"I built several systems based on the Intel socket 478 a few years back. One of my customers has one with a Celeron D 2.4 GHz and wants to upgrade. I shopped around and found a Pentium 4 3.4 GHz 1 MB cache (Prescott) at Star Micro for a very competitive price. I ordered one, received confirmation e-mails, etc., the processor arrived in just a few days, I installed it in my socket 478 system for testing, and it runs like a champ!

"I ordered a AMD Athlon XP 3200 CPU after verifying compatibility from manufacturers of both the processor and the motherboard. CPU did not work, I requested an RMA, was given one, but was told there would be 25% restocking fee. To avoid losing $$, I ordered a new Motherboard (also compatible) since it could be a problem with the first MoBo. After assembling the new computer, I tried the CPU. Did not work again. By then the 14 days for return had expired, and they would not allow me to return the product. So I had to keep a bad CPU. Lesson learned for a cost of $145. Will never buy from them again."
"We ordered memory from these Jokers and recieved memory modules that were twice the size of ordinary chips, without any warning from there online ordering site. We called for an exchange for regular modules even if the cost were to be more. They however said that they don't carry regular modules and kept a good chunk of our money after they refunded some of the payment back into our accounts. Will never buy from these thieves again!! We've been in business for 16 years and have never encountered such blatant thievery, please don't keep these crooks in business any longer, don't buy a screw from these charlatans!"

I am a very experienced computer user/builder and have been so for over 15 years. I know what is a broken bad pin and what is not. THEY ARE ON MY COMPANYS BLACK LIST ,NEVER TO DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN.

"Although the invoice shipped with my order stated two CPUs, StarMicro only shipped one.
When contacted the owner insisted he has shipped two.
He's either a thief or is thoroughly convinced he can make no mistake.
In any event, I wouldn't do business with a company that takes either of these approaches."
"STar Micro had a great price on a 256 DDR 2100 stick for my girlfriend's laptop, and was local so I figured shipping would be quick. One problem, they advertise UPS shipping, but ship USPS Priority. BIG difference, further they don't let you know when they ship your package so I had to call after 4 days to find out the status. Kind of disappointing to get no tracking number, no insurance, and no shipping notification. But product arrived and worked just fine, and for the price I'm not complaining."
"Ordered a processor on Saturday, even though their site only says that they shipped Mon-Fri they shipped it that day. Got it Wednesday with no problems.
My only complaint is that they don't update your order status online. Had checked it each day and it had no shipping information, so I had no idea if it shipped or not until it showed up."

"Ordered 8 sticks of low profile 1G PC2100 ECC on a Saturday, 4 on one credit card, 4 on another. Got an email from them Monday AM checking to see if I accidentally made a duplicate order. Explained what I had done. About an hour later I received the FedEx shipping confirmation on my order. YMMV, but I'm a very happy customer! Upon learning their inability to replace these modules we returned the defective modules to them two months ago and still no refund. "Ordered a single stick of RAM from this company. After the first week and no shipping information from them, I contacted them. Waited about 3 days before I got a reply e-mail stating my shipment had been "missing", but that they were shipping it out again that very day. They provided me with a tracking number but no information is given when you use that number. Now its the 7th of November and I still havent got anything. I will never buy from them again or recommend them to customers."
