Worst customer service, stuck with dead battery 9 months old

"Bought car battery from Batteries Plus, Rockville, which lasted 9 months. Called, was told to bring it in.
Did you drive the car every day? ---------Yes.
You have to drive it at least 20 miles. --I never heard of that, but yes, I drove it 54 miles a day.
We won't accept it------------------------------Let us speak to the manager.
I am the manager.
Called the complaint number, reported it. No response back yet.
I know they are cheaper than anywhere else, but IMHO it is not worth it. I strongly suggest spending the extra 10 or 20 dollars. Your time and aggravation are not worth it. Good luck!

Doesn’t stand behind their product after six months.

"I had Batteries and bulbs at 1604/Redland Road replace a battery in my iPad Air. About 7 months later the iPad started “acting up” again with the battery doing the exact same draining dance it had been before Batteries and Bulbs repaired it and charged me $90.

I called today and was told by Cody, I’m guessing he’s the same Cody that helped me in May; that Batteries and Bulbs only provides a 6 month warranty on their work. He basically said sorry bud, you’re out of warranty.

I’m giving one star for a crappy company that does not stand behind their work. I would not buy any battery, for any device from this company ever again and I recommend you get your batteries and bulbs elsewhere!

Arlington Washington Store is Horrible

"I needed a new battery for my vehicle, and I had gone in before for batteries for remotes and key fobs, so I thought, why not? A wonderful woman walked me through the process, and I was in and out in under an hour. Flash forward three months, and I came out to a dead battery. I have a charger, charged it up, and went on my way. I called them up and I was told that if it charged up that quickly, it was probably a light that was left on all night. I didn't think twice about it, but the next time I went to the mechanic, I asked him to check to make sure everything was fine. He said it was, but that the battery was severely underpowered for my rig, and suggested I get a new one. I told him that that I had only bought it three months ago, and he said it should keep me going, but wasn't my best bet.

This weekend, we went south for Thanksgiving. Two hours into the drive, I pulled into McDonalds for the kids. I turned off the car for no more than a minute to drop them off, and the battery died again. At 5 am on Thanksgiving, it took hours for a tow truck to come charge it. The driver said he wouldn't advise charging, because the battery was on its last leg (after now five months). He could do it, but recommended buying a new one, which we did.

Today, I called Batteries Plus and explained my situation. I spoke to someone who said she was going to get the owner. His IMMEDIATE response was that he "was frustrated with my call." He said he couldn't understand why I wouldn't just bring it in to one of their locations. When I explained that I had no vehicle to bring it in, nor did I think any would be open at 5 am on Thanksgiving, he had the nerve to say that it was poor planning on my part. I told him that I would bring the battery in and continue the discussion at the store to see what could be done.

When I got there, I was met with "If you're going to have attitude with me, I'll call the cops and kick you out of my store. You'll be stuck with the battery. You're stuck with it anyway because I am not refunding anything." No greeting, no apology for the mess that their product created, just an attack. I explained that I never once asked for a refund, and I only approached him cordially, asking for a solution. He continued to throw attitude my way as if I was inconveniencing him. He belittled me and showed no concern for the lack of a viable product, or even for my family missing Thanksgiving.

His employee stepped up and said that she would test the battery and give me a call later with some options. Even she recognized how horrible he was.

I implore you, don't go here. I'll be honest, I want to negatively impact the business as a result of the horrible treatment that I have had. I will not sugar-coat my desire for retribution, but ask yourself, if even one person was treated that way, is that a business that you would want to spend your money?

Customer Service Definition?

"Went into my local Batteries Plus store to have a new battery installed in my Chevy Astro. Waited in line for a few minutes and then I was next. Told the guy behind the counter what I needed, he retrieved the battery and rung it up we completed the transaction. He hands me the warranty papers and turns to the next customer. Now having been a customer for over 20 years I kindly asked him, " You do still install them, correct?". He turns to me and says " I'm the only one here and we have a lot of people in the store" as I look at the lady next to him assisting a customer. A bit confused I looked at him and proceeded to grab my battery and walk out the door. There were 4 people in the store and if you" offer install by God you better have enough staff on hand to handle the situation as that is NOT the customers fault. I suggest that you get it straight with the franchise owner that you best have enough staffing daily even after a holiday. For $150.00 for a battery, believe me I sure in heck will go my local mechanic next time and for the same $$ get it installed. Now he was nice and I appreciated that but I was given NO options like " Could you wait a few minutes and when we take care of a few customers we'll get right to your battery install". Apparently that is not an option. Very frustrated...."

Great customer service

"RV had a dead battery. Jim, the manager of the Daytona ISB Batteries Plus, drove to my RV, tested the battery, then drove back to his store, got a new battery, and installed it...all for the cost of the battery. Great service and Jim is a warm and friendly man. I highly recommend Batteries Plus at ISB in Daytona Beach."

iPhone 8 Broken Glass

"Went to replace my front broken screen IPhone 8 and they replaced it with defective one. Went the next day to let them know and they refused to change it. Horrible job they did and on top of that they wanted me pay for service again even tho it was not my fault.
Called corporate and they said distric manager would call me and that never happened.....
Next BBB review. Be aware before you go.

Woburn, MA Great Shopping Experience

"Andrew answered phone quickly, knew all the issues evolved with my 2012 Chev Volt, knew it was a difficult battery install procedure, advised me on how I could prep the car so he could do the install and, once at the store he retrieved info from his cell phone showing where to attach an interim 12 volt backup battery so that data stored in the computer would not be lost, saving me a 20 minute wait for the car computer systems to reboot. How's that for getting to the right guy at the right time.

Steve, senior tech, showed an interest in me as a customer, also showing an interest in my car, its unique features and where we're headed in the future. It's a connection that ensures that the next time I need batteries or bulbs I'll be back.

Camphill PA - Do not go to this store for phone repair.

"They can't get the job done on time or correctly. It took 5 hours to get my Samsung repaired and I was waiting for it. They kept say, we need more time, they had to call a supervisor to see if they could use a part. The tech asked if my phone had a sim card. Then tells me I don't know anything about phones.
Really? A phone tech that has no clue about sim cards is not a phone tech
I'm disputing the charge they made to my credit card and calling corporate. I wasted my entire day and made 5 trips in, only to be told I was an idiot.

Batteries Plus should stick to batteries only, phones are higher than these guys pay grade

Useless, terrible support, horrible customer service

"We ordered a battery online to pickup at a store, remotely, for a different company site. No mention of needing to show up with ID, and credit card, which is 50 miles away and not happening until the "order ready" email arrives. Call to see about canceling that order, so somebody can buy it there locally with a different card, and they say they cannot cancel the order unless the card with the owner of the card shows up in that store. Impossible to cancel an online order. So...what? Either I arrange for our exec to drive an hour to stop by and cancel the order in person...or you just keep the money and deliver nothing ever???

"That's not my frustration, sir. That's not my problem." Hangs up on me. Told me to call corporate. Corporate told me to call the store.

Idiotic, insane, senseless. Can't cancel an online order?? I will let everyone know this place is useless.

Tremendous savings

"Tremendous savings. Allan Campbell save me hundreds of dollars. Only $40, brought my own key for a second replacement for my 2015 QX 60 Infiniti. Couldn’t ask for a better deal 20 minutes. Could not be happier !"

Bad policies

"I called in to ask if they could program a key fob. They told me to call a different store all the way across the city. I did, and they said they could do it. I went in, and they refused to program the key fob because I didn't buy it there. What kind of brain dead policy is that? Now the customer is ****, and they lost out on easy money. The key fob is identical to what they sell, so it's not like it's a technical problem. And apparently their employees don't know about this brain dead policy. I will never set foot in another Batteries Plus as long as I live."

Terrible Service

"Paid $263 for a Car battery online was told in stock got delayed two weeks no follow up call. Went in store for pickup they brought out battery verified with my receipt then asked for ID. When I went out to car to get it and got back they had put it away said their system is down they cant complete the transaction. I said I already paid they stated not their problem come back another day to complete. I said I drove 50 minutes to get here they said not our problem we cant control computer systems. I said I will call corporate they said good get a refund I will still need to come back to the store to get that too. Dont buy anything from this company no customer service and this was a manager? "

"I went on Saturday 7-12-19
I needed a battery for my iphone... Lee was very helpful, checked my battery and said, yes I needed one. He was very professional, and very helpful to me. He told me how to keep the battery for a healthy phone.... I was very impressed, and will definitely be going back there again.

Won’t back their products/crappy service

" I went there to buy two batteries for my uncle’s wheelchair. He lives on a fixed income of $30 a month! He had to save to be able to afford two batteries for a motorized wheelchair that was donated to him. The batteries were taken to his living facility who handles these and their care often. They were put on chair and it wouldn’t work so they thought it was something with the chair. After a week, they borrowed two older The batteries and out them on the chair to find it worked fine. There was one battery that would not hold a charge. He had these batteries for 10 days and when I took the one back that would not hold a charge, we were told they would not exchange it as they said the battery was overcharged causing the problem and they would not warrantee it! This battery was not overcharged and is a defective battery from day one. I even took it to another local battery shop who looked at it and said it was in fact defective. I called and filed a complaint and it took a week to get a return voicemail sayin they will not honor their product warrantee and if we would like to buy another one they’ll give us a deal on it. Not going to happy. The Manager was a snot and I will never recommend or buy from them again! "

Over and above!!!!

"My car battery died at 7:45 when the store closes at 8.Flynn came to my rescue and hooked me up with a new battery when he could of easily told me no.
This is my second purchase from Batteries Plus West Ashley and both visits have been excellent.I will be back and definitely recommend them to everyone.
