"Do Not order from this company unless you want headaches. I was talked out of the canon 24-70mm f2.8 l lens (Plastic Mount) for the SIGMA 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG. They claimed that it was a new model being released in September, is as good as the canon, worth more. This is false advertisement on their website and salespersons. They charged me 890 for this lens when you can order the same lens for 600 dollars all day long. If you order from this company, only order what you know is real and is a good deal. In fact I contacted Sigma and they do not have a new model lens. I returned the lens for the one that I originally wanted. In discussions with the manager, we came to an agreement. Upon my understanding what is the difference between their $999 canon 24-70mm f2.8 l lens(plastic mount) and $1350 canon 24-70mm f2.8 l lens (steel mount). I was going to order the USA warranted 24-70mm f2.8 l (steel mount) lens for an additional fee. Ironically they accidently shipped my lens to Hawaii instead of SC where I live. Two weeks later I finally received the lens that I had ordered. Upon receiving the box I noted that the lens was an imported lens. Again a switch made by this company. I was told that I was going to receive the US model but didn’t receive it. Buyer Beware.

"I ordered a Canon 100-400 L IS lens from Thunder while talking to the "Canon Technician" who called himself Rodger. After failing to get me to switch to a Sigma lens he took my order for the Canon lens and a UV filter to fit. Rodger told me the lens "should" be in stock and "should" ship in 1-2 days. After about 8 days I called and talked to Andy and he informed me the lens had to come from overseas and it would take 2 weeks. I waited another 8 days and sent an E-Mail to Customer Service and no-one ever responded. I waited another 8 days bring me to the 17th of Nov. and sent an E-Mail to sales and got a response the following day that my order was canceled. I called customer service wanting to know who canceled my order and why and was told the factory was having problems producing the lens and Thunder canceled the order. I immediately confirmed the cancellation of my order and informed the rep that they would not get a good review from me. I waited nearly a month for a lens that was never to be in the first place. BUYER BEWARE!! If you don't order what they want to sell you chances are you won't get anything. STAY AWAY FROM THUNDER CAMERA!!

Just talked to Steve,from Thunder,at his request, and he was very persistent in trying to sell me the more expensive non import lens. He told me the import lens had a plastic mount and was an inferior product compared to the USA model. Canon "L" lenses, made by an authorized Canon manufacturer, would all be made to the same rigid specifications no mater where in the world they are made. I stand by my original statement and if anyone else from Thunder wants to discuss this matter they know where to get me.
I am also in the process of contacting Canon Corp to see where their inferior "L" lens line is produced and if they indeed use plastic mounts. I will update this review as necessary.

"Recently I purchased a Canon 100-400mm lens online. Shortly after the transaction was completed, I received a telephone call from "Andy" stating the lens was incompatible with my camera. I was then offered a lens that I had no previous experience with for no additional charge. I agreed to accept the replacement lens with the understanding that if I were dissatisfied in any way, I had 30 days to return it for a full refund. Andy confirmed the company's 30-day return policy as stated on the website.

Once the lens arrived, I discovered, through online research, that it was being offered for $400.00 LESS through other vendors and that it was very large and cumbersome to handle. I used the lens for 2 days before ultimately deciding to return it.

On November 21,2010 Robert(ext 103)with Thunder Cameras called to discuss this review and offered me several options to rectify the problems I had with the lens and the customer service team.

I have ordered canon camera from and its accessories from Thunder camera.But Thunder camera send me cheap sigma lenses.When I called Thunder camera,Thunder camera send me canon lenses but wrong and cheaper one than what I order.(I have ordered EF-S 17-85mm and EFS 70-300mm but Thunder camera send me 55-250mm nad 18-135mm).I have ordered $299.00 - 5 Year Accidental coverage Worldwide Professional Extended Warranty Service
but thye gave me $124.99 - 5 Year Worldwide Extended Warranty.Total amount website shows was $1,288.00,but Thunder camera took $1524.00 from my credit card.

I am a new victim to this fraudulent company,Thunder camera.

By far, the lowest pricing that I found for my camera equipment on the internet was from THUNDER CAMERAS. The sales force was very knowledgeable and helped me select the best camera package that fit my particular needs. So far, everything that was sent was as promised; and, when there was a problem, it was addressed in a timely and acceptable matter. While there are a few remaining issues, I have all the confidence that they too will be resolved. I have no problem in recommending THUNDER CAMERAS to my friends and family. "I called Thunder Cameras and inquired about the D9o they had for sale. I was fairly sure that it was a grey model which they confirmed. They did say that they had the US model for $699.00 which I chose to get. During my conversation, the sale person asked if I wanted any lenses or a better battery as the one that came with it only lasted a short time. I said no to both but did buy the extended warranty. The sales person said he was going to throw in a better battery for free. I did not hear from them for several days until I called and asked for an e-mail confirming my purchase. When I got the e-mail I saw that I had been charged $824.00 When I called to ask about the price I was told that I was sold the package with the battery and that $24.00 was for insurance. That had not been mentioned when I purchased the camera. I called Nikon due to the fact that there was no warranty card and I wa stold the cammera was already registered. I asked them if a bettery and battery charger was included and they said yes it should have been. While it is only a difference of $64.00 from what I was told, I am disapointed by the misinformation that I got from them. I would have liked to purchase other things in the future but now have concerns over the pricing methods. "

"People, watch out for this business. I had the same situation as the person who wrote a review on Nov, 4 2010. If you think you will buy the cheapest stuff here, you are totally wrong. If a business is rated below 9, you should not do any business with them. If you do, you will waste your time and money for nothing."

"Hello,

I found Thundercameras.com on the web and was amazed at their unbelievably reasonable prices (first red flag). I wish that I would've found all the different websites regarding the numerous negative complaints filed against this company before placing my order. Unfortunately, I didn't and placed an order for the Canon T21 which they had unbelievably priced for only $529 with free shipping and a free flash. Their website specifically stated "Usually ships in 1 to 2 business days." Being sold by the looks of the website and positive testimonials, I placed the order and immediately received a confirmation number. I was really excited to hear I was getting such a good deal! The very next day I received an E-mail stating a rep needed to speak with me regarding my order. I called and spoke with a salesman who asked for the three digit code from the back of my credit card. Immediately after, he tried to talk me out of the camera saying it was an import and the menus would be in Japanese and that I should buy the Domestic version which is much higher! I told him no and that I was happy with the import model. He acted very angry and said whatever, and proceeded to harp on it having no warranty, no battery, and no charger. Regardless, I said that was OK. The very next day I received an E-mail stating the Canon T2i had just went on back order right around the time I placed my order and it could take up to a month to get (what a coincidence). Well, the order was placed on Oct 1st and am still waiting and as of today it's been well over a month! I have actually called them on four different occasions yet they just keep on telling me they expect them in about another week? In the meantime, I noticed they still have the same camera listed yet the price is now $699 and amazingly it still shows "Usually ships in 1 to 2 days." I decided to call and inquire about the camera as though I was a new customer. I asked the sales rep if I ordered the camera today, is it in stock so I could expect it soon? The salesman specifically stated "yes" this camera is in stock and will ship immediately! Well, that sure was odd considering every time I call about my order for the same item, they keep telling me to wait about another week due to it still being on back order. When I immediately called back to confront the manager regarding this, would you believe he actually told me they are just telling customers this to get sales and meet their quota!! How fair is this to us as a customer? These guys are out and out crooks!!! I have also approached the support link on their website and tried to contact them in writing inquiring about my order, and to this day, they have never even replied or so much as called me to let me know what's going on with my order. I have finally come to the realization they are never going to make right on this order! My advise for anyone considering doing business with this company is to stay as far away them as possible. If not, you will definitely be deceived and dissatisfied to say the least. I plan on filing numerous other complaints such as the office of the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. I have taken the time to write all of this so that hopefully it won't happen to you!!

UPDATE:
I placed this review on Saturday Nov 6st, and amazingly they called me on Sunday stating if I would remove this review they would ship my order yet with a different lens! They specifically stated they would not ship it until I removed my review!! These people are the worst I've ever dealt with on the internet! My advise is to stay far far away from these crooks!!!!!!

"I ordered online Canon 60D because it was at $799 with free shipping. not even 15 minutes I received a call for my credit card cvv#, and then of course they hit you with you are ordering an import model not the US model. As you noticed the bait and switch game started. So from $799 we go up to $1492.00 having the US model 8GB memory card overpriced and a hidden fee of $83 for insurance. Then you receive an email saying that I will get in Nov 20th, at that point it was becoming unacceptable to me that an item on stock I have to wait 3 weeks to get it. That’s when I decided to go ahead and do what I should have done in the first place, research the seller and found the same the scam being played on me. So I decided to cancel my order and do business somewhere else, called thundercameras customer service to cancel, they give me an excuse that my order has been shipped, when I asked them to give me a tracking number, guess what they could not give me one. At this point they do not want cancel my order. And I'm having a feeling that my bad experience will be the same as many other customers trying to get the money back because of there bait and switch scam.

I will say the same thing A LOT of previous customers are saying: "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY"

Thundercameras.com don't ship my order and give me a full refund ASAP.

Shorlty after my first review the, I recieved a call from Thunder Cameras, Guess what?? They called me to say they shipped my order 2nd Day and gave a tracking number, and in return I needed to remove my negative review. I though about for a bit and decide to see the shipping information to show with tracking number, better yet I decided to wait for the package to be delivered home. I got my Camera from a different mail carrier than the package they gave me the tracking number before, that was the other part of the order. Before going to pickup my packages, I get another call from Thunder Cameras, to make it short guess what they ask?? "Did you get your camera?, could you remove the negative remarks?" I told them I was really not happy at the moment by how the whole situation has gone, and I will find out when I pick up the packages after work.
The camera looked good and new, but no warranty card. My question to Thunder Cameras is what is your issue by leaving out the warranty card?

Then the rest of the order, which is you buy one compact flash and you get another free. Guess what??? You might know the answer to this one if you have been a previous customer. I got one.

The funny part is, CANON Sells by kits, if you buy body only, you still get a kit. What does the kit compose? Well, the camera, video and usb cables, software, manuals, battery and charger.
I was charged for the battery charge separately and this is part of the kit. I was super over charged for the buy one Compact flash and get one free. And only receive one card.

People, if you look at other forums of customers expeiences about Thunder Cameras, you will find the same shady practice mention over and over.

I really recommend you do a truthful review, and if it is shady and bad. Report it to the FBI, file complaint with the NY Attorney General's Office and try to get the media invlovled. Because that's what I am doing.

Absolutely NEVER EVER buy from these guys.

Run Forest!! RUN!!!!

I've learned my lesson and gained experience of the type of scam they are running.

"CAUTION CAUTION!!! Overpriced compared to other vendors, didnt shop around as much as I should have.
Way OVER priced on shipping and insurance.
Charged 6% on ALL orders, UPS does NOT charge that much. $29 for 3 day shipping on a 2 lb. camera. UPS charge total about $17 for shipping and insurance. Do NOT buy from them!

"Well, the package came on time as scheduled. It was not packed in original boxes. I had the manuals and software CD ROM but no warranty and registration card. How does one tell if its original ? Also, I dont know what is the difference between Nikon-USA model and M-4 model for D-90. I still like the equipment but not sure if I have been swindled. I hope not!! Prices are good and equipment works great. Even if its a open box or used once kind of deal, I would recommend them. Just not sure if these changes are done to prevent shipping damage."
