"The new screen works and looks good! The display appears to be remanufactured with thinner glass than the OEM original. You can see more discoloration in the LCD with light pressure on the display. I will probably install a screen protector to improve the longevity of the screen as even light scratching can greatly reduce the strength of glass.
It was fairly straight forward to install following the iFixit guide. An important note is to make sure you completely reinstall all the cable brackets before testing the display. One of the cables connecting the display board to the motherboard has a contact that prevents the computer from turning on unless the aluminum bracket is reinstalled. "

"I ordered all the parts and tools from iFixit, and followed the iFixit guide written by Jacob Richardson Earl for a similar model. The parts and tools arrived promptly, the replacement went smoothly, and the entire process took about 10 minutes.
The only hiccup was that my particular HP model also required a Phillips #0 screwdriver for 3 of the screws (in addition to the Phillips #1 screwdriver that was recommended), which I happened to have. This minor issue was entirely an HP thing, and not a shortcoming of Jacob Richardson Earl's very detailed directions, but users should be aware of slight variations between very similar HP models.
This is my second experience with iFixit, and I highly recommend iFixit for their high-quality parts and tools, and for their incredibly useful repair guides."
