looks like they are going out of business

"I bought from them for 20 years. They now offer about 10% of the items that they had offered.. Every time I look for something, they no longer carry it. I will not even renew my membership next time."

They worked for me

"Having been ripped off by ammoliquidator, I decided to try Sportsmans Guide because they had free shipping.
I received my package in just a few days and it was actually a day early.

Excellent prices on Makarov 9MM and 38 special. Hopefully they will prove to be ok the second time.

Order Cancelled with No Notification

"I placed an order, received an order confirmation email, and never heard anything else from them. After the 7 business days elapsed for shipping, I contacted them, and they had cancelled my order because they used the name from the shipping information as the name on the billing information (separate addresses and names). I was never notified when my order was cancelled. They stated I should reorder, but that they would not offer any discounts or expedited shipping for the inconvenience. I will never order from this company, and I do not recommend anyone else give them their business either. Unprofessional and horrible customer service. "

Poor quality/not at all as described

" I was so excited to try out their camping products, especially since I was going camping and for such a great price. When we got to our camping site, we immediately try to assemble and was unable to assemble correctly so that the product will work and one of us sat down that way 200 pounds and the product said it could hold up to 250 pounds and the product broke. When I tried to call customer service, it was a deadline. When I tried to contact brad’s deals, they stated that they were not responsible for any products but only presented the deals and we would have to contact the vendor. I was really upset when I called, to get a deadline. Save your money and your time, and don’t order from this company."

Was Never Delivered

"I ordered a pair of moccasins and paid for 3 day express shipping. Five days later, no delivery. I emailed customer service, they wrote back that my order had been cancelled per their credit department. I don’t have credit with this company. I paid with a MasterCard debit card. They had my email and phone number to contact me if there was a problem, really disgusted."

Lie about your item has shipped every time

"They send you a email Your item has shipped (example only) today the 3d wow,will arrival by the 7th,the 7th it hasn't moved. Check the tracking changed to the 13th arrival ?I email them complaining a customer service rep emails me saying it will be on time (can't be it's late) now they change to the 14th??? I tell them I'm going to report them to the FCC and get it on the 13th? Bad for business"

I've Been a Customer for Well Over 20 Years...

"I've been buying from SG for well over 20 years and a Guide Member for 16+. I have had a couple of order hiccups during that time but nothing like some of the folks here are describing. 22 orders in 2017 so far and over 40 in the last two years. Always had great service and orders that were filled quickly. They had ammo in stock at reasonable prices when most other etailers were still claiming OOS and trying to gouge on pricing for what they did have. They still have some of the best prices on ammo and with their regular free shipping options I haven't found a better deal anywhere.
I've been really happy with their Guide branded products as well. Seem to be of good quality and at an exceptional price. Currently wearing a year old pair of their walking shoes that I bought on sale for $20.00 bucks. They are an order of magnitude more comfortable than the $80.00+ Rockport's I had been wearing with a custom insert from the Podiatrist!
I have read through many of the reviews here and it's obvious that many of the low ratings are from folks who caused their own problems by not knowing/researching what they were ordering. If you're spoiled by 2-day shipping and can't live without it maybe you should stick with Amaz*n. I have no doubt SG screws up an order from time to time. Anyone who sells in any kind of volume is going to have a glitch now and then but as a volume buyer from Amaz*n I can tell you they have screwed up more of my orders than SG has by far. So far, SG has done very well by me and I will continue to be a loyal customer and recommend them to others.

cannot get the correct boots i ordered

"I ordered the military surplus desert combat boots and the boots I received were nothing like the boots I ordered and I cant even find them on there website. So I asked for a exchange and got those boots two days ago and they are the same boots as the first pair. I emailed customer service three times and all I got was what appeared to be a automated message (response) and called a total of two times. The second time I called was today and I don't even know what is going on now, the guy I talked to didn't seem to care at all and said all I can do is exchange the boots again. They cannot even tell me for sure that I will get the right boots! In the mean time I have two pairs of boots I have to ship back. They have not even attempted to call me or reach out to fix the problem."

Great products from a TERRIBLE website/company

"Look, I want to start off by saying that I really do enjoy the products that Sportsman's Guide offers. They also do offer them at a fairly competitive price and offer their own "Guide Gear" brand of apparel and footwear that in my opinion, is excellent. That being said, I would advise to completely look past this and consider going with another online source! The way that this website structures its business is as shady as it gets. Everything seems to be straight forward but trust me, once you fall into their trap, they have you for good, which I have come to find out, is probably their actual goal. At all cost, avoid joining the Buyers Club because once you enter, it is almost impossible to get out! The countless times I have had to contact them for questions or concerns has reached its limit. I will no longer give service to place that honestly doesn't seem to care about their customers at all. Until I find out that this website/business has had a complete overhaul, I will be ordering online elsewhere. "

"never had such a hard time getting an order to ship. After paying extra for 3 day ship, 8 days later, item still not shipped. have to wait to get a letter, call back , give them a code, THEN they will ship it,. they are total **** hats. will NEVER buy from them again"

Terrible. Don't buy from Sportsmans Guide.

"Placed an order, according to Fedex the order was damaged and not deliverable. No one from SG contacted me, when I called SG to discuss, they were out of what I ordered. They would not substitute another item nor apologize for my inconvenience. Bottom line it's a sub-par business with crappy customer service."

Go to any other competitor out there!!

"SG really can't get their act together. In a day and age of 2 day shipping, there is really no reason their orders take weeks to arrive. This is the third order where I paid for expedited shipping and over a week has passed. The current order was $10 extra for 2nd day air, and 13 days later, it is still processing.

They also are the only website I've encountered that hasn't streamlined the FFL info process. (Expect an unannounced hold on lower orders due to mistakes on their end).


I cancelled my membership after I realized they will consistently disappoint their customers.

Go to Midway, Palmetto, or any other website out there that has their act together.

I do not know how they stay afloat.
