Fees are not transparent

"They claim to only charge five percent but on my one item that I sold they charged nearly sixteen percent. A total of $205 on a $1299 sale and had I known that to be the case I would have just sold locally. Between their fees and shipping it cost me 320 dollars to sell an 1100 dollar item."

They will not help if you have an issue

"Reverb is the absolute worst when it comes to service as a seller unless you buy the expensive insurance from them they won't help with shipping issues. What they don't tell you is UPS considers them the shipper and wont return your merchandise or work with you as a seller if there is a shipping issue. I lost $1000 bucks this way and they told me to bad so sad and would not intervene."

BUYERS BEWARE / NO PROTECTION FROM SUPPORT / RIP-OFF

"Where sites like eBay often differs sometimes too much to the buyer Reverb doesn't respect buyers at all! I've bought and sold on Reverb and the rarer occasions there was an issue sellers took care of the matter. Recently however, I had a seller not cooperate When I explained an amplifier I purchased had an issue. When I exhausted the road with the seller I escalated to Reverb support. They were throwing the burden of proof upon me asking I video the intermittent issue the amplifier was doing. How am I supposed to prove an intermittent issue with an amplifier being disabled and not technically evolved enough to video? I don't own that kind of equipment, I'm older and disabled.

I certainly didn't purchase this amplifier so I could turn around and have to repack it and send it back. This isn't a high volume seller by any means I have more feedback than they do. He must be related to somebody at Chicago Music Exchange/Reverb or something. This is why Reverb divorced itself from buyers using PayPal because you have that road to go and they've taken that away from buyers. I ignore that and use it for most purchases but happened to choose Affirm so I could spread out the payments on this purchase. Apparently I will have to go to Better Business Bureau and beyond since there's no support in the support department at Reverb. With Guitar Center filing Chapter 11 you would think Reverb/Chicago Music Exchange would be more buyer friendly.

Avoid Reverb (Etsy) Customer service is HORRIBLE, and they are uneducated

"If you are a seller, beware. Reverb‘s (Etsy) uneducated listings dept will baselessly pull your listing claiming trademark “design” infringement and will threaten to suspend you if you relist. They provide no proof and no returned response to their baseless, ignorant claims. They are too lazy to present evidence to their claim or even return emails. You can’t call or talk to a human being anywhere other than chat which is USELESS. Theres been no trademark EVER filed for the design of the guitar I listed, and yet the uneducated listing dept cannot be bothered. I would look elsewhere to sell your items unless you want to deal with folks who could care less about their customer base, aka the people that pay their wages. "

Terrible. Avoid

"As a seller reverb have withheld payment by a customer whilst they verify my id but, despite several uploads of passport and other uk government issued id they still block me and the help desk doesn't understand why or are able to fix it.

Will never use again. And likely to end up in court if not sorted soon.

"I complained about political/social agendas being shoved in my face on a musical instrument sight and they cancelled my account. Spent$20,000+ with their sellers....."Customer Specialist " said I requested cancellation WHEN I DID NOT , she was vindictive....AVOID AVOID AVOID"

Do not sale through this company!

"I sold a nonfunctional, no returns microphone, the buyer started to want a refund said it was more damaged than described but all his complaints WERE described and pictured the company is holding my money and refunding buyer $100 which I feel is invalid and no one can respond nor give me an answer and are giving me the run around."

Horrible Experience!!

"Terrible experience!! I purchased a $250+ banjo through Reverb's reseller UL Tratone. Worst customer service. I had to send daily messages to track down my purchase. First I was told it was coming via UPS, although the rep never entered the right tracking
info. A week later I chased down the rep to learn she never sent it UPS, instead she told me it is coming priority via FEDX. The next email was a refund. After chasing the rep down once more she finally confessed she looked further into my order (one week later) and discovered it was either lost or damaged. She then offered to sent it again priority via FEDX. I simply asked for the tracking info. Next email said she couldn't fulfill my order' maybe I could source it somewhere else.' Customers Beware of this company. Horrible customer service. I understand we're in very uncertain times and want to cut a lot of slack to reputable companies. But to be lied to repeatedly is unacceptable. If you're representing your company as an online retailer, geez figure out how to ship products and communicate honestly with customers.

Reverb promotes seller misrepresentation!

"I made a purchase that was never shipped, the seller promised twice but didn't. Went to leave feedback to let other buyers know about this issue, but Reverb feedback policy will not allow feedback if money was refunded no matter is you had a problem with the seller or not, so only good feedback shows on seller account, total MISREPRESENTATION!"

A rare good review

"I purchased an item that arrived at UPS damaged. I requested a refund from the seller, refused delivery, and had the item returned to the seller. Long story short, the seller approved the refund upon receipt of the damaged item but the seller never picked up the item from UPS and never was home on 4 delivery attempts. Seller quickly became unresponsive did not issue the refund and I had to ask Reverb administration to step in. Even though it took 3 weeks and multiple emails, Reverb did ultimately issue me a full refund. I know often reviews are used as a retribution tool and therefore positive ones are rare. Not the speediest remedy but ultimately I was treated justly."

"Found that Reverb sellers are filthy liars. On Kijiji the buyers are troll faced scum. EBAY is a apparently the only place, unfortunately, left with some integrity. Maybe buying local is the only answer. See ya REVERB!!!"

Run, don’t walk.

"Reverb suspended my listing due to “file photos”. I was going to update the listing once I was able to take good photos a few days later, but Joe B. at Reverb “suspended” it before I could. Their policy “prohibits reposting a suspended item” and “your account can be disabled for making a new listing instead of “editing” the suspended listing. Reverb’s own app shows the listing as “ended” not “suspended” and there is no way to edit it. So I politely let him know that, and that I would therefore be making a new listing which follows all their guidelines and the unprofessional rep with a god complex suspended my entire account. I was able to get his supervisor “Nick D.” to email me, but he just kept promising to reinstate my account “if I agreed to be civil”. So here I am, I’ve “agreed to be civil” 3 times now and Nick’s gone radio silence. I’ve emailed him letting him know his offer to reinstate my account equated to a contract and that if my account’s not reinstated within 24 hours I would be seeking legal action for harassment, fraud and breach of contract.

No matter how this goes, I don’t see ever doing business with them again. No customer base is worth dealing with the unprofessional liars they have working there.

Reverb charge international dealers ghost fees

"We recently sold something through Reverb from outside USA. PayPal immediately held the payment. PayPal sometimes do that for some reason. It takes 21 days to fix, or otherwise you have to send the guitar without payment. Not happening.

So we then refunded the customer within 10 mins, because I cannot send guitars without cleared funds.

All good. Within 15 mins, everyone had their money back, and were happy. PayPal paid me. I refunded the customer 10 minutes later. It was PayPal to PayPal alone, and back again.

At the end of the month, Reverb charged me $20 for a currency conversion fee. So get this......

Reverb jumped in and added an imaginary transaction fee of their own and called it 'currency conversion'.

It was tiny, but it is a scam.

Nightmare

"I sold a guitar. The buyer received it, used it, modified at a tech shop where they broke it an asked for a refund claiming that it wasn’t on the condition I post it reverb said I have to take it back for “an undisclosed issue no relate it to the damage” and I loss the shipping money, the reverb and fee and end up with a broken guitar worst app ever "
