"I will never buy from SamStores or World Wide Voltage (one of their distributors) again. Here’s why:
July 14 (all dates are 2011): Ordered “PANASONIC RX-D50 CD RADIO CASSETTE RECORDER WITH MUSIC PORT” from www.worldwidevoltag.com specifically because the description listed “USB” as an available connection. (They have since corrected the description so it says “USB – no,” but it originally said just “USB.”) Received order confirmation email same day.
July 15: Received second order confirmation email including UPS tracking info.
July 18: Received UPS shipment cancellation email and called to find out why. I was told two UPS shipment labels had been generated and one had to be cancelled, but the item was still en route to me.
July 19: Received re-shipment email from World Wide Voltage, though they had told me the item was still en route. Why re-ship when it’s still en route? Seems like Lie #1 to me.
July 21: Received item and found out the online description was (at the time) incorrect – no USB port. Lie #2.
July 22: I called for and received return instructions, including an email with attached “Return Material Authorization (RMA)” form to fill out and fax back. I filled and faxed and received an RMA number the same day via email.
July 23: Following all instructions on the RMA form exactly, I shipped the item back via UPS at my own expense. They don’t pay for their mistakes and don’t accept USPS as a shipping option; freight only.
July 26: At 12:55 p.m., “Patel” signed for the package at the address where I was told to ship the item. My UPS delivery confirmation proves it.
Aug. 1: No refund has showed up in my account. I called and was told someone would return my call that day. Nobody called me. Lie #3.
Aug. 3: I called again and was told the same thing. Again, nobody called me. Lie #4.
Aug. 5: Called again and was told to expect a 7- to 10-day turn-around before receiving my refund. The snotty person I spoke to informed me that this information is provided on the RMA form. IT IS NOT. Lie #5. Not only is it not on the RMA form, it’s not on the return policy page the RMA form provides a link for, nor is it on World Wide Voltage’s OR SamStores’ online return policy pages. The snotty person was unable to tell me how much the “restocking fee” would be (minimum 20%, according to the RMA form).
Aug. 11: Still no refund. Called again and was told my return was “not showing in the system.” When I told the “service rep” that someone named Patel had signed for it on the 26th, he put me on hold and physically went “next door” to where he knew somebody named Patel worked. That’s supposedly where the package was. Apparently the people next door didn’t know where the package was supposed to go, despite the fact that the address was perfectly clear AND they’re next door neighbors. Who doesn’t know what store is next to theirs?! Who doesn’t take the package to the correct address if it’s delivered to the place next door? Fishy. Very fishy. I think this is Lie #6. I was told that, now that they had the package, I had to wait 3 to 5 MORE business days for the refund.
Aug. 24: Still no refund. Called again and was told the credit department was “in a meeting.” Someone would call me back as soon as they got out, in an hour or so. In case you haven’t been keeping track, no one has EVER called me back. Needless to say, I was skeptical. And, as it turns out, this was Lie #7. No one called me.
Aug. 26: Still no refund (surprise, surprise). Placed my sixth call to World Wide Voltage and was told my refund request had been submitted to the credit department, but “they aren’t here today.” I’d have to call back. At least nobody promised a return call, right?
Aug. 29: Placed seventh call to World Wide Voltage and spoke with “Santu.” After he also told me he wasn’t seeing the return/refund in the system, I went back through the entire story (AGAIN). We compared UPS tracking/shipping notifications and I told him about Patel and the six other calls I’d made. He said whoever fetched the package from next door apparently didn’t do anything with it after that, but since he could see the UPS info, he was going to go ahead and do the refund manually; I should see the refund before the end of the day. I was fully prepared for this to be Lie #8, but …
AT LAST, somebody told me the truth: I FINALLY got my refund of $118 a few minutes after I got off the phone with Santu. In the end, here’s how the numbers worked out:
I originally paid $118.99 for the item, plus $11.90 tax and $18 shipping, for a total of $148.89.
I then paid $14.46 to ship it back, which was non-refundable.
So in the end, I paid out a total of $163.35 and got back $118, for a net loss of $45.35. Of that, World Wide Voltage/SamStores got $30.89. Keep in mind: This is for an item THEY incorrectly described on the web site. Talk about a racket! They still made money and I didn’t get a damn thing out of it except a month of aggravation.
Avoid them at all costs. Their slightly lower prices aren't worth the hassle if something goes wrong.

"Caveat Emptor!
I purchased the Samsung UA-46C5000 so-called "Multisystem" LED TV for 110-24o Volts on Friday, 08-JULY-2011, and have been very disappointed to discover that, in fact, the TV is NOT/NOT "Worldwide PAL BG, PAL I, Secam BG, DK/ PAL DK TV tuners" and is NOT/NOT a "Worldwide NTSC/PAL/SECAM Color System."
In fact, a call to Tech Support at ***-***-****, ext. 200, will reveal that the merchant, Sam Store a/k/a WorldWideVoltage, expects the purchaser to use an analog-to-digital signal converter and then use the Composite In (AV) [that is, RCA yellow, white and red inputs] to get a video and audio signal into the TV that will display properly. The built-in PAL B/G tuner will NOT/NOT properly display any other signal type. This is because the Samsung UA-46C5000 is manufactured for the Australian/New Zealand/Singapore markets, all three of which are exclusively PAL B/G.
What is true is that the TV is 110-240 volts.
Also, the production description webpage (https://www.samstores.com/details.asp?ProdID=16371) now notes (it didn't on July 8th) near the bottom that "WSS1905 Antenna Connector required connecting US style antenna/cable to VCR - sold on our site for $4.00." This connector is essential if you are in North America (i.e., Canada, U.S.A. or Mexico) and wish to plug in a standard 75-Ohm coaxial cable into the TV.
On the plus side, the TV set is supermodel thin and just a gorgeous!
NOTE: I'm posting this here on resellerratings.com because my multiple attempts at leaving a review on the product page at samstore.com keep resulting in the following error message:

"Don't order from them! Sold us a used vcr/dvd unit even though we were told this was brand new and factory sealed. Box was resealed and made it look like it was not tampered. No warranty info/card was inside. Even previous customer's details were in it! Had to email them twice and after 1 phone call to have it shipped. No email confirmation after ordering. A hassle to deal with. Video cables were missing inside the box. A company run and owned by Indian/Pakistanis. No trust simply. Previous order went wrong as well. This is the last time we will order form them. "

"I ordered a home phone for $104. the next day a representative called me to notify me that they don't have the phone in black, but only in metallic. I agreed to the change, but they sent me a completely different phone with the same price, which was sold at amazon for half the price. I called the representative and they were extremely rude and insulting and would not refund me because they stood by their claim that the new phone is better. Basically, they were telling me what to buy and not to buy. DO NOT SPEAK TO SANTU from customer representative.

"I put in an order for an item marked as "In Stock" and "Ship within 24 hours". It also had the marking "New arrival" which I was pretty sure would mean they had it. It took almost a full week for them to send me an e-mail saying "Please call customer service ASAP". To make matters worse the email was sent at 4PM on a friday and they are only open until 5. When I called on Monday I was told that the product was not in stock. When asked why the web site still said that it was available the guy replied "We can't update our website every day". I asked him when it would be in stock and he said it was backordered. He offered me 2 "comparable models" one costing twice as much as the one I ordered and one costing almost that much. I quickly cancelled my order. Never again will I order from these people. Yes you can update your website every day. That's called inventory. It automatically will deduct when you send an order and you just have to enter how many you get when you receive a shipment."

"The Phillips DVD-5990 player is still showing on the site as available. I ordered this on 4/23/11. A couple days later I got a call and the person told me that my order would be delayed 1 week. I waited the week and no call nor delivery. I called Samstores and was told the player was on back order and that I should have it within a week to 10 days and that they would expedite shipping with no cost to me. After 10 days, no call and no player. I again called the company and a guy who identified himself as Nirav said I should have the player by next Thursday. It is now May 27, 2011. No call and no player. Note that on the site the player still shows as available to ship within 24 hours. Needless to say I'm not happy."

"Ordered a Nokia 3720 as advertised. After a number of days I was told that it was not in stock, so I cancelled my order. I then received an email that it was shipped. Hence I wrote and asked: is it cancelled or shipped? I received no reply during several days, in spite of me reminding a number of times.
14 days after my original order I called and managed to learn it was not shipped after all.
Due to Samstores selling products they do not have and consistently not replying on emails, I lost 14 day's time. I will never use them again!

"I don't understand the bad reviews. My first order arrived within reasonable timing. I didn't understand the instructions and called, the people were very patient and assisted me to get my grandson's dvd player working correctly. I was so pleased in the product that I am ordering another one. My grandson is autistic and he loves foreign dvd's he is happy with the product and that's what's important so now I will have one at my home also when he comes down south to visit.
