"I ordered a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx handheld GPSR from FuturePowerPC.com in December of 2006. I checked all over for the best price, and they had it with free shipping. I was hesitant to order from a new (to me) company, but they had decent online reviews, and I could always go through the Credit Card company to resolve any issues.

I received the GPSR in a few days. It was in great condition with all the parts and documentation I needed to send off for the $50 rebate, which Garmin honored.

I am very happy with the transaction, and the GPSR is still working great, almost 2 years later. I would purchase from them again.

"I purchased three COP surveillance cameras from this store. I received e-mails indicating the status of the order as it got readied. It shipped really quickly too. The prices where good too. UPDATE: I had to return one of the cameras due to a malfunction. They kept it for more than a month and returned it to me. The camera still has intermittent problems. A second camera failed. I decided not to send it to them because they are not reliable. I purchased a different camera from another vendor. I would not recommend COP branded cameras due to the failure rate and service options. You must send to vendor for repair. I had originally recommended futurepowerpc.com but no longer recommend them due to lack of customer service."

"Read carefully about my experience so you gain some insight about the attitudes and ethics of this company.

I had a terrible experience dealing with this company. They make up varying stories and lies that they are undoubtedly good at telling to scam their customers. I had purchased a WACOM tablet from them at 120 dollars, and they had already charged my credit card. Shortly after, a lady called me and simply said "There was an error in pricing. We can't cover the cost for the tablet at that price. You can buy it for 200 DOLLARS though." I thought that was outrageous so I told her to cancel it. Later when I called because they had not refunded the money on my credit card, the man that answered the phone explained that "the item is no longer in stock, so we will refund your credit card". Convenient excuse, right? I decided to see what would happen if I explained more, and I mentioned the other lady changing the price on me. He said, "Oh, that was a promotional price. We offered it before, but have now changed it." He then ACKNOWLEDGED the item HAD been available for purchasing at the promotional price (READ: not an error in pricing), but not any more. I told him that I had checked out the item at the promotional price and FuturePowerPC had CHARGED my credit card for the promotional price, but the man just said "nope, sorry" and hung up. Two VERY different explanations - just stories to con customers. These are the facts, I will leave it to you to draw the conclusion.

I recommend you stay away from this company and watch for their comments on customers' poor reviews as well. It seems they have an entire department dedicated to writing more lies to lure in more unsuspecting buyers by providing a false sense of honesty and good business ethics.

"The first dvd drive was faulty. I called Samsung, they agreed the drive was faulty and gave me a transaction number. I returned the first drive to futurepowerpc.com within their 30 day policy. I had to pay shipping and was only given the option to repair the unit on their RMA return web site. I called futurepowerpc.com and was reassured that I would be sent a new unit. The second drive that I received had scratch marks on it. IT WAS NOT NEW! The second drive was faulty. I called futurepowerpc.com and said that I wanted a paid return and my money back. They just sent me a confirmation RMA number and an email telling me that I was going to be charged 15 per cent restocking charge and further shipping charges. I called futurepowerpc.com again and was told that this is indeed their policy. I’m keeping the faulty second drive as proof and this lesson has cost me purchase price, reshipping cost and time to warn you about their defective return policy."

"I placed an order on 4/23 around noon. I never received any email from them.

I checked their web site and on the next afternoon (4/24) there was a note on my order asking me to call to confirm this order. I appreciate the security precautions, but why do they have to wait over 24 hours just to confirm.

When I confirmed I asked when the order would be shipped and was told later that day. When I checked again on the second day after placing my order I saw the notation "to be shipped." Tired of this delay, I called to cancel the order.

This is the second order I placed with them this month and both orders were the same--that is no email confirmation, earliest ship date was two days after placing the order (if then!). This vendor needs to be more responsive to its customers. There is no reason why an order cannot be shipped same or next-day providing the item is in stock.

"Ordered a GPS unit and a memory card. Called 8 days later after not hearing anything from them to find out that the stuff is on back order. I really needed these things on time, now I am in trouble. Based on my one and only order with this company: they are not worth it. Any company that does not tell you for a week that your stuff is on back order is not trustworthy."

"Good experience.

Ordered a Garmin Nuvi 350 for a low price on Sunday, 12/31. Received a call on Wednesday, 1/3 (two business days) to confirm shipping address. No attempt was made to upsell. Said item would ship within 24 hours. Their web page showed it hadn't shipped by Friday, so I called and asked. It was shipped within a half hour.

Item received following Monday, packed well, just as ordered.

Happy with performance. Only complaint would be telling me it would go in 24 hours then missing that time, but they fixed that in a minute with one phone call.

Overall I'm a satisfied customer and would use them again without hesitation.

"Reasonable prices but lacking in customer service. I returned a non-functioning DVD burner and after about two weeks I had to call them to find out that they returned the unit to the manufacturer and were waiting for a replacement. I thought it was odd that they didn't simply send me a replacement unit but had to wait for the manufacturer. I finally recieved an email today that a replacement is being shipped (1/27/07) but no other info such as shipping company, tracking info, etc.
They were a bit rude on the phone and I didn't care for the tone of their return policy.
I will not do business with them again.

"Very good experience. I was a bit hesitant, but they seemed to check out on other sites too. Good price, shipped on time, good experience. I received the expected up-sell call, but was pleasantly surprised to only be asked my address 'for security reasons'. No upsell, which perhaps was obviated by my paying the $2.50 rush charge.

"Nothing but praise. Initially I was a little ansy about spending alot of money on a site I had never heard of (I found them through froogle), however the price was right, and although I chose standard shipping, I recieved the item the following day. "This company does not answer emails or phone calls. In fact, the person who last answered their number claimed it was a wrong number, even though it was an internal transfer. I ordered a Garmin c550 but have canceled the order and alerted my credit card company because I have no way to confirm that the company is even legit. I don't understand this seemingly new attitude held by online companies that not communicating with the customer is a good way to do business, but I do know that it is driving my business offline."

"With some trepidation, I ordered a Garmin c530 GPS unit, priced substantially under the competition, and $140 below Bass Pro Shop in my city, Memphis, Tenn. I instantly got an invoice by e-mail, and next day, received a phone call from a real person, checking the order, my address and contact information, and verifying everything. I had ordered the unit with 2nd day shipping, which was $19.95, far below the 9.8% sales tax I would have paid locally. The unit arrived on the morning of the second day, in excellent condition, a new unit, everything as advertised. Their customer service is great, telephone numbers are clearly provided, and you get to speak with a real person, right off the bat, no menus or voice mail, no "we'll-get-back-to-you" runaround. I called customer service again, after receiveing the unit, just to make certain I was right about them. A real man answered again, and we had a nice conversation about the transaction, which I rate AAA+ in my personal rating scale for Internet resellers, the highest rating I give. I believe this to be a most reliable Internet seller, and will do business with them again."
