"The order was placed on Monday, October 6th, 2003... I received a call on Wednesday confirming the order and seeing if I wanted to make any additional upgrades to the part I ordered. I refused, saying I ordered what I wanted, and didn't need anything else. One day later, I was told there were errors with my credit card information via auto-responder emails, and despite my attempts to rectivy the "credit card info errors", I had my order cancelled via another inpersonal auto-reponder email. I suggest stay away from this retailer."

I know that there have been some erroneous reports registered agains TufShop and from what I can see, those reports the result of user confusion and/or a misunderstanding of the seller/buyer relationship. In the case of TufShop, those bad reports are a tiny fraction of the thousands of sales made and ResellerRatings needs to find a way to present a more balanced picture.

"Unless you want the WORST hassle that you have EVER endured from ANY online retailer DO NOT - I repeat DO NOT do business with these people!!!! I placed a SIMPLE order for ONE OEM Athlon XP2200+ processor on Wednesday evening September 24 with TUFSHOP based on the fact that they had the best price according to PRICEWATCH. When I got home from work Friday evening I had both an email AND a phone message stating that "there is a problem in the financial department with your order" and " you need to contact us at this (NOT toll-free) number, so I called. The sales rep first tried to sell me a boxed processor with heat sink and fan for $25 MORE than the OEM processor I ordered. I informed him that I DID IN FACT WANT EXACTLY THE ITEM THAT I HAD ORDERED ONLINE. Then he proceeds to tell me that there was some information missing from my order (CVS number and shipping address) which I HAD entered on their website BUT I gave it to him again AND asked if he could assure me that my order would be shipped on Monday (when their "FINANCIAL" department was open again!!!!!) and he assured me that it would. Well - believe it or not!! - when I got home from work on Monday I had ANOTHER phone message identical to the one on Friday so I called AGAIN and went through the SAME DRILL!!! Again I was assured that my order would be shipped on TUESDAY NOW! Well guess what? No phone message or email (thank GOD) but I checked my order status on their website and NO INFORMATION either Sooooooo I called them AGAIN - LONG DISTANCE AGAIN!!!!, and was told that "there is a problem with the FINANCIAL department with your order" and they are currently CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I cancelled my order and ordered from a REPUTABLE online retailer.
AGAIN - Unless you want the BIGGEST hassle you have ever endured DO NOT do business with these people. They are the online equivalent of a shyster car salesman!

"TufShop sold me an ASROCK Board with an XXP1800 Retail included that their web-site said was in stock, but they did not have it in stock. They proceded to call me and try to sell me an XP1900 with the same board for "only $14-15 dolla more." I told them that this was wrong and that I would not like the order to be upgraded for that amount because thier website listed the same board with the 1900 for only $.91 more. They are liars and cheats. I am currently working on a class action suit against them for violation of Federal Trade Commision and Fair Advertising regulations. NEVER NEVER NEVER work with them even again!!!!"
"These guys are crooks; I paid extra to have the motherboard tested. I don’t believe the even touch the motherboard.
1. The fan that they sent was defective.
2. The motherboard was also defective and I was unable to get any type video card to even work with it.
Also there support is terrible it takes them over 24 hours to respond to an email and then they keep on telling you to email someone else to get your answers.
BUYER BEWARE!
Yet the story goes on:
1. It took three weeks for me to get a RMA number from them.
2. After sending the stuff back it took two more weeks for me to get it back.
3. They sent a new fan but they also sent the EXACT defective motherboard back to me.
4. So here I am 2 months after I ordered the machine with a broken motherboard.

"Happy with the motherboard/CPU combo, but not happy with the ram upgrade i purchased. My original order was to upgrade a single 1gb stick of ram @ PC2700 333mhz. For some reason I received 2 sticks of 512mb PC2700 333mhz. Being a computer person in the field for DELL, I know that i will get better performance out of the single 1gb stick. We need to fix this order."
