"The item I ordered arrived in a reasonable time. I ordered a SSM-17B speaker/microphone for my Yaesu FT-25 and FT-4V hand held radios. Both radios on the GigaParts website list this as an accessory. However, it did not work with either radio when it arrived. I contacted GigaParts right away. They said I could return it and gave me a RA #. So far so good. The catch was that I had to pay the shipping back to them which would be almost $16 on an item that cost $25.95 plus $9.85 shipping. So, on an Item that cost me a total of $35.80 I would net less than $10 if I returned it. When I asked why I had to pay the shipping to return a broken item they told me it was because of a contract with the Mfg. I guess I understand that they don't want to lose money but... I am not sure but I think that if they had to refund the shipping then the Mfg. would have to reimburse them and so they have this contract that makes the buyer the one that takes the hit.
I called Yaesu and talked to a Technician, who when he first looked up the two radios could not find the SSM-17B listed as an accessory at first. Interesting. After some digging and checking he found something that said it should work. He said he would investigate further and get back to me which he did. His report to me went something like this. He found there at their location a radio I think it was the FT-4v and a SSM-17B and when he first inserted the plug into the radio it didn't work either but after several insertions it finally worked. He suggested I do the same which I did but to no success. I have decided that I will probably keep the item and do some experimenting on it and maybe I can get it to work. However, I will probably try to buy thru a seller that offers free returns."

However, I was somewhat annoyed when after placing the order, I clicked on the Check Store Stock right below the "Ready To Ship" line and finding out the hyperlink response stated "More On the Way". At first, I thought oh, so now I'll wind-up waiting weeks or more for my radio to arrive. As it turned out, it only took a couple of days for stock to arrive and I got the radio in a reasonable amount of time. No worries. But I do wish the WEB page didn't state "Ready To Ship" when in actual the item wasn't in stock.
