"I had to leave feed back on this company. Buyer Beware! Their practices are unorthodox. I purchased a canon EF 70-300mm zoom lens. The price was great. Come Monday morning a nice sales guy calls me and ask me for my address and cvc number on the back of my credit card. I give it to him. He tells me this is a very nice lens and asks what kind of lens protector would I like with it. I tell him whatever one he recommends because it is free. He says the glass one is best it's double coated UV. Then he asks what kind of camera I have. i tell him a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. He tells me it's a beautiful camera. Then he informs me that the lens that I purchased isn't made for the type of camera I have because it's not digital. I know the lens is perfect for this camera but remain quiet as he attempts to sell me a Sigma 70-300 mm lens telling me it is a much better fit and it's made for my camera. He also lets me know he is being a bad sales person because he is loosing money selling me a cheaper item. He said I would save $69 dollars and get a better lens. I knew the the Sigma lens was already over priced by about $100.00 at $299.00. I tell him I like canon lens and want that. He then proceeds to try and sell me other lens telling me my needs. The next lens he offer is a cannon Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom. I tell him I just want the one I ordered. He tells me he just put the glass UV filter on it and it will ship. We low and behold I got a email stating they didn't have the lens in and it would be a 1 to 2 week wait but I could cancel my order if I wanted too. I called and the guy told me it would be a few weeks. He asked if I wanted to cancel my order I did. I wasted enough time and energy and just canceled my order. "

"BAIT & SWITCH!!! They list great price for what you want, then call you saying they don't have that item but they have a much more superior item at a much higher price. They will even give you a discount on that much more expensive item, but they will not give you the item you want!!! I cancelled my order!"

"I bought for 499$ worth of camera and called them back to tell them I was charged a 20$ too much, the customer service guy just called me Stupid French and hung up on me.
EDITED: Just talked to Anthony (manager of customer service) and he took care of everything.
I'm very happy with my camera and the price I paid for.

"One of the worst online shopping experiences I've ever had! I ordered the canon eos xsi w/18-55 lense at what I thought was an excellent price, I called customer service prior to placing the order to specifically make sure a battery was included in the package and was assured by the rep that it was. I later got an email saying I had to call to confirm my order, when I did it was classic bait & switch. The rep Steven, told me there'd be no battery in my order and tried to sell me a battery/charger package at an outrageous price compared to what the canon website charges. He tried pressuring me by claiming they only had 1 camera left in stock and I should place my order immediately to get the deal. When I didn't go for the bait he became argumentative and told me he'd have to cancel the entire order if I didn't want the batteries, so I cancelled the order and am angry that this company wasted my time."

"I received my order today and found that the 2 free items were missing from the package. I entered the code for the Free Tripod, Lense Cleaning Kit & Screen Protector which was missing from the order. Also I entered the code FREEBATT for the "Buy 1 Batter Get 1 Free" offer and the second 5-Hour High capacity battery was also missing.
I was very favorably impressed on the rapid delivery of my order even though it was missing the 2 free items. Thanks for your assistance.

"I had a mixed impression to this store... My recent one was very negative. I ordered a Canon 7d body 2 weeks ago. They called me back to lure me buy "high power battery". Even after I add $200 more, they still let me wait 3-4 weeks for the "imported" camera from "Japan". And then in a few days they cancelled my order. When I called and asked why, they told me they don't sell Canon 7d anymore. Of course they are. I'm really unhappy that they play this bait and switch game................However, to be fair, I did have a positive experience. I bought a 24-105mm L lens on Apr this year. Although they suggested "upgrade", I didn't agreeed and finally I got a very good lens with great price........"

"This was probably my worse experience ever with an online transaction. I will take responsibility for not doing the proper research about this seller, ratings are pretty bad now that actually looked it up. I share some of the opinion by other reviewers as well.
The seller is very shady and do not have the best interest for the buyers. Same scenarios as other buyers where an email was sent for the buyer to call in, the purpose was to inform the buyer that the item does not com with accessories that are supposed to come with the item and to do pressure sell like use car salesman. In this case it was a Sony a380 that did not come with a battery or charger.
Then dealing with the "owner" trying to return the item was even worse, he actually hung up the phone on his customer citing that he was yelled at. Hope no one will give this seller anymore business because I will not ever deal with Thunder Cameras again.

I did lot of research on internet and also went to camera shops before making this deal. I purchased because prices were lowest on Thunder Cameras and whatever sales person informed me was correct when I checked after I finished talking to him.

I am writing this to thank them to help me select the right product. I had some questions on my purchase so I called them. Sales person was open to hear my problems and issues. His reply were 100% satisfactory. They are fair in providing information. I asked him to wait on the order until I can confirm details provided by him to which he agreed, which was quite surprising. His information and suggestions came true and I confirmed the order.

Sales person encouraged me to look into the issue of imported versus US version on the canon body and he informed me that there are three main issues involved imported camera body is plastic, will not have warranty from canon, instruction language is other then English. In addition, to this he also informed me that imported camera does not come with battery and battery charger. One more thing which I liked he informed me before hand that they will not take it back. I am wondering if I would have taken this camera I would have cried afterwards, I would have posted a bad review, because I never expected that imported version will have so much of issues involved.

I agree with some of the reviews that they advertise less price which are imported which attracts, but when we talk to sales person they sale high price product. Yes it is right they advertise less priced imported items, but I would say these high value items buyer need to talk to sales persons and if sales persons provide fair information to the satisfaction and they and the company are honest nothing like it.

In whole yes I got converted form imported to US version and I made correct decision I thank sales person Andy for helping me. I will recommend them to others and will buy again. Only thing to note is before confirmation or order talk to sales person and understand details of the product you are purchasing.

"Update: Tuesday afternoon: My lens arrived. It's great. My only concern is that the warranty card lists "European Warranty System" and not USA. I called Canon and they said technically if there is a problem while it's under warranty it could have to be sent to the warranty site listed on the warranty card. I'm going to hope for the best because I am definitely not sending it back to Thunder Camera. Just another way to remind you that this company is not an authorized Canon dealer.

Update: Tuesday Morning. My tracking number arrived (guess they read my review). Unlike his promise to ship it to me last week, it didn't actually ship out until the Monday the 25th when Andy & I spoke Wednesday the 20th. However, it's on the way and I have the UPS tracking info to show for it.

Update: Monday has come and gone and no lens. I did get a shipping email, but guess what wasn't included? The tracking number. So instead of tracking it, I'm complaining here at yet another frustration in the process.

I just got off the phone with Andy, who contacted me immediately after reading my rating. He is, indeed, making sure that my lens is shipped and promised it will arrive to me by Monday. Stay tuned for the update, maybe it will turn out well after all.

In early August, I received a camera lens as a gift from Thunder Camera and I wanted to exchange it for a different lens. After 3 1/2 weeks of at least 6 phone calls to Steven from Thunder Camera (where I waited on hold for an average of 20 minutes each call), I finally had no other option but to agree to their “up-sell” of a $1350 lens that was currently retailing elsewhere for $1060. Since it was an exchange, I paid the difference of $399 and my credit card was charged immediately on September 1st.

The gist of Thunder Camera’s sale strategy is to lure you with a low price and then to convince you that the low price is a poor quality and that you need to buy a higher price option. In this case, Thunder tried to convince me that the lower price model of the lens I wanted had a “plastic mount” and the more expensive model had a “steel mount”. I asked, and was given, the Canon model numbers from Thunder to do research on my own. Guess what? According to Canon, the two different models do not exist. Canon only makes one model of each lens...full stop. Thunder Camera is totally fabricating this sales technique and if you do the research you will find it is NOT TRUE. In addition, the representative I spoke with at Canon USA told me that Thunder Camera is not an authorized Canon dealer and this was the second phone call he had received that week with customers who had questions about Thunder. However, since my original lens was a gift, I had no option other than to deal with the company.

I mailed my lens on September 3rd via UPS ground with an expected delivery date to Thunder of September 13th.

I called Thunder Camera on October 6th and was told that my lens mailed via UPS on September 29th and had an expected delivery date to me of October 13th or 14th. Although I asked for tracking information, Steven could not provide this for me. So I asked him to email me the shipping information for my records, which he said he would do, but never did.

It’s now October 18th and guess what? No lens. I will call Steven tomorrow to see where my lens is.

This company is a BAD company to work with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them.

" "Ordered form company over the Internet. The next morning I get a call from customer service, asking me if I want to upgrade the zoom lens and the battery and charger. The upgrade for the battery and charger is about 120.00 dollars. The upgrades are recommended because the battery will be able to take a lot more pictures before needing to be recharged and the charger was better because it would fully discharge the battery before it recharged it. This is where the problem lye's. When I received the Camera, the charger didn't seem special nor did the battery. I called the company and customer service said that battery and charger are the upgrades. Looking on the Canon web site the number battery and charger are the same as the ones that come with the camera. Plus I ordered 2 lenses with the order and only received 1. I never did receive the Digital Flash I should have gotten with the order also. And for some odd reason they have Not answered ANY of my emails. Do yourself a favor, Do NOT order from this company........"

A follow up to this review.....

After posting this review I received a phone call from customer service. They asked what they could do for me to rescind this review. Well we settled on a refund of 50.00 dollars on my credit card and that the lens and the flash were on the way. This was on the 18th of October. Nothing has happened.

DO NOT ORDER from This Company!!! You will be Disappointed!!

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! These guys are scam artists - completely took me for a ride! They advertise the camera to be cheaper online with a "High powered Battery and Rapid Charger" and what they charge you extra for is what comes with the camera (normally). I called and spoke with the customer service department and he tried to give me this story about how his batteries are better, etc - i called the manufacture and he said what this company charged me $125.00 for - it's $25.00 in any other store.

Just do yourself a favor - just move on.

Once you order you will auto-magically start getting the answering machine saying they are closed and they will not respond to your emails.

They are not who they claim to be....just move on.
