"So my wife accidentally knocked a small chair over onto my 7 year old laptop and the K key went flying. Snapped the hinge and the small clips behind the key. I couldn't salvage any part.

I hoped I could find a spare key on ebay or somewhere else but a quick search brought up LaptopKey.

What got me is that they listed not only my laptop, but apparently several models. Once I had that, they then showed me several photos of the key mechanism. Wasn't too hard to match mine and place an order. I was really impressed by that.

Their videos show how to assemble the hinge with the key but to my delight it arrived already assembled so I only had to pop it back into place.

"THIS is how things should work.

Asus wanted me to spend 20+ dollars in shipping, and about 3+ weeks in transit and repair for a Chromebook power key replacement under warranty. They refused to send a key, and insisted I return it so they could determine if they would honor the warranty.

Laptopkey.com charged 8 dollars including the shipping to send me a new key, and I had the key in less than a week. I watched the install video, and was (needlessluy) anxious about installing it.

It popped on in less than 15 seconds. It looks perfect. It works perfect. It came pre-assembled, and when I was test fitting it, the key latched in “accidentally” so there was ZERO install.

Highly recommend !! It was quicker, cheaper, and far more convenient than a warranty repair. For a pretty obscure item.

"This is not the first time I have dealt with this vendor. I have ordered small items such as one key for a replacement on a keyboard to replacement keyboards for laptops. Their products always meet or exceed OEM specifications. They recently sent me a keyboard that had a defective backspace key. It was the first time I received an item that had a flaw. I emailed them and they immediately sent another keyboard out so that I could get the laptop back to the client on the agreed date.

"My wife dropped a can of fizzy drink on her Acer laptop and two keys with the hinges broke of.
After much searching on the Internet, Ebay etc., I almost gave up hope and then I came across Laptopkey.com and after some browsing, they had what I needed.
Although they are based in the USA and I live in The Netherlands the postage was very reasonable en the shipping time was less than 10 days!

"I ordered several keys for my wife's HP Spectre laptop. These arrived on time. Unfortunately, even though the keys were the same the hinges were different. The Laptopkey.com colleagues were exceptionally supportive (and patient!) in helping me find the right ones and they replaced the original order very quickly. This is despite the UK/US time difference and postage delay. The keys were shipped promptly, and arrived in the UK in a week on both occasions and the on line fitting guides were brilliant.
