"I have made a number of purchases over the last few years and find that the value is very hit or miss. Some of the purchases have been exactly as described, but others barely work or dont work, but the return process is dificult and for some low cost products not worth the cost to ship it back. I find the lack of details to be the most frustrating part, I sometimes need to view a dozen websites to find out comparrison information and sometimes never find out what I need to know. I now only buy things that are not important and where the price is low enough that I don't mind if it turns out to be useless."

"My most frequent problem with surplus computers is having to write them asking about a particular part. If you could be more detailed in your product listings that'd be great. It's not that I want to know anything unusual. Take hard drives for example, not listing any of the following is insufficient information: RPM, Cache, Read/Write speeds. I regularly find lower prices elsewhere, but if I didn't find your products and pricing compelling, I'm sure I wouldn't be on your mailing list. In comparison to other local stores NewEgg and ZipZoomFly both ship things out faster and you're not any further away from me. Your closest competitor JustDeals sells refurbished parts that are almost JustCrap with about half of their stuff being broken. When I've returned them the defective parts they have more often than not about 4/6 of the time. So much of my orders were junk I bundled 4 returns into the same box and they failed to return me anything, in spite of more than adequate labelling. So compared to JustDeals, you're fantastic. I realize that NewEgg and ZipZoomFly are selling more newer products with a higher margin, so I accept that customer service and shipping quality aren't going to be as good. "

"I have ordered from Surplus Computers several times in the last couple of years. I can always find interesting and unique gadgets and a low price. It's a great place to shop for stocking stuffers for the tech lover on your Christmas list. The only negative, is their shipping costs are in my opinion way too high. It doesn't make sense to buy a wireless mouse for $4.99 and then pay $15.99 shipping. Those $ are for example only and may not be the exact figures at this time. I would buy from Surplus Computers more often if they offered a budget shipping option."
"I have ordered from Surplus Computers over the last couple of years and have referred friends to them due to the great prices. Unfortunately, I've been unhappy with my last few orders. For this order, the issue was with brand new Kodak Camera. When I received it, I found that it wouldn't hold a charge. I went to Kodak's website for support and they told me I needed to send it back.
In order to return something, it has to be within 14 days instead of the industry standard 30 days, you pay the return shipping AND you have to agree to pay $25 for a technician to check your product IF they find that it actually wasn't broken. My camera was found to be defective which meant I was eligible for a REPLACEMENT, but not a refund. They will only do replacements or credit in most situations. I noticed their policy said that if its found defective, a replacement would be sent based on availability. I had to email them to ask about this and they told me they didn't have an ETA on when they'd have more of that model of camera in, so they ultimately issued a refund. Prices are great, but their return policy for problems is a huge hassle."

I have no complaints on delivery time but the shipping was extremely high. Please re-open store front to public or offer will call to save on shipping. Other than that I love your company."

"I have been ordering products from Surplus Computers since early 2008. Every product I have ordered has been exactly as it was described. Shipping has been fair and fast. The only gripe I have is I feel emails could be answered faster due to sometimes the customer is making a purchase that is time sensitive and needs a question answered about the product that is not included in the description page. Other than that, great company and fast shipping. "
