"Updated Review: This is a follow-up to my review below on March 23rd. I still have not received a refund of $1502 for the lamp I ordered in November! Zero response from this "company". I am completely sure this is a fraudulent business. After no response and complete frustration, I am forced to pursue the issue through other channels. PLEASE do not buy from this company. You will regret it.

Original Review: This company deserves negative stars. I honestly don't think I have every done business with such an awful establishment. I paid $1500 for one lamp and my card was charged immediately. I was told the lamp would come in 1-2 weeks. I should have been suspicious, as the lamp was not showing available at reputable companies like DWR. It has now been over four months and I have not received the lamp. I have called the company multiple times, and I get nowhere. I am told "a manager will have to call me back". Never has anyone called me. And, when you call the company, it does not seem like normal customer service, rather some untrustworthy person just answering the phone and doing nothing. The chat function is a joke...a continuous stream of waiting with no one on the other end. Once, I believe I received a call asking for my credit card again. I believe this was them, and just part of the continued scam. At this point, I am left with no choice but to process a dispute with my bank. Please trust me and do not do business with this company. I believe they are a fraudulent operation out to take your money.

"Olighting has very competitive pricing. There were shipping delays with my order due to the manufacturers inventory, however Chris kept me up to date on the ETA's and my products all arrived within the time specified. Whenever I had a question, Chris responded right away to my emails. This was a great introduction to Olighting and I would definitely use them again..."

"It was such a pleasure doing business with Olighting. Not only did they offer the best price for this Kartell lamp I wanted, their customer service was just as excellent. There was a slight delay in shipping my lamp, but Olighting addressed my concerns and kept me up to date regarding my order and delivery status. My new lamp is gorgeous and I highly recommend doing business with Olighting. "

"It took a while to get my light fixture due to some unanticipated delays from the manufacturer. BUT...I was impressed by the way my order was handled. Extra effort was made by the staff of Olighting to get my fixture to me as quickly as possible, and I was impressed by the personal and professional care my order received. THANK YOU Olighting. I AM HAPPY!"

"The seller provided inaccurate information on product availability on their site. I placed my order with them because of how quickly I could get the lamps (it was a manufacturer sale offered on many websites, but other vendors, like DWR, AllModern, etc., all had a longer lead time for delivery). My lamps were supposed to arrive in 2 weeks in early January, and my card was charged immediately upon order. I kept checking the order status online and when it hadn't changed three weeks later I started calling and emailing them to try to find out where my lamps were. To my disappointment when I did finally get a response, i was told the lamps would not ship for 8 weeks! I tried to cancel the order, but no one would return my calls or emails. Eventually, I had no choice but to file a charge dispute with American Express.
Once i filed the dispute, i received an email from the owner of the business, promising to resolve the issue that day. When i didn't hear back from him, i reached out again every day, and each time I was assured that the order would be cancelled that day and I would receive a refund. I eventually got so frustrated that I posted a negative review on this site.
The review did get a very quick response, but not one I expected -- the business owner contacted the site to try to remove my review, claiming I lied! I provided proof to the site administrator and the review remained posted. The owner then started calling and emailing me, stalling the refund and offering me discounts to keep the order in place, even though I repeatedly explained that I needed the lamps before March and that I really would prefer not to do business with him. It took another week of back and forth emails for him to cancel the order and send me a check (he added 5% over the price I paid to the refund. It was a nice gesture, but the sale would have saved me 20% over the price I eventually paid to get the lamps from another vendor).
I wish I could say the story ended there, but unfortunately, it didn't. In early March I received a bunch of boxes that turned out to be the lamp order that was supposedly cancelled! More headaches making sure they got returned to the manufacturer and I didn't get charged again....

"Beware, this is not a trustworthy operation. First, I ordered a light that was listed to ship in 3 days. Then I was told 1 week. When it had been close to a month, I tried to get in contact via phone (only an answering machine) and call went unreturned, then via their messaging service (never open, even during posted hours) and customer service email (also unreturned). I was very nervous because they had charged my credit card more than $600, yet hadn't shipped (or even updated me on shipping) my order. At that point, I wrote a negative review here and I received an immediate phone call from a manager who begged me to take down my review promising to get my light out right away and promising a discount and excellent customer service on my next light. My light did arrive more than a month after I ordered it. I then began working directly with that manager on my next order (in which I would supposedly receive this great discount). I found the light I liked, but then saw it listed on another website for far less $$. I emailed the manager to ask if he could match the price. He emailed back to confirm that he would match the price and my item would be shipped in within a week. After a week had passed with no shipping notice, I contacted him to ask the whereabouts of my light. One of his staff replied telling me I would need to pay more for the light due to their costs!! What!?? If you agree on a price and a customer is expecting a shipment, I don't believe it's ethical (let alone legal) to change the price. If you ask me, our emails back an forth were a written contract stating the sale at the agreed price, but apparently this meant nothing to these guys. We went back and forth and they continued to offer me the light at a higher price, claiming that the other site had made an error on their pricing. I gave up and bought it at the other site, Allmodern. My light has arrived from Allmodern at the price it was listed and it is lovely. What a headache it was dealing with Olighting. I recommend that you save yourself them time and go directly to a more reputable company."
