I noticed an error in an order confirmation on my last order and all it took to get it corrected was an email. They responded within a few hours in fact. The companies main product is of course vacuum tubes but they sell many music related products. My largest purchase was an amplifier kit and I couldn’t be more pleased with the product. I ordered their JTM 45+ head kit and was able to customize the kit to my liking with a few simple emails. The circuit designs on their amp kits are simply amazing! That classic rock tone of your favorite guitarist that required them to have name brand amps modified to achieve? It’s in the circuit designs of their kits and at a fraction of the price to buy and modify a vintage tube amp. Great products, great customer service and fair prices, what more could you ask."

"This is a story about 4 211 GE tubes which I asked TubeDepot to test. I live in Israel and have sent them the tubes for testing. I will skip the part where the results I received were vague and not professional since the real story came later.
I asked them to send me the tubes back and paid them 75$ for shipping. I specifically asked them to put the value of 75$ on the package so I won't have to pay customs on my own tubes.
A few days later I get a call from local FedEx that I need to pay 300 dollars duties on a shipment from the US which was declared at 2000$. What, I yelled? Yes, you get it right. The people at TubeDepot sent the shipment with a value of 2000$ on the invoice although I specifically told them to put just the shipping cost, not to mention the fact that these tubes didn't cost even a third of that amount.
Anyhow, there was no way around it with the local customs authorities and so I told TubeDepot that I have no intention of paying the customs and I leave it to their conscience to either ship it back to the US or dump it. So I was told they agreed to ship it back to the US.
A week has passed and I get a note from TubeDepot that they got the tubes back and they asked me what should they do with them. I said I would try and sell it on Ebay.
A month later I sold the tubes for 400$ and I asked TubeDepot to ship it to the buyer. But then I got my second shock from them. They now tell me that they paid 328$ (!) for the shipping and they ask me to pay them before they send the tubes. No way!
Why 328$ dollars as opposed to the 75$ I paid one way? Only tubeDepot has an answer to that, maybe the same answer of why they put a value of 2000$ on the invoice in the first place.
So I lost the tubes with this business and I will never ever do any business with them again."

"Have been ordering from the Tube Depot for a couple of years and had no problems. Their shipping is very low and the tubes are well boxed and protected. I order many EL84 tubes and go for the burning in option if a problem should come up most likely it will be caught although jj and EH EL84 tubes are very reliable anyway. Don't know how they can sell JJ EL84 tubes so low but they do. If you bias your gear correctly and it has no issues the tubes will last, unfortunately many people own borderline guitar amplifiers and audio equipment that needs servicing and when a tube goes they blame the seller. Yes a tube can go bad early but the quality control has gotten much better with New Sensor and JJ . If you beat the crap out of your guitar amplifier and raise the bias above the manufacturer spec you will most definitely decrease the life of a tube. Tube depot is one of two great places to order from period ! The other starts with Tube also. To me there are only two i trust."
