Excellent service

"I called as the printer I wished was backlogged and wished to place an order when back in stock. Manny however mentioned there was a refurbished one which I could purchase. He also went on to discuss some cameras in which I was interested. I will definitely consider purchasing again from this company"

Worst return process

"Adorama customer service is the worst experience with returns that I have aver had. I received my large order including and expensive Canon R6 and a bunch of other things the end of Feb. Everything worked well except for a tripod which had incorrect feet, just plastic caps instead of rubber multi-angle as advertised.

I sent the tripod back for exchange thinking this would be a simple fix. This is where the bad customer service started. A week later I get a notification from UPS and Adorama that the returned item was delivered. No updates from the company about the exchange, after my email, they said processing takes a few days. Then after a while I ask again, and this time it turns out a damage has been reported by UPS. I check the tracking number and indeed there is a damage reported (no other info on ups is provided. I email call Adorama and UPS and they both say the damage during transit was reported and UPS is assuming responsibility. Adorama files a claim with UPS and makes me wait until the results. This is already a terrible policy since none of this is my fault and Adorama should either refund me or send an exchange and deal with UPS themselves. However I wait, Adorama doesn’t send any updates and only emailas me back that they are waiting for UPS whenever I contact them. I call UPS again a week after the damage status appeared and they inform me that they have finished the investigation and sent everything to Adorama, and that I need to contact Adorama for any information. This makes sense since technically the shipper and receiver of the return order is Adorama. UPS is not at fault here.

I email and call Adorama and still nothing gets resolved. It’s been a month since I sent the tripod back, no money back no exchange in sight, no apologies or concerns from Adorama what so ever. The last call last Friday I had with them, I asked to switch from exchange to refund. I was promised that the refund will be submitted and that it takes 2-3business days. There was no follow up from the call so I highly doubt the refund will be processed in as promised.

Adorama does not care at all about their customers, I would not recommend anyone to use their services.

Customer Services and Sales is Aweful

"Called once...was hung up on after 30 minutes...called back..was told a story that didn't make sense as they said the order was rejected...but then in the same sentence was said it was on hold. Couldn't explain and they never contacted me to tell me my order was rejected / on hold. I find this out by calling. Asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for 20 minutes. Hung up to call back a third time and the place was conveniently closed. and 15 minutes after that received an email they cancelled my order after we failed to contact them to verify the order. This is how they treat professional camera operators in Hollywood dropping $4K on a camera monitor...and who normally buys rigs worth $15k to $80K. Avoid this company at all costs, unprofessional, unreliable, and will waste countless hours at your cost when you can be billing on a set or project."

"From start to finish everything went COMPLETELY smooth. I had a few questions and Adorama's customer service is by far one of the best I've ever communicated with. Their prices are always where they should be... although most of the time they are Less expensive compared to competitors prices. Thank You Adorama.. Will TOTALLY shop there again."

Beware! This is the worst customer support I have ever experienced.

"Beware! I am in the middle of the worst customer support experience of my life. I will never, ever, ever purchase another product from Adorama and will actively steer other customers away from them. I’ve never said that about any other company in my life. Companies like B&H Photo and Sweetwater can get you the same thing, at the same price, usually in the same time, and their team actually cares about you as a customer. Adorama does not. They just want your money and then they want you to go away.

Adorama may be a generally respected vendor, and everything may be fine when they get the order right, but their customer care is an absolute nightmare. Over the course of the last week, I have dealt with at least 8 different customer care associates through exactly 44 emails (so far), multiple chats, and my initial phone call. They simply do not care about me as a customer enough to fix THEIR ERROR in a timely manner.

It’s not a complicated issue. I purchased a Clearsonic drum lid kit that was supposed to come with 6 pieces. Two of those pieces did not arrive. All they have to do is either locate the missing box and send it or refund me for the value of the missing items ($190). That’s it. But for an entire week, I have been getting emails telling me that they are trying to get hold of their warehouse, but are getting no response. It’s constantly, “Please give us 1-2 business days”. Well, it’s been a week at this point. I keep getting passed off from one person to another. They can’t simply contact their warehouse and locate the box. Or, it’s not that they can’t, it’s that they don’t care to.

It has become clear to me that this is a greedy company that does not care at all about their customers after the sale. Their customer support department has been outsourced to another country, so the associates have no investment in the company or motivation to truly help. They have no interest in resolving my problem, but it seems they plan to just sit around and try to wait me out until I give up. That’s not going to happen.

Unfortunately, they have me at a disadvantage because I can neither make them contact the warehouse nor make them refund the value of the missing items. I just have to sit here and wait on them…

Do not, do not, do not purchase from Adorama unless you really enjoy ending up in “Customer Care” sinkholes like the one I am in at the moment.

Adorama does not stand behind their advertising

"I made a purchase and paid for shipping insurance. Adorama purchased insurance and shipped, but the product did not arrive. Because Adorama purchased insurance, I cannot make a claim. Adorama customer service will not provide refund nor file insurance claim."

Please just use B%H instead.

"Dealing with Adorama has been a nightmare. I decided I was going to purchase a brand new camera and lens using the student discount, which in total made the order roughly $2000. Being a college student, this was a very significant amount of money (it is either way) so I was a little hesitant to make the purchase. I had also decided to purchase a warranty that would cover $2000 dollars worth of camera bodies and lenses, which was very convenient as both the body and lens would be covered. I placed the order in mid-December of last year, and with the shipping, it was expect to arrive within 3 business days. The warranty was digital so it arrived immediately and covered both the body and the lens I had just purchased. I checked the tracking number every day, but there was no indication that the package had even been received by the carrier. I contacted Adorama multiple times to ask about this, but their response was to be patient and check the tracking number every day. 5 days passed and there still had not been any new updates to the shipping, so I contacted an Adorama service rep for about the 3rd time. They claimed that the package had most likely been lost in the mail (doubtful as the carrier would have scanned it as soon as it was received) and said that they would send a replacement. I was already very frustrated because I was expecting it to arrive before a trip I was going to take, but that opportunity had passed. After placing the replacement order I was checking the shipping information daily again. This package had been delayed AGAIN as it was not given to the carrier in a timely manner. I was furious, however I was not as mad as my own mother. She knew that I had worked very hard to save up for this and when I was being treated so poorly by Adorama customer service (they were indifferent and daft), so she had gotten on the phone with a representative and demanded that the replacement be shipped overnight and that I receive some kind of compensation for the trouble. They agreed to ship the camera overnight after nearly an hour and a half on the phone, as well as issuing a $50 refund, which I was very surprised by. I do not think that it made up for the inconvenience they caused, but at least it was something. Also, in order for them to send the second replacement, they required me to pay another $2000 and they would just cancel the original order rather than just modify the shipping on the existing order. They didn't issue the refund for the original order until WEEKS after, which had me very very worried. The camera arrived after the THIRD attempt, which was a relief. The lens and camera were under warranty, which also was relieving. But it was too good to be true. About a month after receiving the camera (which is around 1.5 months after placing the original order) the warranty from the original order was canceled and refunded out of the blue. I had NEVER told anyone to cancel or refund the warranty, so I cannot imagine why it was stopped. I had contacted customer service reps many many many times to try to figure this out, and they were absolutely horrible. One of them accused me of sending a return with an empty box, and then just left the chat! She was threatening me and accusing me of fraud. I called one of their reps on the phone named Roxanne. She said that all I had to do was place an order for a new warranty, and everything would be taken care of. I placed the order, and I waited. Nothing happened for a few days, so I called her back. She said that she would take care of it and that she would follow up with me within a day. Another 3 days passed so I called again. She said she would call me back by the end of the day, but never did. This went on about 2 or 3 more times, and then I told her that if she could not figure the issue out by the end of the week, I would want a refund for the warranty. The end of the week came and I had no refund. I had emailed and called her asking to respond or for some kind of update, but she was totally silent. This is the worst customer service I have ever experience in my life from any company. I beg you to use B&H instead for whatever you need and to avoid these people at all costs. Their customer service is utterly incompetent and does not care about you one bit."

"The post items for sale on their website that seemingly “are delayed” by the manufacturer. These items are readily available elsewhere for $100 more than they “sell” it for but never deliver. These people are nothing but a scam"

Frustration on a silver platter...

"This used to be my go to website for buying photographic products 15 years ago. Not any more. it's hard to believe how much they have slipped and is only getting worse. My last 10 orders, yes 10 had nothing but problems, from missing items, wrong items, defective items, back-order, damaged item, Empty package, inappropriate packaging you name it. Their website seems to be disconnected from their actual inventory. The bad is that they are doing nothing about it. Skip Adorama and go straight to B&H you will save yourself a lot of aggravation. "

"I called customer service after getting an email about an item being in stock. I was told it was an error and that the rep would look into it. Shortly after, I received a call from CS and he had held it in my cart and helped me check out. WOW!! I was shocked. I so much appreciated the extra mile and effort by Manny to secure the item. Poo customer service

"For starters it takes 1-3 days to even get an initial response on questions. When they say their hours online, these are loose, I tried calling several times during the weak and can’t get anyone.

My main issue is I ordered a computer and was told it was shipping within 3 days and was provided a tracking number. 2-3 days later I was told that was not a correct number and my product would not be shipping till after Christmas. Now I’m trying to get this cancelled so I can have a present for my wife’s Christmas present... not going well as I can’t get a response from customer service because of their crappy hours.

Poor customer service, poor company shipping policies

"I was on hold for about 15 minutes before I could speak with a representative. When I finally got him on the phone, I explained my situation. I ordered two separate items. One was on back order indefinitely, and the second item was in stock. Because of the indefinite backordered item, the second item had not been shipped (I've waited over a week at this point). This shipping policy was not stated at the time I ordered said products. When I discussed this with the representative, the representative made excuses and explained Adorama's shipping policies to me instead of working towards finding a solution. I'd already wasted 15 minutes on hold, I don't need to waste more time listening to excuses as to why things are the way they are. When I expressed my frustration with the representative and tried to start working towards finding a solution, the representative muted his end of the call without warning. I stayed on the line for an additional 5 minutes for the representative to come back. The representative then hung up the phone. I had to call back again and wait another 15 minutes on hold prior to speaking with another representative that could solve my problem.

Why would a company hold on to a product that a customer had ordered because a second item is indefinitely on backorder? Wouldn't it create a better customer experience to get the customer products as soon as possible? If you're looking to purchase products online, go elsewhere. Adorama customer support is pretty awful and their policies do not serve the customer. Take your business to a company that serves the customer better.
