"Ordered decorative shutters that were approximately $600.00. I immediately received a confirmation email stating I would receive another with tracking information. Several days later I sent an email asking about the tracking information. The next day I received a response that the item should have shipped and they would be sending tracking information. That was all fine. Felt it was due to the holidays. Then I received a call from the shipper. They stated they only delivered on Tuesday and Thursday between 9 and 5. These items were for a weekend home bit the shipper had no flexibility. I call BKD and asked how I could return them and get my money back. He said refuse the shipment and once the manufacturer received them and processed his refund, he would process mine. Stated this was shipped directly from the manufacturer and wasn't his issue. After more conversation he said he would call the shipper. I called the shipping co the next day and they said he never called. This item was big. I had to rent a car to pick it up and leave my job early to pick it up myself. The items are beautiful but that has nothing to do with BKD. I will never order anything through them again. (Fyi that this is the first review I have ever written on a company but was simply shocked by the poor service and what appeared to be a total diinterest in how their company brand may be perceived.)"

"I ordered 3 items, all "IN STOCK" according to the website. It was 2-3 weeks before any were shipped, though only 2 of the 3 items. They arrived in good condition. 3rd item was "backordered" and has yet to ship (nearly 4 weeks after initial order).

Their website's availability status ("IN STOCK") is the only SCAM that I have detected so far. It is dishonest, leading to more orders being placed than would otherwise be.

Update: April 14, 2013
They shipped out the final item on 1/7/2013 and it was delivered 1/10/2013 (45 days after initial order of "IN STOCK" item). Unfortunately, at no fault of BathKitchenDecor, the quality of the light fixtures did not meet our expectations, so I promptly initiated a return. The customer service rep said I would be emailed an RMA number within a few days. This did not happen. I had to call to inquire and was told this time to ship the items directly back to their vendor in California and a credit would be issued after receipt. Delivery to vendor confirmed on 2/13/2013. 2 weeks later, no credit had been issued. So, I called to inquire and was told too much time had elapsed to issue a refund to my credit card and that they would mail a check after verifying the vendor received the returned items. Never happened. Called again to inquire. They verified it while I waited on hold and promised to mail a refund check that day. Over a week later, no check received. I called again to inquire and was informed that they decided to wait for a credit from their vender to come in before issuing a refund to me. They confirmed credit had now been received from their vendor and would write me a check and mail it out this evening. Several days later, BKD took the initiative to call me to let me know that the check had not been mailed yet for an unknown reason and that it was going out immediately. A few days later, on 4/13/2013, I did receive a refund check from BKD.

I share these facts in hopes that BKD will see how unprofessional their operations look from the customer side and will endeavor to improve.

"Horrible. Site said in stock - never shipped, when inquired canceled order. Still have not had refund on CC, doing chargeback. What these people are doing is scamming. Most likely what they do is scam. They know most online credit card companies won't let you do a chargeback on shipped items until 15+ days has elapsed.

As an individual whom has been shopping online since the "Modem" days - I can wholeheartedly suggest you stay away from this company or online website as far as you can..

www.bathkitchendecor.com is the worst of the worst..

"BEWARE!!! I don't think this is even a real company!!! Honestly, its some sort of racket. DO NOT ORDER anything from this company. ONE MONTH HAS EXPIRED AND I HAVE NOT EVEN HEARD FROM THEM AS TO WHEN MY ITEM SHIPPED!!!!! I spent $350 on a chandelier!

"I purchased some wall lights from this company over 3 months ago. My card was charged immediately. Their website, unlike others, showed the item was in stock and the price was much less than I found elesewhere on the internet and locally. Good deal, right? WRONG!!!!!!! Stay far far away from this "establishment". I sent numerous emails and placed several phone calls trying to track my order and heard nothing back-- until I threatened to chargeback my credit card. Then, MIRACULOUSLY someone responded back (such a brief and non-professional email) saying that my card will be refunded and my order would be canceled. No reason why, etc. See, if the item would have been marked at not available or someone would have contacted me back when I ordered it properly like they should, I would have waited for this item to "come in". The man did not even sign a name, phone number, or signature at the bottom of his email. TAKE THIS SITE DOWN AND STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!"

"Paid a little extra to buy a faucet from here because they listed it as in stock. After a week I contacted them to ask about the order, and they told me it was not in stock. After a rather rude response from their rep, he did promise that it would arrive the following Monday.

It did not arrive until Tuesday. In a large box, with little packing protection, with the factory seal broken, brushed stainless parts rolling around everywhere, and a supply line missing.

I will never use this company again, and with plenty of other choices out there, Caveat Emptor, spend a few extra bucks and avoid this place!

UPDATE to Larry response:

The bottom line is I did not have one honest experience with this company. This type of brash defensive response is what I relieved after my first inquiry about the order. Even when you had the item overnighted, it didn't arrive when you said it would. No big deal unless you're a contractor on a 250k renovation and tell your customer when it will be in, AND ITS NOT!

After reading other reviews it should be plain to see that your company is nothing more than your basic bait and switch operation. EVERYTHING is in stock! Just not what you ordered, oopsie! Look, I understand how a dropshipping company works, I had one myself. Its a good business model but the key is, if you don't have it in stock, don't say you do! If the item said "drop shipped from manufacturer" then I may have still ordered it and had corresponding expectations. YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE UPSET BECAUSE YOU ARE LYING TO THEM!

"I bought a cutting board from this merchant that said in stock on July 17th. I started trying to contact them in early August to find out where my cutting board was. I called them literally 20 times, and have emailed several as well. Its now september and I've never gotten a response. I have now filed a dispute with my credit card company for them to go after them. This company is a SCAM. Stay away at all costs. I should have known something was wrong from Day 1 when they charged me for the cutting board and then also an additional 10 dollar charge an hour later. SCAMMERS!"

"I bought a chandalier on 7/6/12 and, since the item was not received by 7/20/12, I called the store to verify the order status. A couple hours after the first call they called me back stating that the item was out of stock and the order would need to be cancelled. A few days later, the amount I paid was credited back to my credit card.

This seems to be a small store and the only reason I tried to buy the item was because the price is really good. In my case it was a waste of time since they didn't have the item they were selling.

At least I was able to get my money back...

"Judging from the other reviews here, my experience is part of a pattern this vendor has of showing items as in-stock and then never delivering -- although they'll charge you as soon as you order. Refund was made quickly after I called my credit card company. May be just coincidental that my credit card was fraudulently used a week after I ordered."
