"Ordered a replacement lamp for my Samsung DLP on Saturday 11:00am EDT. They stated that orders received prior to 4:00pm EDT usually ship the same day. I thought for a bulb, it should ship. Called 2 days later and it still didn't arrive. The rep said that Fedex didn't pick it up. Sure blame Fedex for their own lack of customer service. Sorry, I canceled the order and told them I can't do business with Discount Merchant or MI Technologies!"

"Their claim is that you should pay extra for factory parts. The lamp replacement for a Zenith projection TV did not accept the screw from the original lamp. The connector was also loose fitting. Any resistance while screwing in the screw could break the connector. I was told to go out and find one by 3 Discount Merchant reps. Caring a $140 lamp around to hardware store is not what I paid for. There is a risk of scratching or breaking it and then having to pay for another. They finally agreed to test screws in lamps in the warehouse and send me one. They never did. I had to eventually find one. Once they have your money, good luck. "

"First of all I had to e-mail them to get a tracking number for FedX...but got it fast in 4 days...The item could have been packed a bit better , instead of jamming it to one corner in the box... If the box were ever packed on something , it would have damaged the board.... other than that , ....price was good ... will order again from them ...."

"Discount Merchant delivered 2 bad colorwheels. They even claimed they tested the second one before it went out. I'm not sure how they really test them but obviously it is a worthless test. I would never buy from discount-merchant again. When I RMA'd the 2nd bad colorwheel they said they checked it and it was fine. I will bet my life that it is not fine and these jokers will be sending this "fine" colorwheel out to the next poor sucker. You could start this colorwheel up outside of the main housing and the wheel would spin up and soon after it starts to squeal. These guys are making money off restocking fees. I paid $82 for the colorwheel with shipping and all and they refunded me was $52. Very screwed up.

Paid Samsung tech to come look at it and he confirmed the colorwheel from DM was bad and that I needed another one. I purchased my third colorwheel from a seller on Ebay with good feedback (rather than pay the overpriced Samsung cost). Installed it and it worked like a charm. It has been working now flawlessly for about a week.
When I shared my experience with DM, they would not listen and said that colorwheel was fine and would not give me a full refund. Please think twice before buying from these folks.

"Excellent customer service using the online CHAT service. Extremely courteous, polite, efficient, and appeared to be knowledgeable. When product arrives, I will update this review.
Product arrived today, in Mexico, 12 days after original order date. There were "challenges" with payment for the shipping charges which delayed shipping. Overall, a very satisfactory negotiation with great service, good product, great communication, and reasonable price.

"Fantastic! That sums it all up.
They had not only the TV Lamp I needed but also provided an online video on how to replace it, Step by step!
Ordering from Discount-Merchant saved me over $100 even after I chose the overnight shipping!
I know this for sure because two years ago I paid a TV repair man $350 to replace the same bulb.
(The bulbs are rated at lasting one year by Phillips and Mitsubishi.)

Luis at their customer service on line chat was also just wonderful. Providing Quick, courteous and very accurate replies to my shipping questions.
Overall just an amazing online ordering experience!

"Ordered Philips XL-2200U replacement bulb for Sony TV on July 26. Received product on 29th even though I opted for USPS (cheapest) shipping method. The bulb was packed well and I had no issues with the online ordering system.

There is a considerable product return fee, so make sure you order the correct product.

"We purchased 2 OEM TV lamps from this company. The first one lasted 10 months. The second one gave us problems from the beginning. We called the company within a few days of instillation and they insisted the problem was with the TV and not the lamp. We called a certified technician to come out and the problem was indeed the bulb. He replaced the bulb and housing, but Discount-Merchant would only give us another OEM lamp, not a refund. Plus, they made us pay shipping to return the defective bulb--$16.15."

"I ordered a BP96-01472A lamp/enclosure assembly for my Samsung DLP. Shipping was quick; I ordered on June 28th and had it in hand on July 1st. I anticipated a quick swap...not to be. The old assembly came out in seconds but the replacement assembly just wouldn't go in. Something was keeping it from plugging in. Comparing the old and new assemblies side by side, the difference was obvious. Whoever had assembled the bulb into the replacement enclosure had put the connector piece in upside down. I called DM on the phone, expecting an offer to ship a properly assembled replacement promptly. Nope, I got sent a link to a video to fix it myself. I was told to disassemble the enclosure (thereby voiding the warranty since that requires cutting the "Warranty Void" stickers), flip the connector AND connect the wires to the correct terminals. If you're expecting a factory assembled bulb/enclosure for the price you're paying, think again. If you're expecting a company that will do the right thing for its customers, think again."
