“This is dishonest and I would encourage you to pause for a moment and honestly update this. I'm not sure why you've chosen to slander us so unfairly when we simply did our best to serve you quickly. I'm going to assume you are having a bad day or some other frustration and we've just gotten unfairly caught in the crosshairs. If that's the case, we truly wish you all the best and mean that. While some merchants may be indifferent to the occasional bad review, we are not. We are a very small operation of only a few and these reviews mean a lot to each of us. We know our ability to feed our families rests on our reputation so we all really try hard. That is why your order got packed in the minutes before our USPS pickup. We didn't want you to wait an extra day for it to ship.
Regarding the details of this review, It's true that we did ship it quickly to try get it out to you asap because the USPS pickup was due at any moment. We always try to beat the carrier pickup when we can. It wasn't 5 minutes as you state but it was packed and scanned by USPS within about an hour. If it had not been picked up we would have canceled for you of course. When we heard from you, USPS had already picked it up and the USPS tracking scan shows that.
Regarding shipping, our absolute lowest shipping cost from USPS is for a small flat rate box and that COST is $8.45. You can look this up. We do not ship USPS 1st class for anything anymore and our cost to ship your package was many many times from the $1.24 you indicate. You know we shipped this Priority service so you know it was not $1.24.

"I received great help in selecting and sizing the best alarm system for my needs. I was fully informed about all the peripheral add-ons that were required so I got everything in one purchase. I watched many of Alarm System Store's videos as I was installing the system myself, and found their "hands-on" explanations really helpful with illustrating exactly what you are encountering while installing and especially programming a new system.
After nearly completing my installation, I added one DSC wireless zone and encountered anomalous behavior which I could not resolve on my own. I spoke with Hayden in the technical department who fully explained how I could resolve the issue I was experiencing by changing this wireless zone to a higher "virtual" zone number that had no potential for a hardwired connection. I tried his solution and it worked immediately - for this I am forever grateful as he has saved me tons of frustration and headaches. It is very nice to be able to consult with an expert when you think you've tried just about everything!
Installing and programming an alarm system as a DIY project may not be for everyone - especially due to the complexity and less than user-friendly programming. If you are like me and choose to undertake a task like this, this is an excellent place to buy a system because of the great selection, reasonable prices, and strong support through their how-to videos. "The US based, articulate phone support does indeed call back; are intelligent. Once in a while there are surprises where the manufacturers' promises of compatibility or easy installation fail; they will stay with you long enough to work through whether it is the equipment, or your installation steps. While the field experience with these systems varies, there is enough continuity in staff that there is someone around to handle what a decade-old system needs, and know what are the likely problems.
Their market appears to be installer quality---wireless and wired---with one or two inclusions of the high end of homeowner stuff. This is where you go if you are not a renter who will want to pack up your system in a few years. Any where you'd rather spend money on a system which won't bleed you dry by tieing you to a monitoring that only the vendor sells, and can't be defeated by just cutting the wires to your dwelling.
Their prices are reasonable--not the lowest. The increment over Amazon or E-bay reflect the fact that they do exercise quality control in what they buy, and their attention to getting your system right extends past the day your credit card payment clears. If they say they will take back something for credit that turns out to be unsuitable--they keep their word. This is not always true with Amazon's vendors, and far less true with Amazon vendors on the Canadian site."
