"Avoid at all costs. I placed an order for a Sony
external DVD recorder on September 8 - hey, why not?
Site showed it was in stock and it was the best price.
Should have checked here first. They charged my
credit card immediately.

Tried calling and emailing for order status, no responses.

On September 23 I get a sob story email about how
they're overwhelmed by orders and taking a long time
getting back to people on customer service.

On September 30, I emailed to cancel the order. Amazingly,
the next day (October 1) I get an email response confirming
the order had been cancelled. But two weeks later,
my credit card is still not refunded and the charge
has been disputed.

This has all the smell of a Ponzi scheme where they
try to hold on to as much of customers' money until
they're shut down. You might be one of the lucky ones
to get your merchandise, and you might get your money
back if you cancel, but I wouldn't count on it.

Got an email today which pretty much confirms they
are having liquidity problems.
"In fact we are in the final development stages of
a plan that will allow us to issue requested, and
required credits in an expedited manner."
Yep, classic run on the bank. This is bad.

Do NOT attempt to order from this scheme. Appeal

"This has been the worst internet shopping experience of mine by far. I ordered a new Canon printer on price alone. My card was charged immediately, but since the third week, when my printer had still not arrived, I have been trying to cancel my order and get my money back. After about two weeks of attempting to talk to someone or get an email response, I finally talked to a person named Bree who told me that the printer was not available to be shipped, even though it said "in stock" when I ordered it. The only info she could give me was that it would not be shipped, ever. She said she would issue a credit. Ten more days, still no credit, and I finally talked to a John at ext. 3304, who promised me a credit by October 3rd (due to letter of credit problems, he said it would take seven more days to get my credit). Today is October 17th, and I still have no credit and no printer, and now the phone message says they no longer offer phone support--for anything, not even billing questions. So I sent several blistering emails and still have no response.

DO NOT SEND YOUR MONEY TO THESE SCAM ARTISTS. I AM CONTACTING A LAWYER TODAY. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS WORTH IT, BUT I'M GOING TO DO MY BEST TO GET EVEN WITH THESE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Complete frauds. Do -NOT- do business with this company.

On 9-1-2003, I ordered a DWL-G650 wireless ethernet card from their web site, which stated that they had over 50 units in stock.

eTechWarehouse immediately charged my credit card the full $51.95 the very next day. Two weeks passed and my order had not shipped, even though it was still listed as having over 50 units in stock.

I emailed eTechWarehouse saying: either give me an actual shipment tracking number or refund my credit card. They canceled my order and said my credit card would be refunded within 5-7 business days.

They have not refunded my money. Instead, they continue to stall whenever I email them, saying they're having delays with the bank, etc, please wait another XX days. It is now almost an entire month and a half since I originally placed my order with eTechWarehouse (10-14-2003) and nothing, as far as I can see, has been done to actually refund my money they stole.

Stay away, stay away, stay away!

"I placed an order on 9/25/03 for a Western Digital 120GB FireWire External Drive. They stated on their site it was in stock and I confirmed this over the phone before I placed the order. Came to a total of 182.50 with shipping. 2 WEEKS GO BY Drive never shipped. I call to inquire as to why it never shipped, they explain to me that it takes time to ship, 2 weeks I mutter in astonishment and the young women on the phone says let me look int \o it some more and put me on hold. Comes back 10 minutes later just to tell me that its discontinued… umm no after a debate as to the item being discontinued they just are not stocking it any more and according to her “computer” its been like this for 4 weeks. SO I ask why is it on their site listed? Why can you place a order for it? And why am I told other wise? Better give me my money back… this will take a max of one Week. why? I don’t know well the Credit invoice shows up in my email the next day 10/2/03 and it is now 10/14/03 and no credit. I have been trying to contact them since the 13th and I get a automated answering machine on their 800 # stating “We apologize for the wait we are adding staff members to both our email and our phone system in effort to improve our service levels if u prefer to email us send your inquiry to ****@**** thank you good bye” and then they hang up

Now im three seconds away from screaming lawsuit if one of my last 20 emails in regards to this don’t get answered or I get a phone call in return I will keep you all posted but either way STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

"Ordered Sept. 23, 2003. part supposedly in stock more than 50 according to website. Called in September 26th about tracking info. was told part not shipping until at least another 2 weeks. Credit card charged rightaway. cancelled order,got e-mail confirming cancellation stating credit will be issued in 5-7 business days. waited until 10/7, left message and e-mailed. no response. had to call credit card company to reverse charges. WOULD NEVER TRY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

"Well, I concur with the last comment about the answering machine message. I called on Monday, October 6, 2003 and the lady that answered my call said that I should get a confirmation letter of shipment by the end of the week. After receiving no email response, I called them today with intention to cancel my order but got the answering machine message instead.
I'll try to get a hold of them for shipping details but will more than likely cancel if I get a chance.

I advise you not to order anything from this company

"Well, what shall I say.

The previous comment was about a shipment on Sept 23rd, 2003. Mine was on Sep 20th, 2003 and I have not received any status or updates on the shipment. I have tried contacting the company several times and they assured me that I will receive my package within severl business days. Today is October 8th, 2003 and I have not received any updates and my order is still saying "processing".

The funny thing here is that I called someone in charge of sales or marketing (i am not sure if he was really a supervisor or some other support guy), he told me because of the high volume of orders is causing a delay to my order. I guess whatever that means, this company is not doing its job or committed to their Terms and Conditions agreement shown on their website.

If the orders are delayed one or two or even 5 days, I could accept that, but I am not getting my order nor able to get my refund back, because guess what, will take may be another year or two to get to me back.

I guess I am also at the mercy of etechwarehouse to send me my stuff, and I believe that people MUST take into account these facts before buying from etw.com

No clue on what shall I do. 18 days passed by and yet no word on any status. And worst thing is that their phone today (oct 8th) has an answer machine that they are having some kind of an expansion in support team or whatever, and I could not get to talk to a live person. I hope that this company is not some type of a scam.

I tried to get any business directory in Tampa, Florida (where they are located) no referenece to etechwarehouse.com as a business. Go figure !


Just to give u an idea: a message of their customer support:

I would like to apologize at this time for the delay that has occurred with your order. We have experienced some rather intense shipping delays over the last month or so, and we have had to upgrade our systems to compensate with this demand. The implementation of these upgrades has taken use of many of our resources, and have further delayed the shipping process. At this time, all orders look to be shipped out sometime within 7-10 business days. Unfortunately, we are still unable to give an exact date. We are sadly behind on both shipping and crediting ends, and we hope to have this situation finished with very soon. If you have any other questions or requests, please email us back at ****@****, and we will be able to get back to you shortly thereafter. Again, I apologize for the delays, and I hope you have a great day!

"This order from eTechWarehouse included items for resale to clients. The order was placed online on September 23; at that time, the system showed all items in stock ("more than 50" available). Expecting my items to arrive within 4-7 business days, I did not check the status for nearly a week.

When I checked back, my order still showed "processing". My card had been charged for the order amount, but nothing had shipped. I started calling. "Started", because I could not for the first several days reach a live person. I left three voicemails in the first two days, and finally persisted (redialing more than 10 times) and reached a live person on the 3rd day of calling. During this time I also sent an email and a fax and received no response to either.

When I spoke with a customer service rep on the third day, he told me he would personally assure that my order was shipped by the end of the day, and agreed to call me back (regardless of what he was able to accomplish) with an updated status report before the end of the day. He did not call back.

Over the next 10 days this scenario repeated itself three times: call repeatedly to finally reach a live person, extract a promise of action and a promise to call back, and wait in vain for any response. Each rep's given extension proved to be a dead-end line which disconnected me when I called back, and I would have to keep dialing until getting a new person on the next call.

The fourth rep's extension actually worked. She did NOT call me back as promised, and also did NOT succeed in getting my order shipped. However, after leaving her an insistent voicemail, she did call me back after another day had passed. The news was not good.

The order was placed on September 23. On October 7 (today), the order STILL had not been shipped. The items are in stock, but the rep told me today that they will not be shipped for AT LEAST another 10 days! She would not let me speak with a supervisor ("My manager would just tell you the same thing") nor say anything other than "I'm very sorry" to any of my requests for further escalation of the issue or expedition of the order.

If I canceled my order, she said, I could "realistically" (if that means anything from this company) expect my refund to be processed within 10-14 business days. At the rate things are going, I wouldn't see that money for months. So, I can't get the items, and don't have the funds to purchase them again. I am at the mercy of eTechWarehouse.

In an abortive attempt to make me feel better, she told me that no one else's orders were getting out on time, either -- that many of their customers had placed orders more than a month earlier which still had not been shipped. "We're just too busy", she said. Great. "Thanks", I said. "Now I feel even more certain that this will be the last order I ever place with you."

Once this fiasco is ended, I will NEVER AGAIN order from this company. I urge you to heed this warning and follow suit. Good prices aren't worth it if the product is obsolete by the time you receive it -- and woe unto those who, like myself, order something on behalf of a customer. Then you'll both get burned.

"RUN RUN RUN away from this seller. They do not ship their own items, they are just mjiddle men. Their website neglects to infor you of this in a proper manner. I ordered onlin on a sat. the following tuesday i had not recv'd an email confirmation so i call them. I was told my order did go thur but would be atleast a week before they shiopped it from a supplier. My card was charg3ed immediatly. i canceled and was sent an email claiming i would be gioven credit in 5-7 days. 19 days pass and no credit. so i call and was told it would be atleast 10 more days because the bank was not giving the company enbough money daily to refund all the credits that have been giving.. POOR POOR POOR.... on their way out of business in my opinion"

"Kiss your money goodbye. I ordered back on Aug 19th, they promptly charged my credit card and I waited for a month for them to ship a "supposedly" in stock item. I cancelled my order to which their website said it would take 5-7 business days to process which hasn't occurred. I have reported this fraud to my credit card company and will be contacting the State's Attorney office (which is just down the road). Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake - DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SCAM OPERATION."

"I wish I could give less than one star. I cannot express the frustration that dealing with this company has caused. The worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Three weeks trying to straighten out a purchase (an hour on hold at a time & then dropped VM that they NEVER responded to, 10 calls & emails/day that were NEVER responded to). When a person was finally contacted -- they promised to call back & NEVER DID. I finally sent a wire transfer to assure speedy shipment -- after a week of trying to call to confirm receipt -- finally was told that they never received (my bank says they are lying) & that if the payment is found, it will be 10 days to receive goods.
PLEASE, PLEASE SAVE YOUR SANITY & DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY -- I only hope that I can get my money back.

"I purchased a monitor from etw on August 8th, 2003. The website said that they had at least 50 in stock. I waited a few days to see if they sent it or not. Called them up and they said they will send it the next day or day after. Waited 2 days after that and called again. They said it will be shipping out in a few days. It was a week later and they still hadn't shipped it. Cancelled order one week later. I am still awaiting a credit on my credit card from over a month ago (today is 9-22-2003). Tried calling many times only to get put on hold for unreasonable amounts of time 30 mins plus! Emailed them last week and haven't received a response."

"Don't order from these people. I thought I'd get lucky and took a chance ordering from them, but no luck. The website said they had the part I wanted in stock. It wasn't sent for 2 days, so I cancelled it (on August 28). They charged my card ANYWAY and have not been able to get through on the 800 number or get a response to e-mail and it is now the 13th of September and the charge is STILL on my credit card. I'm so furious right now. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Trust me."
