False advertising from SpotHero

"Not a great experience w their monthly parking deal. I got a quote from SH on their website, entered credit card info, and got a confirm number only to have the local garage send me an email an hour later saying “DENIED”.
Couldnt quite understand it, but seems the parking garage randomly decided to charge $500 more per month than SH was advertising (not a typo)!!

I spoke with SH and they were like “sorry, ultimately it’s the local garage decision on pricing”. Makes ZERO sense to me and local garage should honor their pricing arrangements w SH and SH should hold them to it

AN ABSOLUTE SCAM! DO NOT USE THIS APP AT ALL COSTS

"SpotHero is AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!
My reservations were denied to garages on 2 separate occasions. The 24-hr Customer service hotline does not work. I took a video of the parking attendant telling us the garage couldn't take our car and that I will receive a refund from SpotHero. This along with all of our detailed booking info was shared multiple times. After going back and forth for over a month with 6 people in the "Customer Service department" they are still beating around the bush asking me to provide more proof and receipts of the othjer garage I "must have booked at when refused entry at the ones in partnership with SpotHero".

These people are absolute THIEVES. Their website states "Your Parking Reservation is 100% Guaranteed. When you pay with SpotHero, we guarantee you will have a spot to park in at the price you paid or your money back." THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE!

Stay away at all costs. We have reported them to the BBB. My reimbursement of the $105.76 ($53.01 + $52.75) has still not been received.

Sent me to an apartment garage!

"Going to concert outside of Washington DC & I missed the Meet & Greet w/a favorite band) because Spothero sent me to wrong place. And apartment building (with its own parking garage). This happened while I had a sporthero customer representative literally on the phone with me, the, apartment’s manager came out to try to help me while confirming I was indeed at the correct address being provided by spothero however the garage was not available for public parking.

I had to buy a park spot (paid for by the hour which have the receipts for along with original paid parking. I’ve been told for weeks I’d receive a refund for both.

Been given run around for weeks now. Not happy at all.

No Satisfaction

"I've had two incidents with this company. One when I reserved a spot, drove all the way into the city just to find the lot full. Too bad, I was told. You can get a refund. The second, reserved my spot, drove an hour into the city and COULD NOT FIND THE GARAGE. I had people on the street trying to hep me. Went into two different garages that were wrong. My GPS couldn't find it. I had to park somewhere else. When I called Spothero they were completely unsympathetic. No refund. As a fairly loyal customer (i,e., use Spothero often) I felt this was unfair. Very unfair.

Washington DC Event Parking disaster

"What happened with spothero.

Moral of the story: If on a budget make sure you verbally make sure everything is in ordinance with spothero event parking because SpotHero customer service will make it hell to get reimbursed for their shortcomings.

I looked up spotheros event parking info to be sure I would be fine. I found out on the event parking 101 spothero website times set are a estimate and you have one hour from event actual ending to retrieve your car.

We leave as the main event starts so early. We walk to parking lot. We arrive and gates/garage is closed. There is no worker. There is a sign with a number for after hours help. I call and they said no one can help and we need to pick up the car the next morning. We call for the Uber. While waiting I take geotagged timestamped pictures on my phone and check for live results of the fight, which just had ended.

Fast Forward next morning.

I couldn’t sleep in if I wanted because I was short on cash and couldn’t afford to get ripped off even more. So I loaded up 10 dollars on my metro card and went to pick up my car. After pleading with the guy who wanted to charge me 50 plus dollars for overnight parking he let me off with a 15 dollar fee. I call spothero right after I get my car. I explain what happened and she told me I would get reimbursed and to a response to a email with receipts resulting from this. I did that.

Later

I receive a email asking me what time I arrived at the garage. I get flustered and frustrated. I feel like I provide a bunch of pictures and screenshots in an unorganized way. I get contacted by the management team telling the account management team is actively looking into the situation. After waiting, I called again to got an update where I was told multiple people had no issue with event parking. I don’t know how that has anything to do with me. I get flustered and frustrated gave another statement pretty detailing everything Ive already said in a different way.

Later…

I call spothero. I get the news I am getting refund for initial spothero reservation and the uber won’t be reimbursed. The reason I will get refund for the reservation is because the 15 dollars is cheaper than the reservation price. I wasn’t provided a reason on why my uber won’t be reimbursed. The wrong spothero and the lot did me didn’t get validated. I got a refund on I’m guessing a policy not related to my case. Im left with a uber bill. I get promised they call from the management team.

Final Thoughts
After, finally sitting down and writing everything down. I feel pretty dumb not taking a picture of the closed garage. Also, I know there’s stuff you guys may be weary of like what the phone call to garage help was like or if i was drunk or something like that, but its really just a case of me getting event parking and the garage not adhering to spothero event parking policies and making me pick up the car the next day.

Latest update:
I received no call from a management team and I get updated. I received a email telling I get a refund for the initial reservation and half of a refund for the Uber and in SpotHero credits. I plan on never using this app again, and I was expecting getting reimbursed in cash. So I have to spend more time on customer service to try to get this resolved.

No refunds given if going to a concert and the artist cancels

"I got a SpotHero spot for Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas for a concert there on Saturday night 9/9/23. When I arrived at the stadium, I learned that the artist had just cancelled the concert. I called the next day to try to get my money back since the parking spot was never used and the event didn't happen and was told they were going to keep my $50 . They said that if I had called them immediately when it happened they might of done something but once the time finished, they were keeping it. What a horrible way to run a business. Ironically, Ticketmaster had no problem giving me a refund for a show that wasn't attended because the artist cancelled."

Will not use SpotHero again

"I will not be booking with SpotHero again as I cannot count on my space being reserved. I used SpotHero 6/3 and when I arrived at the lot that I had reserved a space at, the lot was full I had to find parking elsewhere at a higher rate. I called you customer service number and the associate said that I would receive an email concerning the refund of my $7.29 or the amount that I had ultimately pay, which was $10.00. I received the email the next morning stating that I needed to provide a receipt for the cost of my parking. Unfortunately, the garage that I parked in was unmanned and no receipt was given."

Reservation is not a garuntee

"I had a prepaid reservation today at a garage near a hospital where I had an appointment. When I arrived, the attendant told me the lot was full and I would have to go somewhere else. He said this happens often with reservation apps like spothero.

I pleaded with him, as I just had surgery yesterday, and this was my post surgical evaluation. He allowed me after some discussion.
The point is, many of us prepay for the convenience of parking in a reserved spot. We pay a fee for that privilege.
Spothero needs to do better. At the very least they should warn customers in very clear and obvious terms that their spot is not garunteed.

nightmare

"I had the nightmare experience of my life that cost me 5k in personal property loss and 3k in car damages after spothero's misrepresentation of the parking garage I paid to park for a monthly fee of $250. I was moving out of my apartment and needed a secure parking garage to store my vehicle with my belongings while I was out of country. I called spothero specifically with that request and explained my situation and asked if the parking garage at 1821 north Pearl Street in Dallas Texas is completely safe, secure and monitored? I was assured by spothero representative that garages like that one are 100% secure, monitored and PATROLLED 24/7 so nothing ever could possibly happen there. When I came back from out of country I walked into my car being broken into, damaged and burglarized of my entire life. My entire life was gone because because spothero assured me the parking garage is patrolled at all times and I believed it! Rep even checked the garage and address and said 'yeah he's sure its patrolled by security always"! After the matter I spoke with parking garage manager and he said that vandalism happens there on constant basis and no one is there to prevent it! I just really wish I would have never chosen to do what I did and believed a single word of spothero representative to not lose my life because of someone's greediness to sell parking , unprofessionalism and misrepresentation of things that cost me both financial and mental losses I have never experienced in my life. "

"i pre paid for 2 cars and made reservations for a garage by Brooklyn Bridge Park . When we got there the attendant told us the lot was full . We showed him the reservations from Spot Zero and we were told the joke of a company very often gives out reservations where there are no spaces . DONT EVER CONSIDER SPOT HERO"

Don’t use it!

"DONT USE IT! The football stadium I was going to has SpotHero on their website to reserve a spot to help people find parking close to the stadium. So I see all the bad reviews, think to myself well if the stadium is recommending to use it, it can’t be that bad right? Oh do I wish I listened to the comments. I sit in traffic, pull up to the gate, and of course the QR doesn’t work. Just like all the comments said it wouldn’t. “Invalid code”. So we had to pay another $50-$60 to park somewhere else and of course it was much further from the stadium. Keep looking around, do not use this app. "
