"3 weeks after placing an order, I get an email from them saying that I need to call them about my order. I called and they tell me that they do not have the product but can get it from another supplier if I pay them the extra $10!! What an atrocious business practice!
I hope I get the promised refund. Don't do business with these clowns.

"Wow, if I had read the reviews about this place before placing an order, I would have CERTAINLY ordered from Tiger Direct which is the BEST online retailer in the world. FuturePowerPC is garbage. Like everyone else, I have been getting the runaround on my order. Here I am one month later with no product. DO NOT EVERY BUY FROM THEM. Trust me, go to Tiger Direct, it will be well worth your time. GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE"

"I never write reviews but I have to in this case. I ordered a rechargeable battery for my calculator. I put in my shipping information and FuturePowerPC quoted me $6.99 for shipping to my APO address on a $21 battery. A 5 days later I received an email from them telling me that it would cost an extra $10 to ship via the USPS, $16.99 on a $21 battery. I wrote back and asked why they could not honor the order as it was calculated on their website using the APO address. I received no response. 2 days later I had to cancel the credit card I used on the order due to fraudulent use in New York, home of the company. Then I received another email asking for the $10 to ship the battery. I called the company to let them know about the problems and they told me that shipping via the USPS costs more but is not calculated on the web site at the time of sale. They were trying to up-sale me on the shipping classic, bait and switch. I canceled the order, and now I have to wait on my new credit card to arrive before I can buy elsewhere, which I will."

"I place my order on the 22nd of Sep. I called a week later since I didn't hear anything, they said that the item is back-ordered till the 10th, then on the 8th, i still didn't hear anything so I called again and they said, sorry we forgot to place your order or charge your Card, but we can do it now and if the manufacturer has the item it will take about 14 Business days. I was very upset at this point I said can you at least ship it to me overnight, the salesman said no and there is nothing I can do about it, I said I really need this part soon, he said "as I said sir nothing I can do about it, you can cancel the order if you like. Again they do not care about their customers, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, read all the negative reviews"

"FUTUREPOWERPC IS A RETAIL SCAM. CALL YOUR BANK NOW IF YOU ORDERED FROM THEM.

If I could give them a 0 I would. Here's my story:

I received an email listing the invoice number, charges, and shipping method shortly after placing my order online. It came as no surprise that my shipping information was not available in the first automated message from a retailer. After several days I became curious about where my package was in the world. I still had not received an update on their website in the "Order Status" page of my order number. It was still "processing."

I tried to obtain tracking and shipping information several days after placing the order. My support ticket number was 1015495 which I received after submitting the request for the information. No communication followed.

I attempted to use their '24/7' online customer service chat webtool to find out more, but after two attempts to get the attention of the 'customer service agent' who should have been monitoring incoming chat requests the tool would no longer send messages. Needless to say no one attempted to assist me through this tool.

I went online and typed FuturepowerPC into Google and the first result which wasn't FuturepowerPC's actual website was Resellerratings.com (http://www.resellerratings.com/store/FuturePowerPC). This site was full of hundreds of warnings from people who had been scammed by FuturepowerPC dating from just two days before I placed my order
back to 2003. I read through most recent 75 horror stories which all read roughly something to the effect that after weeks or months of waiting they never received any product of any kind and were out the money they paid. I immediately decided to cancel my "order."

I called Futurepowerpc's ***-***-**** which was listed on their website as the 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST contact number. I spoke to Andy and asked him to cancel my order. He told me he could not cancel it. I remained silent on the phone for several moments. After some time he said he would look into the order and see if he could make sense of what he was seeing on his screen. After several more moments he told me that package had already been shipped. I remained silent once again. I thought to myself, how odd it was that a retailer would not send me a tracking number on the 7th, 8th, 8th, or 10th as well as not charge my card, but would, in fact, place an order to have it shipped factory direct to me. I assume they had to pay the factory to have my order shipped, so why hadn't they charged me? Andy then told
me to expect the package on Monday 13th. He asked if I wanted to give it another business day. I told him that I did not, I wanted to cancel the order. (As far as I could tell this order was not processed, let alone shipped.) He said it would not be possible to cancel the order, it needed to be escalated to the next level. Whatever that may be. I told him to see what he could do to cancel my order and in any event the package would be refused. He said that would complicate things on their end but to rest assured that they would be able to handle it.

Four days later I received an email which stated, "You have recently placed an order of "NOCTUA NH-D14 CPU COOLER 140X140X25MM INTEL COREI7 I5 LGA775 AMD AM2 RETAIL  [NH-D14]" with our company. Our warehouse has received a new shipment and we now have stock. We need to confirm if you still need your order shipped. You can contact us electronically from our website or you can call us At ***-***-****/888-871-3133. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm EST."

Seeing as I didn't want the item when I called and asked to have the order cancelled, I could hardly see why I would want a SECOND COPY of the item. Especially seeing as I was told the item had been shipped days ago when I originally called, an item that was, in fact, due to arrive the day prior to the day I received this email, or so I was told.

I was given a generous 81 minutes before another email came in stating, "[Your item] will be shipping out today with tracking to follow in the morning." That disturbed me because not only did I call to cancel the order, but I did not contact them to send me what I would call an unsolicited item for which they have scheduled a charge on my account.

Hopefully I'll be spared some heartache by being proactive and documenting my dealings with this "company" when my dispute is reviewed by my bank. Hopefully you can either do the same or avoid this scam all together.

"This is one of the worst companies I had to deal with.After a couple of days of placing the order they sent me an email that the order was cancelled. The next day they called me that it was a mistake. I got the product in ~ 2 weeks, and it was the wrong item. It took them more than a week to issue an RMA, and I had to pay for the shipping.They received the product but they would not credit my card back even after several calls and emails. I had to complain to my CC company to get my money back. The WORST company ever!!! "

"Placed an order and paid through paypal. The order was cancele next day and i received an email the day after. The product page said in stock and when i called they said the only one they had was severly damaged. I asked when it would be canceled through paypal and they weren't sure. The order is still pending and showing up on my credit card as of september 2nd. "

"Terrible vendor! Item was listed as in stock but wasn't. Had to be ordered from manufacturer - an additional 3 to 5 days. I said ok. They charged my credit card the same day. One month later I'm still waiting for merchandise. Item was listed as "shipped pending tracking number" for about 3 weeks. Sent several emails asking for information and received no response. Finally called them and the customer service person said they would call the factory and then call me right back afterwards. No call back. Called again and was eventually told the item was discontinued! They've had my money for over a month and provided absolutely no service whatsoever. Nothing but aggravation! "

My item was reported as ONE in stock, and was an insanely popular product...seems shaddy to me. Stock quantity number never changes on their site also.

"I attempted to place an order from this site. The site indicated they had 172 in stock. I contacted the site a day after I placed the order to check the status. They told me the item had been discontinued. Now I have to wait for paypal to refund my money so I can buy it from someone who actually has it. PS, They still show they have 172 of the item in stock."

"The worst experience with an online seller ever. I'll start at the beginning. They had the best price for a Netgear ReadyNAS I could find on the internet. $40 less than the next cheapest (they listed it for $250 shipped). So I jumped on it and placed my order.

At this time, they showed 72 in stock. A few days later, I get an email saying to call them so I do (BTW, their number randomly doesn't work or is busy). They told me the item was out of stock. I told them they should fix their site to reflect that. I asked when they would get more in and they said 8/20/10. I was not in a rush so I said I would wait and to leave the order open. They seemed fine with that and we ended the call.

The next morning I log into their site to find out they canceled my order. On top of that, the stock on that item was now showing 94 which was more than when I placed the order. I was fairly upset and called them.

The guy I spoke to (Rich who is the manager) told me that the price was a misprint. So now I'm getting a different story which may be right but if that's the case, why did they lie to me? After complaining about the service I was receiving, Rich offered to honor the price I agreed to and reopened my order but said that they were still out of stock. I didn't really care as long as I got the product.

Then, for the next 2 days I kept getting emails to call them. So I did and every time I called, they said there was no reason for me to call.

After those two days, I logged in again and saw that my order had been canceled again. I talked to Adam through their live help chat who simply told me that the order was no longer available from his distributor at that price. I asked why they had them in stock and he told me they had them from another distributor but they were more expensive. I informed him about my previous interactions with Rich but still said he could do nothing. I told him I would call Rich.

So I tried to call Rich but both of their numbers were giving me some automated message about the number being unavailable which I had happen to me multiple times before. I gave up after a few and asked Adam to have Rich call me.

Rich did call me after about 5 minutes and told me the owner reviewed my order and canceled it. I told him how unhappy I was and he said his hands were tied. I have never had to waste so much time with a retailer in my life. They were dishonest and unprofessional. Stay away from these guys. It's worth a few extra bucks to go elsewhere like newegg who beats most of their prices anyway.

"I ordered a cooling fan for my pc on June 20, 2010 from FuturePowerPC.com. It said it was in stock and would be shipped with in 24 hours. It is now August 8th, 2010. I called the company, and got a woman who could not speak english very well, and was told my item was on back order. When I told the women about all of these reviews stating that they all had the same problems she put me on the phone with a manager. I told him how mad I was, and also told him about of the poor reviews for saying an item was in stock when it was not. He got irritated with me and said they had one in stock that was broken and was being returned. When I asked him why they did not update the site to say it was out of stock he asked me what I would like to do with my order. I told him I would like to cancel my order. Here is where it gets good.....the MANAGER told me sure thing and HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I hope I get my money back!! If I do not I will write another review!! This company is BY FAR THE WORST I have ever dealt with!!! I believe it is a SCAM!! They lie, and they have TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Buyer beware!! Do not buy anything from these people!! Go threw TigerDirect!! I have never had an issue with them!! Good luck to all of you who are reading this after they have already ordered!!! My advice to you is cancel your order ASAP!!"

"This one is pretty cut and dry. I ordered a $550 Graphics card and my card was charged immediately through paypal. Come to find out on Monday when I call to get a tracking number, they do not have any in stock and they tell me they are refunding the money to my PayPal account. No apologies for the inconvinience or any customer sevice skills. Waste of my time.

Update:

FuturePowerPC cancelled the PayPal transaction, but the pending transaction was still on my bank account. **Note for future PayPal users** You may call your bank and 3-way conference PayPal to get the charge of your account immediately.

"there web site stated that they had the item in stock and and it was available. they had no problem taking my payment but as for shipping the item... good luck. this is a old and dirty sales ploy. first drag them in. a good motherboard for 11.00 what a buy. and then they will tell you o but its ok.you can use your payment towards another item. how ever this new item will be around $200."
