC arrived I knew no other packages had come. Then I tried to remove the packing foam from inside the desktop and discovered to my horror that there was none. THEY SHIPPED A $12,000 COMPUTER WITH NO INNER PACKING FOAM!

I looked inside the computer and the Nvidia RTX 3090 was crooked, it's weight causing the card's metal frame to bend and the PCI connectors to chafe against the motherboard. Terrified, I took pictures of all of this, starting to realize the only person I knew at Origin was my sales rep that didn't answer emails. I tried to place the GPU in the damaged PCI slot and realized it was futile - attempting anything more could give Origin reason to not repair the damage they did.

ORIGIN'S "SOLUTION"

I called the 24-hour customer support line that night and got hold music. I tried again next morning and got a representative that told me I'd need to send the computer back for repairs or ask for a refund. I felt pressured to make this decision immediately by the rep, who gave me an RMA number and told me it would be 3 WEEKS at the least. Here's the unacceptable part: this rep told me that the monitor, etc. are sent by a 3rd party and I should keep waiting for them. It has now been about 3 weeks since the desktop arrived. Furthermore, Origin's own email stated their shipping department was "carefully pack[ing] your system, accessories, and extras." Now I'm no rocket scientist, but I'd guess that the same people that forgot to put the packing foam in the $12,000 desktop are probably the same people that didn't remember to pack the extras and monitor.

NEXT STEPS

I've opted for a 'repair', but this is because I'm afraid. Since I used a wire transfer to get the money to Origin it will take some serious legal action to get it back and I don't consider these folks trustworthy. While they can repair my computer, I don't know what to do about the monitor and speakers. They've effectively stolen those from me and I will file complaints with the BBB and whatever else I can. I'm honestly still hoping Origin tries to make this right. But until then, I hope you will remember my story and tell everyone you know to avoid this sketchy company.

I feel like I got scammed

"I ordered a pc from OriginPC on April 20th with a shipping date of May 18th. Around May 16th I believe I got an email saying it was being delayed. A couple weeks later Around the beginning of June I get a message saying within the next 2 weeks my system should ship. That was the last message I've received. I've messaged them 3 times since trying to find out what was going on. No response. It's been 5 weeks since the within 2 weeks message. No changes on my account at all. Still says "Order Created" so they haven't even started getting the parts. Its been almost 3 months and I spent $3,954 on a pc yet no reply no information and no idea if I'm ever going to receive the pc I ordered. I just feel like I've been scammed or robbed. But of course there's no way to know I didn't due to the fact they don't reply. Worst buying experience I have ever had in my life to be honest."

Deadline issues and no communication

"I placed an order for a new PC from Origin on 3-22-2021. They "estimated" it would ship on the 16th of April. Perfectly fine with that no problems. They write to me and give me weekly updates which were obviously just bots or a pre drafted chain of messages. For 3 weeks I get a message saying everything is fine, and then comes the week of the 16th and all of a sudden they are having issues and it could take an additional two weeks before shipping could resume. Perfectly reasonable, even though i find it odd they planned on having a custom computer designed, crafted, put together and tested in the span of 2 days. But again I understand delays happen. So the 27th rolls around which is the Monday of the 2 week extension and I basically get ghosted and told "we will update you when it ships" no timeframe, no options, and now here we are May 7th with no further idea as to when or if my computer will ship. Terrible customer service."

Problem solvers.

"Great customer service. Had a lot of issues with this order but the customer service team took care of everything.

The issues were.
1. Website not updating. When you create and order there is a status section for tracking progress. This never updated to the point that I called to cancel my order. Which was my first contact with customer support. Where he explained everything was on track. Glad I didn't cancel.

2. Error in shipping information. I had to ship the pc to a different location than my home. Put in the right address, but not city or county..oops. customer support was on top of getting that fixed. Only slow part was on UPS's end

3. Once received, on the second day. While troubleshooting a small issue. The front glass panel shattered. Nothing hit it. Door was being slowly closed. However, pow! Glass everywhere. One email and address verification later. New panel already on the way. The small issue i was troubleshooting was the SSD on the device not showing up. Just had to rename it in the disk manager.

Possible bad experience fixed by great customer service.

First experience was perfect

"Placed an order with OriginPC for a build that utilized some of the most powerful components manufactured at the present time. I normally build my own PCs but the parts were very hard to obtain in these difficult times without paying exorbitantly inflated prices (if you could find the components at all.) Origin was offering precisely the parts I had in mind for very reasonable prices in comparison to the general parts market. They even accommodated a CPU change I decided to make at the last minute. Bottom line: Not only did they deliver on every hard-to-find component but delivered the finished build in a timely manner. Actually saved me money in the long run and saved me the job of assembly. Very impressed."

Absolutely amazing customer service and technical support.

"I normally would have built my own system, but parts are hard to come by these days for consumers.

I decided to spec out a system from Origin, and watched as it went through the process to build and test. Once it shipped, I got really excited. Unfortunately, when I went to boot, it wouldn't post.

However, the Origin tech support team (several members) was amazing, and confirmed my own diagnosis as to the issue (MOBO bad). I shipped my PC back and they were able to confirm first hand and correct the issue. In a fair amount of time, I received my build with a new MOBO, and it has exceeded my every expectation.

I fully expect that this system will play every AAA game at the highest settings for... well... probably the next decade or so.

Only one game right now even takes advantage of the hardware.

BEST IN THE GAME HANDSDOWN! WOULDNT RECCOMEND ANYONE ELSE !

"First let me start off with how amazing these guys are with their help, I made quite a bit of mistakes with my build when I first got it. Every problem I encountered was fixed with quickness no matter the day or time they will answer, and they will not get off the phone with you until they make sure your problem is fixed.

Major credits to Arturo & Oliver on the sales aspect of the tower.

William & Raul, you guys have taught me a lot of stuff I cannot thank you guys enough for the help you provided with quickness and just cool people I appreciate you guys spreading your knowledge to me amazing guys. They understood I was not yet familiar with Overclocking or not familiar with any of this next gen stuff. I cannot thank you guys enough for the stellar aid any time of the day or night.

Bottom line I will be buying all my custom builds & repairs through Origin. I will never let a soul work on this Rig besides these guys.

Hands down Origin is the industry's top custom PC maker. They are the piranhas unlike geek squad who are the fish.

They are ranked #1 in custom builds on IGN 2020 & 2021 for a reason, now I am given the opportunity to see the reason firsthand.

Bought a new laptop for my bedroom

"I did my research on who's the best rated computer builders & Origin was rated #1 on several tech sites. I can agree they are hands down the best, they keep you updated on orders & in my case, it would of been a few extra weeks for the Evo15S I had configured because I wanted the 4k screen but it was back ordered as it was a new item. Well, the Sales rep Odette Nammur asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the Evo17S since that 4k screen was in stock. I went ahead & upgraded. They have very fast shipping, I'm in California & my laptop shipped on March 31st & it arrived at my house April 6th. After it arrived it kept crashing for some reason, I called up Origin & they sent me the files to update the BIOS in less than 1 hour after I called. Never have I had such a quick response. I will definitely be getting my next desktop from Origin! "
