Lousy customer service, deceptive advertising practices

"Trying to buy a scanner and discovered it was low inventory nationwide. Received an email this AM that Adorama had the thing in stock and canceled a previous order with another retailer. When I called (twice) I was advised it was backordered for another week, so on the strength of the email, I cancelled a valid order. I will never buy from Adorama again and will put them on my spam list."

they are a bunch of THIEVES!

"I made an order 2 months ago with the amount of $318.97, the shipment took 1 month to reach my country and other 2 weeks held by the customs , I contacted the carrier company and Adorma themselves dozens of time with no decent replay, finally the carrier company after 2 other weeks update the tracking information and says (Unable to deliver shipment, returned to shipper.
Recommended action: No action is required. The package is being returned to the shipper.)
I contacted FEDEX asking why ? they replied (the customs refused the shipment and there was no fees and nothing paid) although I contacted my local custom office and he said we didn't refused any shipment!!
However, after a dozen of emails between me and Adorma with no results, only a robot replay each time, they said the shipment returned and you have to pay a total of $439.76 including import fees !!!!!
why ? because you refused to receive the shipment (the shipment I didn't even received ) !!!!!!!

and FEDEX says no fees was paid ?! so how Adorma said I have to pay ?!

The worst online experience ever
I highly recommend to avoid this store
no customer service , you're totally speaking to yourself
working with the worst carrier company ever
and above all that , they are a bunch of THIEVES!

I didn't get my shipment nor my money and yet I have to pay extra amount of money !

"Just wanted to give a review of the wonderful customer service I received from
Manny Nunez who is on your team. I will be honest In the past I have had some issues with dealing with Adorama but after dealing with Manny I may be coming back more often. He treated me like he was glad to help and generally cared for me (person on the other end of the phone) and wanted to help. Not the norm these days where one feels like you are bothering someone for asking a question about something you want to buy. Any way 5 stars for Manny and I hope he gets recognized for this. Adorama=FRAUD Update

"Update: Adorama apologized for misunderstanding.

So, I ordered Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X R2 TTL On-Camera Round Flash Speedlight Kit For Nikon (Godox V1).
And as a separate order Flashpoint R2 Mark II iTTL 2.4 GHz TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Nikon (Godox X2)
The flash supposed to come with 3 items. The kit, Case and the hat. After I received it I was very excited and did not notice that one item is missing. The CASE. So I contacted Adorama via chat and the guy/girl is telling me that the CASE is on the back order. That is fine but why no one tells me in the first place? Oh because they are trying to defraud customers hoping that no one will notice that the CASE is missing.
In fact I received email saying:

So now the Transmitter. On their page it said and still says even today that it will ship on 07/01. But the chat guy says now in the middle of the August. And on top of that he said that it is on the first come first serve basis. If this is not the case of a Fraud I don't know what is. If someone orders it they expect to be shipped on 07/01!!!!!! FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD!!!!!

Horrible!!!!!

"I've was using them before no sales tax. Got their credit card and cannot get in touch with them for balance or card delivery or their partner Synchrony. Every time I try to order something there is a problem. Stay away from them at all cost and go with B&H photo. They are incompetent Awful experiences now!!!!!"

I have not received my full order and Adorama customer service is no help

"I purchased an entire light kit for my camera. I received the boxes opened and damaged and only received part of my purchase not all the items. I’ve contacted Adorama and have all the emails. The customer service has not been helpful at all. I’m tired of going back and fourth and they are not listening to my emails and now telling me to wait 10 more days for investigation after I’ve already waited like 20 days!"

Do not buy from them.

"Do not buy from this company. I ordered a used monitor from them for what would be a decent price if the monitor was in perfect condition. It was $500 and new it's $800 at Microcenter, the monitor is the Alienware AW3418. I received the monitor a couple days later than they said and it came in a disgusting box. I opened it up and tried turning on the monitor and the screen was super broken. I called Adorama to return it or get a replacement sent. They said that the monitor is suppose to be broken. What in the world, that is a ridiculous price for a broken monitor! When we were ordering we tried our best to make sure it was legit since we've never bought from this company and we didn't see anywhere saying that it was broken. Also, why would anyone in their right mind buy a $500 broken monitor? They said we could send it back as a courtesy by them, but we had to pay for shipping. That was $150 and wasted a lot of my time! This has been maybe the worst purchasing experience of my life. Makes me sick knowing companies like this are still out there. Just terrible and no empathy what so ever. Very surprised that they have grown to their size. Just greedy and slimy, selling broken items for top dollar. Do not buy from them."

Stay away from them!!!

"I ordered a top-end Apple Macbook Pro, late 2019 model fully loaded with overnight shipping. It was in stock and ready to ship, according the Adorama. I paid with a credit card, which had plenty of funds available, and I called to assure the bank would accept the transaction. I needed the laptop quickly for a project. I also called Adorama to assure that all was on track to ship on Monday.
I got an email that said their "Verification Analyst" rejected the order!!! When I called to find out why, They couldn't give me an explanation. Who the heck is Adorama using for verification??? Crazy. I called B&H, they took the order immediately, overnight shipping and all! I highly recommend to stay away from Adorama and go to B&H.

Adorama salesman misinformed me that VIP360 returns were okay in order to find the perfect camera for me.

"I initially opened an Adorama account a few years ago because I was approved with Comenity Bank to open a credit card with them. I had never purchased a camera before and I do not have any camera stores near where I live, beyond big box stores that sell kit cheaper cameras. I was sold on the fact that I would also be purchasing an Adorama VIP360 membership — for an additional $50 — which, I was told on the phone, would allow for "hassle-free refunds. No questions asked." The site now states: "60-Day Return Policy. Buy with confidence. As a member, you get 60 days to return VIP360 products and return shipping is FREE, too." They've dropped the no questions asked, hassle-free lingo.

This was perfect because it meant that I could test out some of the many different camera sensor sizes and models. Again, I was new to the camera world and there were so many options that it was a bit overwhelming. I tested a Panasonic Lumix G9 (m4/3), Canon 80D (APS-C), and then back to the Panasonic Lumix G9. I had also tried a few lenses as well. I ended up keeping the Panasonic G9 and Panasonic Lumix 100-400mm lens.

I spent thousands with Adorama and, out of nowhere, I was unable to place an order. When I called to ask why, I was informed that my account had been flagged for excessive returns. I spoke to a manager and let them know that I was under the presumption, due to the salesman who sold me the package, that VIP360 allowed for "hassle-free, no questions asked returns". They told me that it did, but I had returned too many items. I told them that an email or a phone call would've been a nice gesture if I was nearing the threshold for return limits. I spent hours on the phone with many different supervisors to no avail. I eventually gave up and went to shop with B&H Photo.

After a year or two, I thought I'd try with Adorama again since I still had a credit card through Comenity. I purchased a Fuji X-H1 — another $1,300 to Adorama. All was paid and well, and I actually still use the camera today.

About a month later, I tried to place another order for two lenses and a camera mount plate, but I was denied like before. I called in to see what the problem was and I was told that my account was banned due to excessive returns. I was confused because I had just placed an order the month before and everything went through just fine (with no returns mind you). They said it was a mistake on their part and, literally, to take my business somewhere else.

I do try every six months or so to see if I could be given another chance since I realize now that, as a first-time camera buyer, returning several items isn't allowed (even though the VIP360 package was sold to me that way). I called back in March of this year and spoke to the highest member they'd transfer me to. He told me he'd contact me back but, of course, never did. I called again and was transferred to a normal manager who told me there was nothing that they could do. I have spent about 5 hours on the phone with managers, in the past few months, who continuously tell me that they basically don't want my business.

It's not that I don't want to purchase through them, it's that they don't want me to. I am looking to place another $2,000 order since being in quarantine. I'd like to be able to use this time to take more photos and try new lenses, but I will most likely have to go through B&H Photo. It seems that ever since the past account specialist was let go, I believe her name was Helen Oster, that Adorama no longer care about the customers.

If I do receive a response, then I expect nothing more than a "sorry, there is nothing we can do. You can always try again in the future" and not a "please, let us help you place your order with us and make things right".
