"I have bought several lenses over the years for Lens Authority and Lens Rental and have had superior service. Both services have gotten back to me through the internet and phone very, very quickly. This stands out to me that this probably sells a lot of photo equipment for them. I have dealt with a couple of large internet companies in the past that do not return questions in a timely manner if at all. These companies have lost my business. Anyway Lens Authority is the best.

"I recommend lens authority to some degree. But use caution. I bought a lens in the fall from them. When I received the lens it didn’t mount firmly to my camera , there was some “wiggle” in it. I did some googling and it sounded like other people had similar issues without any significant problems. Fast forward 6 months and the mounting screws fell out. I sent the lens in to canon (I bought the extended insurance policy that lens authority offered). Canon quoted me +$800 in repairs from various amounts of “damage” to the lens internally. They said it appeared to have been dropped due to the damage. I have never dropped this lens in the months that I owned it and would not honor the extended warranty I purchased through lens authority. With that said, make your purchase carefully through them. Also, I would not suggest buying a Canon 70-200 2.8 on their sight as I’m now out $1200"

"I’m a professional photographer, so I’m clear on just how familiar I am, at buying equip, especially used, online. The #1 thing I’ve found in 20+ years is that it’s absolutely common, for a popular item, Lens, Camera body, Etc. to be very linear in price variance amongst reputable RE-sellers. Of the 50+ used,( from refurb new, to 3-4 tr old units), I’ve landed on pretty much one. As I was using them consistently ,’For me’, it was worth maybe $40-70 more to get a warranty, and also know they under describe their equip,( so an A- unit is really nearly NIB, a Well Used Unit, is actually great condition, and only needs a good cleaning), so for those reasons, I only shopped to be certain I wasn’t “missing a total deal of a lifetime”. I found lens Authority very easily, they landed in the #2 spot when I searched my next ‘Victim’( purchase), ever curious I went to the online store and shopped. In this particular case, I was buying an XC10 4K cinema Camera for my Cousin, who’s son is starting College Schokarship Signing camps, and needed a Prof Quality yet vanilla simple to use camera. The XC10, in case you don’t know, is about as high end + perfect for just that as one could ask. My 1st look, 10 days ago, I determined used units ( 2 yrs old approx), were gonna cost 925-$1100. Some were $2000, none were under $900, and most under $1200- were Camera unit, Batt/charger/ that’s it. I really wanted a pristine unit, and MY USUAL STORE HAD 0. I couldn’t even think about changing units, after having him research it, and getting stoked about this very camera, so I was blown totally away, when LensAuthority, brought me to a landing page for (the 1 I clicked on), at $1040, AND SAW THAT IT WAS ESSENTIALLY NIB condition. I couldn’t touch this thing for under $1500, elsewhere. More surprising was a 2nd basically A- unit for $970, box, manuals, battery , charger, cables, : I look for those items, but a normal consumer expects them. I’ve bought 1, or 2 items from rental dept’s before, hesitant but normally knowing the products reliability, {figuring if it’s gonna fail, it would have already, }. So I read all the fine print, and I’m positive this was the best quality unit I think I could find used; anywhere, but at $990, ( adding a full 1 year warranty for $20- Note: that struck me as a sign they knew the condition was excellent / as $20 doesn’t offset 12 mo’s of risk in any scale,) so I added a warranty so my cousin could have peace of mind, and not bug me. Blown Away after very next AM, I received a call regarding the purchase, 1. As they were verifying it, nice JOB, protect a consumers interests before etching another sale, BRAVO, 2. Cust/Service, to be its important for my own needs, but because I run a Film Production Company , The fact they value cust satisfaction, tells me they’re in business the right way. I may have offered a belabored story here, but listen, there is no more costly a transaction, than a bad one. Be it 3$, or $30,000, so I’ve found, experienced buyers read a couple highlights a pull the trigger, true consumer shoppers really look to specific details that speak to them, about comfort zones, in purchasing equip sight unseen. So speed read it, or take it all in, I think I got a smoking hot deal, (I swear I’m tempted to buy one myself at 1K$, really!), I’m already convinced the C/S is phenomenal, and FedEx Tracking was provided 1st day- I sat 5+ stars, great Job! "
