New PC

"I have been very happy with my new Origin PC. Having built several of my PCs in the past and not wanting to build a new one I used Origin. Customer support was very good, they kept me informed of each step along the way. From when I ordered the PC to delivery it took a little over two weeks, not bad for a custom-built PC. The PC arrived in their custom armor wooden box and was packed very securely. The PC has run perfectly so far with no issues. I was able to have it set-up with updates and my different software applications in day and half and was using it after that.

Only two things of note, I requested to have the T-shirt changed from a medium to an extra large and they failed to do that. Also, the tracking number they gave me was bad, so I was not able to track my PC. Otherwise, a pretty good experience and I will buy from them in the future and would recommend anyone to buy from them.

If I could give it zero stars I would

"I would give it zero stars if that were an option. I ordered their $3300+ EON17-X model with Windows 11.

Took it out of the box, started it up, went through the start up directions. Installed Chrome, installed Microsoft Office, installed Steam.

When the computer went to sleep mode, it wouldn't wake up to a mouse click, a keyboard strike, etc... Turned the power off, waited, turned the power on. Saw the Origin logo, then the screen went black.

Called Origin's trouble ticket line. They gave us instructions with a bunch of drivers and told us to wipe it and re-install with Windows 10 because they've heard of other computers having issues with Windows 11... We did, things seemed to be going well, the computer went to sleep mode, wouldn't wake up again, tried restarting, saw Origin logo, screen goes black, same result.

You pay $3300 for a computer and you know, you want to spend all day having to download and reinstall drives and operating systems and wiping drives and following a bunch of complicated instructions for it to still not work. Brand new computer, just out of the box. Did I mention it was $3300?

For the hardware... So right after we did the initial start up instructions and having downloaded Chrome, I was just running Chrome, waiting on a Steam download, and going on the CNN website, and then an extremely loud fan (like air craft engine loud) starts roaring. I am not exaggerating, it was the loudest PC fan I've ever heard in my life. God forbid I had been running something really RAM intensive. The key board was set to all red lighting and the control functions wouldn't let you change it. This PC only comes with two usable standard USB ports!

I bought this computer as a returning customer. The Origin model I bought back in 2014 came with four USB ports and had three big fans that handled everything I gave it without sounding like a jet engine! I had this computer through my electrical engineering grad school year where I was running all kinds of crazy maxed out processor, maxed out RAM simulations on it and it handled them all with swag. That was the reason I came back to Origin to buy my next laptop and I am very hurt that they now ****. I'm returning it.

Look No Further for Your Next PC

"In a world where support is flooded with technicians who know next to nothing and support queues that usually leave the customer on hold for hours, Origin stands far and above the rest. Support wait times are minutes and techs are easy to understand an knowledgeable. Not to mention the quality of the build and the PC being shipped in a wooden crate. Excellent support and product from start to finish. Keep up the great work. "

Perfect PC Experience

"I've wanted an Origin for years! The website is so excellent, building your PC is a fun game almost. No b.s. and when/if you chose something incompatible (like power supply), you get updated correct part. No major upsells. Essentially, Origin is for true PC enthusiasts! I got the wooden box shipping and it arrived in about 1/2 the time that was originally stated. A very welcome surprise. Packaging was perfect, no issues, and system was spec'd for gaming. All bios settings were exactly what I wanted to get the most of my new PC. Damn near perfect all around."

Great product, great support!

"I ordered a computer from their outlet store online and had some goof ups because their Inventory wasnt quite accurate online. It definitely took a while to correct the order but they upgraded the item I was purchasing and it totally made it worth the wait. Jake, and Eddie helped get me squared away! All in all, I'd definitely recommend origin pc to friends and family or anyone looking for stellar support behind a great product!"

Horrible place to order from build it yourself save the headace

"They couldn't get the order shipped out even close to on time. They didn't ship the computer till the day it was supposed to be delivered even though the computer was finished and ready to be shipped for a whole week. Then kept getting one lie after another from sales/support even though I went out of the way trying to work with them and help set everything up"

Excited recipient

"As I mentioned it started off rocky. The text consultant seemed a bit defensive. Step 1, a product not available was suggested. Step 2 an assumption was made by the rep on delivery target. Step 3 no response email had come after order was received. In the email after order was received a note sales rep would confirm order and respond with an email none arrived. So a day before the first day I was suppose to receive the computer I responded to find out about the computer was no longer available. This was however remedied by successive customer service employee who recommended the newer model. A much better model. At that point it was necessary to get the managers approval. I spoke to him directly and a solution was agreed and even compensations were made. Ultimately I felt the new computer was an upgrade and due to a pressing schedule situation a kind gesture was made. Expedited shipping. In the end my daughters computer arrived within the projected schedule. Thanks so much this customer service truly made our day and thanks to that manager who made us seem important."

Bad delivery experience but good customer service

"Short story: I didn't have a good delivery experience with OriginPC. It was mostly UPS's fault, but the folks working in the sales team of OriginPC communicated well with me, admitted their mistakes, and worked hard to correct their mistakes. So I'll definitely recommend to other people to do business with OriginPC.

Long story:

The delivery was scheduled to be made on a Friday. The UPS driver didn't knock on my door or ring my doorbell and I missed my delivery because of this. I went into the tracking website and got a notification that the delivery was attempted at 9:12am PDT. I left my door at about 9:15am PDT and I didn't see any UPS trucks nearby.

I called UPS right away and checked to see if I can rearrange a pickup location. They told me that either I waited until Monday or I asked OriginPC to rearrange a pickup location.

I called the OriginPC customer service, and the agent told me they have a very strict shipping policy that they can only deliver items to our shipping address and no other alternative pickup can be provided, and thus the only way for me is to wait until Monday. I will deduct a star from this review due to the strict policy of the delivery. If this can be changed to allowing clients to pick up from a UPS pickup site, this will give clients more flexibility in case they miss the package.

I was very upset about this strict policy, so I initiated a return and asked for a refund. The customer sales team worked very hard to ensure this process go smoothly for me. I expressed my feelings and thoughts on why I felt upset about this. They admitted their mistakes, expressed they were sorry for my situation, and listened and made sure things would be done right for me. They ended up giving me a full refund for my case, including shipping and taxes. I felt grateful for this because not a lot of companies these days are willing to admit their mistakes. This definitely shows that OriginPC cares about the customers and will always prioritize on the customers rather than money.

Personally, I will definitely do business with OriginPC in the future. They did lose money this time for the shipping and the restocking for my case.

A Lesson Learned in Frustration and Disappointment

"I've been a staunch supporter of high-quality custom PCs and, based on their reputation, decided to invest in ORIGIN PC. The product looked premium and, for a price tag just shy of $6000, I expected superior quality and service. Unfortunately, my expectations were utterly disappointed.

From the outset, the craftsmanship of my new laptop felt below par. Within a few weeks of light use, two keys fell off my keyboard – a clear sign of shoddy workmanship. However, the real issue began when I attempted to resolve this seemingly minor problem.

I opted for their 3 Year Part Replacement service with Shipping, 24/7 Tech Support, and Lifetime Labor Included. It was, in my view, a safety net – a promise that I would be covered for any unexpected glitches or hardware problems. However, it quickly became evident that this 'net' was full of holes.

Upon contacting customer service, I was told that I should have taken a photo of the laptop on the day I received it. Their insistence on this photo was baffling and an absurd requirement for such a small repair. It felt as if they were more interested in looking for loopholes to avoid assisting me, than in actually providing the service they advertised.

All I asked for was two replacement keys. A minor request, surely? It would have been a simple and efficient solution. I even offered to pay for these keys myself, in spite of having a warranty. Yet, their response was an insistence that I send the entire laptop back, an overly complicated and unnecessary solution.

I attempted to find a workaround, hoping I could source these keys from other outlets, but it appears ORIGIN has purposely made their computers so exclusive that no other party offers replacements.

In essence, I feel as though I've been conned out of my hard-earned money. $6000 seems like a steep price to pay for such abysmal customer service and a laptop with evidently poor craftsmanship. I've learned a hard lesson about companies that value their profits over their customer satisfaction. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend ORIGIN PC to anyone seeking a reliable, high-quality custom PC experience.

To any potential buyers: proceed with caution, because the glittering reputation of ORIGIN PC did not match up to the reality.

Great Tech and Sales Support

"Thier technicians and sales associates actually answered their phone in about 5 to 6 minutes.
I had an elite 7000X system custom Ryzen 9 build sent to me in two weeks' time.
I was on vacation and stayed in touch with OriginPC and they made sure I got my system in double quick time.
I received my computer system on June 2nd, 2023.
Who does that? In my experience, it usually takes a month or month and a half to get a custom build sent out.
Great job.

Piece of garbage laptop. Avoid this company

"I purchased a brand new EON-16S laptop since I had a wonderful experience with my Origin laptop which I bought back in 2017. After doing extensive research, I decided to go with Origin (as opposed to Falcon Northwest) since I had a good experience with them and boy! I was so WRONG! First, my order was delayed, then my laptop was defective (laptop randomly shuts off during gaming with temps reaching up to 70c,) then e-mail sent to support to fix issue but customer service is horrible. That's $1800 wasted in the trash bin. I will not forgive this company and will never buy nor recommend their products to any one.

If you want a good gaming laptop with reliable customer support, look elsewhere. This company is not what it used to be. Shame I lost my $1800 on a defected laptop. Even selling it is a pain.
