Poor Communication

"My Boss had used Pro Audio Star multiple times and said that they were nothing but great to work with. I decided to order a bass guitar on black friday. Once I had ordered the guitar, I immediately realized it was the wrong one (not even 10 minutes later), and sent a message asking if I could cancel the order. They got back to me and said that I could not because it was already being processed. I figured, whatever, I can return it once I receive the packeage. Once the guitar arrived I decided to keep it instead because it would do the job. Upon opening the guitar, I realized that there was major damage done across the back, as if somebody had dented it with a large metal chain. I reprocessed my return and sent it back, asking for a replacement.
After the guitar had been DELIVERED for about 3 or 4 days, I hadn't received an update or any shipping info for my new guitar, so I called customer service. Customer service told me that they had the return labeled as a refund, and even if I wanted a new one they couldn't give me one because they were out of that specific guitar (but still had the same guitar listed on their wewbsite for sale at full price...). This guitar was a gift for somebody for christmas and it would have been nice to have this information when I returned the guitar!
Two weeks go by and I have not received my refund, so I give them another call to see what's up. They mention that with the holidays it takes a while for the refund to go through, but it has been processed and should show up soon, which is understandable. On that phone call I learned that they did not refund me my full amount like they said that they would, so I had to make sure that second amount would also be processed.
Two weeks later, I get an email saying that there were problems with the initial refund and my bank was detecting it as fraud. I emailed them once I had that all cleared up, and said they could run it again. A while later I received the second refund with the remainder of the amount, but not the initial large portion of my refund after that.
I called again and it turns out they never fixed my initial refund and processed it again. I really don't think that I would have received my initial refund had I not called. This entire ordeal took over a month!

Each time I called, customer service was very understanding and polite. They worked to get me answers and helped to speed up the process. I understand that this was during the holidays and they were probably extremely busy, but the amount of issues and problems that I had were ridiculous. The lack of communication was very unprofessional. I was not impressed with my experience with Pro Audio Star.

Defective guitars need repair upon purchase

"I bought two guitars from you recently. One was a Washburn acoustic, which was on sale as an open-box item. I took a chance, knowing the item had likely been returned by someone else. The top string is set too close to the fret, and doesn’t play correctly until you’re on the 4th fret. I assume this is why it was returned initially. It should have never gone back out for sale. Per your website, I can’t return it because it was a sale item. I feel cheated. I also bought a D’Angelico hollow body, which was advertised as a B-stock, but I took a chance. One of the pick-ups is not secured to the guitar, so is partially floating, loose from the guitar. The guitar plays, and I like it, so I will have this one fixed. I’m not sure if I can even have the other one fixed. I’ve purchased numerous things from you, and they were fine, but this is two in a row where the product has notable issues. I no longer feel I can purchase from you with confidence, and am unlikely to place future orders because of it. "

Happens Everytime I Buy Something Here

"I tried these guys out one more time, after a terrible experience with an RCF subwoofer sent to me with a huge dent in the grille, but I got screwed again. This time, I ordered and paid for two (2) RCF 912-A speakers, and one of them arrived with damaged plastics around the outer edge of the speaker torn up. And please do note that these damage are NOT from shipping, as there are no physical issues with the box, and they are packed extremely well on the inside. The speaker was loaded INTO THE BOX this way. Then to make matters worse, they only give you a few days to get back to them about the damage. I wasn't using the speakers right away, but did take them out and had a look at them, but didn't notice the damage until later, as I have poor eyesight. Someone else pointed it out to me. The last time this happened with the RCF sub, I had to go to RCF to get the new grille and I fixed it myself because this company wouldn't do anything for me. REALLY bad company to do business with. Stay away from them."

"They shipped my drums using FedEx. And the FedEx warehouse in Kodak, Tennessee is a corrupt branch. I'll probably never receive my drums due to the average FedEx delivery driver at the Kodak, TN branch is a thief. Hopefully the companies will help me resolve this. I paid for something that's been stolen"

Soundcraft UI24R

"After purchasing the Soundcraft UI24R from Pro Audio in October, I have still not been able to use it on an actual job. It has been sent back to Harman, at my expense, and I have had to hire an outside sound tec to run the sound for my band during the Christmas and New Year season. More money out of my pocket! They have finally repaired it ( a factory default) and are in the process of shipping it back to me. Hopefully, things will get better from hear on out but, it has not been a confidence building experience."

Good service, disappointing product.

"Bought a new PRS SE Hollowbody II Electric Guitar - Black Gold Burst at close to "open box" pricing. On close inspection the body appears to be multi-piece both front and back but it was very well done and extremely well finished. I appreciate the environmental consciousness of that decision, especially when used in a modestly priced guitar.

The neck, however, was a disaster! It's an ebony fretboard but it looked like a well worn pair of black/grey corduroy pants. Apparently it was leftover machining debris and dust. Gunk had to be removed from each side of each fret. (Think, garage mechanic without gloves who just planted flower bulbs for his wife with bare hands.) I always put my preferred strings on each guitar so first job was cleaning gunk then oiling. Now it looked as it should. What was still wrong was that the 12th fret bird wing on the treble side was about 1mm. above the fretboard. I very carefully filed it down with a precision pin file and it's now as it should have been in the first place. The fret ends are very well dressed and the nut is properly cut. The adjustable saddle and bridge took some fiddling but the flexibility for adjustment allowed for very accurate intonation. It plays like a dream, the pickups and associated pots seem to provide a much broader spectrum of sounds than on many other guitars including some with 4 pots.

In summary a very nice guitar, fair price, good seller but QC along the way needed to be improved. You can't go wrong if you get a good one!
