"Decided to try star gazing with telescope (have been using binoculars) and after many searches and reading reviews went with the Orion Space Probe 130ST EQ. Received kit and found directions easy to follow, assembly when quick and was up and running. Have had scope for a couple weeks now and close planets (Jupiter, Venus) easy to find and track. Haven't gotten into photo work yet - waiting for a couple items to arrive then will dive into that area a little.
I'm a retired mechanical engineer and find this scope to be well built, steady and the views thus far are amazing. I've talked so much about what I've already been able to see that my wife is getting out of the house on cold nights and learning a little about what the skys have been hiding for so long.
