"the battery was huge when we popped the case off, it was fairly easy to remove at that point. we did not have to use any solvents or pull the mainboard out of this 13 - just a few screws to get enough room to put the battery pad connector where it needed to be. easy reassembly and good to go."

"Took me 30 minutes to replace my battery which was dying too quickly, and my phone is back to normal. Looking forward to another 3-5 years of using the same phone, by spending 20$.
Was particularly surprised that the case back came with the glue strips integrated, and didn't need additional tape to fix it up. Hopefully it's gonna stay water resistant, but time will tell.

"This kit had everything I needed to get the repair done and it was packaged so nicely. At first, I thought had a defective digitizer because even after several tries I was getting the chaotic ghost taps that were causing the iPad to lock after failed passcode attempts. That meant every attempt to reseat the digitizer cable had to wait 15 minutes, and that cool-off period does not elapse when the iPad has its battery disconnected.

I finally had to do the cumbersome setup where the LCD screen is propped up at the foot of the iPad and the digitizer is propped on the right side and I could connect the digitizer cables and test it by tapping on the digitizer while craning my neck to see where I was tapping on the screen. It was perfectly fine -my problem the whole time was that one of the connectors kept coming loose during re-assembly. That was trickiest part - not the broken glass stuck all in the glue, not transferring the home button, it was just trying to get that connector to line up properly, snap into place and stay put."

The c-clamp looking device is the "Anti-Clamp" this is a way cool device.
The "Plastic Cards" are stiff enough to help pry and hold the device open while disassembling. I feel that it is safer than the "Jimmy", as I cut myself and sorta stabbed myself when using the "Jimmy" while opening my iPod 3rd gen
The iSclack is another ingenious device.

There are plenty of user friendly and easily understood repair procedures... The repair procedures are written in non-technical jargon which are easily understood. For the procedures there are pictures that convey what the repair person is conveying (one picture is worth a thousand words) to draw the person to a better conclusion.
The pictures also give you a view of the innards of your device, which gives you a better understanding of it."

"Ordered the Pixel 5A 5G replacement screen and within 3 days it showed up at my door, even in Ohio with the basic shipping. Great job USPS! After ordering and before receiving the screen I read through the guide on the iFixit site. I actually removed my screen before I got the replacement part. The good thing is I was removing a broken part, so I figured I couldn't break it any more than it was. This gave me the confidence that If I can remove it, putting it back together would be much easier.

Once I got the screen in the mail, I used the included screwdriver to remove the screw holding the screen cable to the phone. Unplugged the screen, cleaned the sealant surface with alcohol, installed the new gasket, and then proceeded to spend 10 minutes trying to plug in the new screen. That was the hardest part, blindly trying to plug in a really small connector. Once that was done I snapped it back together and powered it on. It is as good as new. The best part is the screen is a genuine part and works perfect.

I am a pretty mechanically inclined person who rarely hires anyone to do anything. I do all my own car diagnostics and repairs, home construction and other hands on things. However, I truly believe that anyone with a bit of common sense, the ability to follow directions, and most of all patience, will have no issues doing a screen replacement with the iFixit kit. "

"As long as you watch out for the wireless antenna cable near the top of the battery, the repair should be pretty easy!

Removing the older battery with the tabs feels almost impossible, but luckily it was discharged enough that I could just pry it out without it heating up too much. Installing the new battery with the provided adhesive strips is easy enough as long as you plug the battery in first. I did break the antenna cable at the top of the battery while prying, just like the last SE battery replacement I did, so I will have to purchase a new one. The new battery works great!"
