Received reply next day asking to verify my order because of my bank address. I spoke to them that day and order was processed and shipped that Monday. I received it in 2 days all the way cross country. I was also very pleased with the Q9450 I received as it turned out to be a Q9450S."
"sent a defective product. after taking the time to troubleshoot other parts it was infact a bad processor from starmicro. starmicro tech support was unhelpful and their supervisor who would be able to answer a question was conveniently out to lunch when i called. will not purchase from again"

"I placed this order on a Sunday, knowing that if it went out Monday, I'd have it in time for my needs the following weekend. The order is confirmed Sunday, my charge card is charged on Sunday and I am sent notice of a shipping label and tracking number on Monday. Wednesday afternoon I receive a notice of backorder. REALLY? It took you three days to figure that out???? CSR almost refused to cancel my order until I told him I had bought it from somewhere else and I'd call google checkout.
Selling what you don't have - just plain wrong. Not figuring it out for three days - unforgivable."
"I must say my order was processed promptly and just received the package today, only 4 days, a record for the post office I must admit. That was the good news, the bad news I was sent the wrong CPU. I ordered an Athlon 64 3000 AMA3000BEX5AP but received instead a Mobile Athlon 64 AMN3400BKXSBU, I hope it was a mix up and someone else got my CPU. I will be calling Star Micro tomorrow.

"Primitive" approximately captures the online buying experience. On the other hand, they had pretty good reviews here, and I had sent them a pre-sale question that they answered intelligently in about a half-day. So I took the plunge and ordered an OEM Q8400. I'm happy to say that they did well. They shipped it in less than 24 hours. It was very well protected and packed in a box that was a lot larger than they could have gotten away with. It came with an invoice that had "TESTED" stamped on it with someone's initials. I suppose the stamp had some basis in reality because the processor works as it should. While it's just the luck of the draw, the processor I got, a standard Q8400, meets the Q8400S specification. Good deal.
I guess the only negative about the experience centers around their web site. "1995" is not an exaggeration. There's no way to see order status, for example. There's no order history either. But on balance, they do answer the phone and they send status updates by email, so maybe this shouldn't be a showstopper. All things considered and based on this one positive experience, I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again."

I contacted sales who agreed to sell the items for the lower advertised price, and they were delivered just as advertised. Do not worry about doing business with Starmicro! The folks at AMDZone also said they have bought there with no troubles."
