I love this company

"I have ordered from Swiss Colony for years. I always order by mail order. Not internet. And I do not have a Swiss Colony credit card. But I have always been very pleased with my order. I definitely plan on ordering again this year.
I do agree with other reviews that shipping is pretty pricey, but this is a great way to send a gift without wrapping and going to FedEx yourself.

"Midnight Velvet, Swiss, Ginnys all pull hard inquires on your credit even when you have not approved such and you have a supposed credit line with them."

Poor customer service & poor products

"I ordered from Swiss Colony last year and was told my credit limit was $400. I ordered products...the popcorn was stale, the cheese was old. I did receive a refund on the popcorn. I was advised later that my credit was not really approved, but I had approved credit?!?!
I had a shouting match with a customer service rep because I paid a few days late. I just called as I am paying off the account and asked when they would report my credit history to the three major bureaus. I was told by Joshua that they report every month, at the end of the month...then he hung up on me. I spoke with another gent who said they only report you if you go into collections. This is not what I was told when I opened the account. Poor products, poor service. Do yourself a favor...just order holiday treats from your local grocer, etc. This company is horrible.

Payments not being reflected and monthly finance charges. Saves card information without your consent.

"Regardless of making timely payments every month, my bill never seems to decrease. Every month I am charged a finance fee of at least $10 plus my monthly payment charge. Also I noticed that some of my payments were not reflected on my monthly statements. They also saved my credit card information to their website and there is no way to remove it. Believe me I have tried. When I called customer service I was placed on hold for 15 mins. while they tried to locate the "lost" payments. Good thing I keep all my correspondence from them in a folder as I was able to show they got the money, but never credited it to my account. Finally they located them after I gave the confirmation numbers and threatened to reverse payment. Thinking very seriously of cancelling the card so they can no longer access it and just send money orders. I will NOT be ordering from them again in the future."

Very Deceptive

"I was placing my order on their payment plan, trying to build up my credit..When they say if you give a down payment you will be instantly approved. Not instantly denied or approved, but APPROVED.
I emailed them about it and they thought i needed to be reminded of how credit applications work. I'm aware, they are deceptive and liars. Im broken hearted that Figis is shutting down, so much better service and products.

Wow, can't read the numbers!

"I took a chance and placed an order for one of my clients of 25+ years for her Birthday. To me it's a big deal for her to know that I am thinking of her. I care about having her be surprised on her Birthday! When I placed the order (which I did on the telephone the third week of February) just to be SURE she would be surprised on her birthday), and requested delivery for March 10th (actually the 8th or 9th would have been acceptable) you people JUMPED THE GUN! She let me know how thoughtful the gift was for her Birthday 5 DAYS EARLY!!! Wow, a Birthday surprise 5 days early just doesn't cut it as far as I'm concerned. My card was charged 3/1 for delivery on 3/10.
I specifically asked for the delivery to be timely but how on Earth did the shipping person think it would take 7-10 DAYS TO REACH THE RECIPIENT?
Needless to say I won't be doing business with Swiss Colony again.
Poor shipping and timing!

NOT THE SAME AS IN THE PAST

"I used Swiss Colony in the past and was happy with the whole experience. This year I used them and it was like dealing with another company. Not only were the products not worth the money, but after receiving my first bill due 3/5 I received a phone call at 9 am by a representative who interrogated me about when and how I was paying 6 days before it was due . I referred 6 people based on my experience in the past, but that will NEVER happen again and I will NEVER use Swiss Colony again. "

Embarresd that i sent as a gift.

"Was so upset when i opened the lucky 13 box. For 24.99 plus shipping 31.bucks Was going to take it as orderves to christmas party but the sausges are the size of my thumb and the breads were smashed down.. on hold so far for 22 mins to try to resolve issue...off to the store to buy real sausages, cheese .very disappointed still holding 33 min...must be a lot of disappointed customer 42 min...55 min only credited obe box and said if i didn't like it donate it to the food bank and get a itemized receipt and they would then credit my account...what a joke ..even offered to send it back. Will never buy here again ...a copy of this so going to yelp also "

WTF / shipping charge is ridiculous!!!

"I've been ordered Xmas food gift boxes for past 3-4 years through Swiss Colony Catalog and never had a problem.
This year, I tried to order online, forgot my password & requested to send me by email TWICE which they didn't respond back.
So I decided to call them and tried to place my order.
Customer service person was very pushy wanted me to order more stuff which I ignored.
So finally completed the order and she told me the total was $ 69+ $23 shipping charge!!!!
That's ripped off!!!
So I decided to order through Amazon.com for exactly the same items,
and there was no shipping charge ----
I just have to find a different company for next Christmas!!!

Have over $300 in credit, but demand down payment?

"WTF? I have been ordering items for the last year or so through Swiss Colony. Now, all of the sudden, they want a down payment from me for orders even though I have over $300 of credit available out of my $450 limit? Order is only for $150??? I will pay this account off and have it removed from my record!"

The shipping prices these people charge are OUTRAGEOUS!!!

"Ordered and PAID for one of their meat/cheese gift packages on Dec 3rd. On Dec 8, on had not seen a tracking #, so i called customer service. very rude and condescending woman told me it is their right not to ship packages until after 14 days of ordering. I found this to be ridiculous! especially for the outrageous cost of freight. I finally received my package yesterday, 12-11. My god, it was such a disappointment to open the box and see all the miniature items. NO WAY I'm giving this crap as a gift to anyone I know!! We will eat this $50 snack before dinner I guess. NEVER will I buy anything from this place again!"

Never again!!!

"The shipping $20...for 3 items...2 food and 1 sweatshirt. The company sent me a sweatshirt not the one ordered. I ordered a Henley green/ grey sweatshirt and got a Sahara club black one. Poor quality. The cookies and candies were cheap quality too. Go to Vermont country store or HomeGoods for better and cheaper gifts you can actually touch! Also, the return label for the sweatshirt requires postage. Damn it to hell if I am going to pay for their mistake. Call them and insist they send you a pre-paid postage label!!! Takes about a week to get the label. Never again!!!!"

Poor customer service

"I made a $430 order and my free gift was automatically being sent to the wrong address. There was no way for me to correct this myself on the website but the company obviously acknowledges this is a defect in their process because there is text below the free gift stating “if this is being sent to the wrong address please call 1-800-etc. after your order is placed.” I called the number and reached someone with a loose grasp on the English language. He placed me on hold so long that my husband sitting next to me called the same number, reached someone competent, and had the issue resolved before I was taken off hold again, so I hung up. The second rep was polite and professional and hopefully the issue is resolved, but I’m not impressed. "
