"I don’t usually feel moved enough one way or the other to write reviews, but the outrageously bad experience I had with FuturePowerPC has compelled me to write one now. I purchased a PC system from FuturePowerPC, and immediately ran into problems when they tried to charge me sales tax even though they indicated on their website that they only charge sales tax to NY residents (which I am not). When we finally resolved this, the system was shipped to me and arrived late. Worse, it was DAMAGED. The return process was incredibly painful and difficult and took weeks, and finally after I returned it to them, THEY ACTUALLY CHARGED ME A 15% RESTOCKING FEE. For DAMAGED product! I demanded they take this off, and they refused. We then made an agreement where I would receive the 15% restocking fee in store credit, which I figured would be better than fighting them in court. So I placed another order, but then they refused to fill it... they RENEGED on their deal with me! Finally, to cap it all off, they BLATANTLY LIED to my credit card company and claimed I had kept back merchandise, which is a fraudulent statement. I am now being forced to pursue them more aggressively, but take a hint from me, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES."

"TERRIBLE!!! Never gave a tracking #, finally after 2 weeks and no product I called. They told me to ask the neighbors if they had my package, they didn't know where it was at. - They shipped a new one and it got lost; it's been a week and still no parts! STAY AWAY!!"

"BEWARE - DO NOT purchase anything from this place. I placed an order on 1/8/2010, it is now the 16th and I still do not have  my computer case, AND I asked for RUSH ORDER. The status of my order has been "Shipped - Tracking # Pending" since 1/12/10. Not only that, I called and and spoke with one of your customer service reps who had me on hold for 10 minutes, then said he had to transfer me to sales. . After I was on hold for another 10 minutes, he picked up the phone and said he would have to get someone to call me back. I asked him if my item had been shipped and he replied "yes". When I asked him who would be calling me back and his response was, "that guy Rich"...eh? That was at 3PM, and I never received no call from anyone at there company. I ordered from this site b/c newegg was all sold out of the case. I learned my lesson, next time ill just wait till newegg has what I want back in stock.

*UPDATE*

1/18/10 I recieved the following email:
"Unfortunately your case has been on back order and we are now able to aquire new inventory. However the price for the newer units is $20 higher. Please let us know how you would like to proceed." Since I really wanted the case I said ok, fine. After that the processed shipped quickly, I recieved it in two days. Then I realized they had given me the wrong case (it was the upgrade to the case I originally ordered), they should have made that more clear. When I asked how to get a refund, I got NO RESPONSE.

I'll never order from this place again.

"HORRIBLE. #1: Google indicated shipping would be $5.99. Upon checkout, shipping was $39.99. I decided I was still willing to pay, so I submitted the order. #2: I emailed them to inquire about the difference in shipping, I never received a response. #3 & 4: They held my order and contacted me, and when I was finally able to reach them, I found out that they needed to charge me sales tax in California, even though order checkout showed there was no sales tax, AND they wanted to charge an additional $100 for shipping. #5: When they asked how to proceed (email) I asked them to cancel my order, and confirm cancellation, and I never heard back from them.

These people are SCAMMERS as far as I'm concerned, nothing was as advertised, service was horrible.

"This place is a Joke!!!!
I paid the 4.99 to rush my order that they stated was in stock, then i paid for 2 day air service, now four days later they still havent shipped. I called and they said well we have 189 instock and we just missed it. Customer servive su!!!!. Would never use them again!!!!

"WATCH OUT!
Not as reliable as the stars indicate!
You may be buying another headache.
I ordered a wireless adapter because their ad indicated 11 in stock.
REALITY: They do not have ANY in stock!
Nothing at all was posted under my 'Order Status'.
No email to me explaining the item is OOS, either.
I had to phone to get the bad news.
They say they will have some 'soon'.
They are just NOT 4-stars!
I'm giving only 1 (but maybe something unexpectedly wonderful will happen soon. What do you think?)
I think they are only posing as a reliable supplier.

"Wouldnt take responsibility! I ordered a hard drive, and supposedly Fed Ex lost it. But after a 2 weeks of calling in to have them send me another package, they finally told me that it was out of stock, and they would refund me. Fine, I got credited for the hard drive, but not for the 2 weeks lost. They kept saying it wasnt thier fault, but I disagree. Stuff happens, and things get lost. Okay, but take responsibility! Fed Ex didnt force you to waste all that time instead of sending a replacement. "

"Sucks!! Don't buy here! Complete waste of time! Showed item as in stock, did not ship, did not advise via any method that item was waiting to be stocked. Customer service was terrible: phone lines sucked, cut me off, and use third party offshore call centers. Save money, time and frustration, go elsewhere!"

"I ordered a kodak zi8 from Futurepowerpc.com on September 3rd, and paid for expedited shipping. I received an e-mail that the order was processing. Nearly a week later after no word, I had to call the company and spoke to a rather rude and abrupt fellow who told me the item was back ordered and assured me it'd be mailed out the next day. Two days pass, still no email, no product, and instead of calling I canceled my order which, surprisingly, they processed quickly. It must be a familiar process for them.

Look at the reviews, don't order from this company! There are plenty of reputable companies out there, I've always admired Amazon's customer service.

"These guys saved my butt! I needed my server back up on SATURDAY and by the time I got to their customer service agent it was already 3pm! I was able to get them to ship out overnight for a saturday delivery and get my system back up and running. Definately a life saver and the woman I spoke to was so helpful."

"Seems to be a common problem with this site advertising a product at a certain price, but then turning around and saying they no longer have it in stock at that price. I too used their inventory check to confirm that a product I wanted was in stock. I got a quick reply, saying that it was available and could be shipped within 3-5 days, so I promptly placed my order. Five days later, *I* had to initiate a follow up, because the futurepowerpc website listed my order status as "New Order". That status remained unchanged since placing the order. The same day, I got an email reply stating that it wasn't actually in stock, because it was coming straight from the manufacturer, rather than from futurepowerpc, thereby making the initial inventory request complete nonsense (and a flat out lie). Later, I also recieved a phone call stating that they mispriced the item on top of everything, so if I still wanted it, then I needed to confirm. They would not honor the original listed price, so I quickly cancelled my order. A lot of time was wasted waiting for this purchase, and I can't imagine how much longer I would have ended up waiting if I didn't initiate the inquiry into the issue. I've ordered items from this company many years before, and I expected much better from them, only to be sorely disappointed."

"I ordered PNY GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV on 2/23/09 I get a call 2 days later from rep which is telling me that the cards is not available and do I want same thing without the game. I agreed. I called the company on 3/9/9 with a question about where is my card they tell me that PNY card is out of stock and PNY is making the card and it will be shipped sometime this week. I got upset they should have told me that when they had me on the phone. This is ridiculous. Future Power PC charged me on 2/25/09 for the card which is not made yet and they don’t have it. This is bad company with bad communication skills don’t order from them. I know that I will not."
