They simply don't care about their customers at all.

"I spoke with the salesman, making it clear, repeatedly, that the only way I would make the $3,000 purchase would be if he could absolutely GUARANTEE that the furniture would be available on the pick-up date, as it would cost me $100 for the truck rental, I would have to have a friend come to help, and the drive was 2 hours (round-trip) to pick it up. Additionally, that weekend I was having a party, and needed the furniture for the party.

I was assured multiple times that it would absolutely be available. No question.

I then called the number to make the payment. I, again, asked the person if they were involved in scheduling and delivery in any way, and she informed me that she was the one who actually did the scheduling. So I informed her, again, that this purchase was 100% contingent on the furniture being available AT the pick-up time ON the pick-up date, and that if it was not 100% assured, I did not wish to make the purchase.

She assured me that it was. At least one of these calls was recorded, so Value City has no excuse. They can easily check the calls.

When the day arrived, I had a friend stay the evening as he lived 2 hours away, and was going to help me drive the large truck to pick it up. We get up early in the morning, and drive to rent the truck. We then make the drive to pick up the furniture.

When we arrive, we're told, "Oh, yeah, that order... Yeah, we were 'gonna call you'."

GONNA call me? You KNEW the furniture wasn't being delivered and NOBODY NOTIFIED ME? When it was repeatedly made clear that the sale was CONTINGENT upon the furniture being where it was promised to be, when it was promised?

Finally speaking to a manager, he shows me the computer screen to point out how "someone changed the date" as if that's in any way, shape, or form helpful. The "best he can do" is have it delivered "some time next week".

After leaving, I called to cancel the order, and the "best" the manager I spoke to "could do" was to knock $100 off the $3K purchase. Still wouldn't get the furniture till "some time next week". He was now even suggesting I'd still have to coordinate pick-up myself. I told him he'd have to do better than that, and he said, he "couldn't." I told him I would be leaving reviews of my experience, and his response was, "That's fine." He literally didn't care. And after seeing the reviews on this site, I can see that this is a nation-wide attitude.

Never mind that the house party would now involve friends and family sitting to watch movies on lawn chairs, and the fact that that 2 ours of our weekend was shot, and my buddy drove 4 hours round-trip for no reason, etc. Never mind that if there was even a CHANCE that they wouldn't follow through with their GUARANTEE, that I would've used a more reliable competitor (and will absolutely do so from now on).

What good is a company's "Guarantee" if there are absolutely ZERO repercussions for failing to follow through on that "Guarantee?" I literally only chose them because they promised that it 100% WOULD be available for pick-up on the date and time we agreed on. They failed to follow through, and as a result, my guests were uncomfortable, I was out $100, and my friend and I were out the time. And all Value City's "out" is that they were mildly inconvenienced by losing a sale. AND THEY DIDN'T CARE.

I will never, ever purchase anything from Value City again, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this experience.

Do Better!

"I purchased a bunk bed with the couch bottom for my son 2 years ago. However my son just recently started sleeping in his room on it. I just realized that it was set up backwards so I called the store I purchased the furniture from and they told me I would have to pay $100+. Not only did I already pay a delivery fee I tipped the delivery guys $20 a piece. They wouldn't even give me a discount for a future purchase. All of my furniture has always came from VCF. You should take care of your loyal customers."

MY WORST CHOICE!!!!

"I took my time to search the best deal and I thought that City Furniture was my best option... IT WAS ACTUALLY MY WORST CHOICE. It has been almost 1 month since I bought and payed the beds and matress for my kids and we are still waiting for the matress ( My kids are sleeping in air matress), we have received 4 different notifications of delivery, my husband did not work everyone of those days to receive the matress and they just did not appear and they did not even call back to notify us ( no consideration with the time of their costumers) and the seller told me that if I want the matress I needed to pay a private truck to take me the matress. One of the bed was not the option that I chose, even so they sent me what they consider without any notification ( no respect for their buyers). I made phone calls, sent e mails, even I went to the store ( It is in Tamarac Florida) which is 45 min far from my home and still NOTHING, my children are still sleeping in air matress. MY REGRET FOR HAVING BOUGHT IN THIS STORE CANNOT BE BIGGER."

The Best Delivery Guys Ever !

"After a small altercation,the delivery guys from Value City came to bring my sectional and dining set. They were very professional and efficient. They set everything up to my liking and satisfaction. I am not good with names but they were two spanish or mexican guys. They delivered my furniture around 4:30 pm on Wednesday August 28th, 2019. I give these guys the highest rating that the store allows them to have. They were a great team, the VERY BEST. Thanks Guys for your AWESOME SERVICE !!.

Excellent Ratings

"Went to Novi, MI Value City Furniture store 2 times in July 2019, 1st time was ok, 2nd time was excellent, store manager Lenore Parvu did an outstanding job, there should be more of Lenore's, the delivery guys were over the top, had to have an EE (even exchange) that went very well, the 2 delivery guys were outstanding, will shop there and recommend store highly. Kudos to Lenore and delivery guys, thanks a bunch."

Asia saved the day!

"Sales person Ade was pleasant and knowledgeable. I had an delivery issue that was resolved by Asia, I was really getting frustrated with the issue Asia said she could help resolve the issue and she did. Didn’t get what we paid for and value city is unconcerned with why that’s an issue.

"Images included. Bottom line. Value City doesn’t seem to understand that it’s unethical to expect a customer to purchase a poorly manufactured couch for 1,300 dollars and be satisfied. Didn’t get what we paid for and value city is unconcerned with why that’s an issue. I have never written a review for anything in my life. Wish I could give no stars.

They sent us a sectional that wasn’t put together correctly. The trampoline on the inside was being held up with TWO STAPLES. Another piece of the frame wasn’t even slid into the correct spot so it caved in on that side. All that was said is that they would keep sending technicians until it met manufacturing standards. About to have a fourth technician come in to work on it, but it looks like my wife and I need to purchase a new couch. They took no responsibility and wouldn’t hold the manufacture accountable. I got injured while moving a piece because there was a protruding sharp object sticking out of it. Anytime I brought that up a person of the phone wouldn’t respond or just changed the subject. Minor injury but was completely avoidable. Only got this couch in April. Very unethical service procedures after purchase. Don’t go to value city unless you want to take the risk of going through a similar experience.

Excellent Customer Service

"I went to VCF in Woodbridge in June 2019, VA after being to many places looking for a complete bed set for my daughter. I needed something that will be delivered in the following week or so. Amir Afzal was more than helpful. He helped me in all possible ways he could. He is extremely helpful and he provided excellent customer service. I am asking his management to recognize him."

Sofa was delivered without the legs--no customer service action

"Multiple phone calls and no urgency from customer service and no resolution 24 hours later. That is non-customer service. They may be able to get someone to come out and put legs on it in 10 days which is completely unacceptable. I don't care that they use an outside delivery service, it is their obligation to deliver the merchandise as purchased."

"Tammy Hammoud was my sales person at the Dearborn store. I can’t say enough about her attention to detail, professionalism and willingness to go the extra extra mile. I purchased an ottoman and wanted this area rug really bad but it was out of stock with no indication if it would become available again. I left the store a little disappointed, you know how it is when you really want something. Listen a few days later I get a call from Tammy telling me she found the area rug. I can’t wait to pick it up. She’s seasoned, she’s earned my loyalty and respect. If you want a salesperson who is not just out for the sale, but really cares about what you’re shooping for the Tammy Hammoud is who you want. There ya have it, truth straight from my heart. "

"Ordered chair online a month ago, was told it would be drop shipped within 7 days

Beyond ****!

"I ordered this sectional set, the delivery date was set out 3 weeks. Ok, I decided to wait. 3 days before the delivery date, I received a confirmation call. 2 days before the delivery date, I received a call informing me of a delay to call another number because it was an online order. The rep had me on hold for 19 mintues only to tell me the next available date was going to be in 2 more weeks. He didn't explained why...I told him I don't even want it anymore and I'm in the process of receiving a refund. Wtf waits 5 weeks for furniture to be delivered? Not me...****!"
