awful customer service

"DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. ORDERED PARCEL PAID £7.99 FOR PREMIUM DPD NEXT DAY DELIVERY (TRAINERS FOR MY SONS BIRTHDAY) BUT IT WENT MISSING OR ACTUALLY IT NEVER LEFT THEIR WAREHOUSE BUT I HAD TO WAIT A WEEK TO CONFIRM IT HAD BEEN LOST. REORDERED BUT 1 PAIR WAS OUT OF STOCK SO ONLY SENT OUT 1 PAIR BUT DIDNT ACTION A REFUND ON THE FIRST PAIR EVEN THOUGH I CHASED DAILY. 2ND PARCEL SENT OUT VIA HERMES STANDARD THIS PARCEL GOT A 24HR DELAY THE VERY NEXT DAY WHICH CONTINUED TO SHOW FOR A FURTHER 4 DAYS EACH DAY TOLD TO WAIT A LITTLE LONGER! FINALLY HAD ENOUGH SAID I DONT WANT THE PARCEL GIVE ME A REFUND WHICH THEY THEN SAID I HAD TO WAIT 5 WORKING DAYS ..... IT TOOK THEM A FURTHER 2 DAYS TO PRESS THE REFUND BUTTON FOR BOTH PAIRS EVEN THOUGH 1 PAIR SHOULD OF BEEN REFUNDED A WHOLE WEEK BEFORE HAND!!! COMPLETELY MISSED MY SONS BIRTHDAY AND EVEN A WEEK AFTER HIS BIRTHDAY STILL NO TRAINERS OR REFUND!!!"

Missing product and missing customer service team

I took delivery of the above order Easter Monday


With the outside TT table should have been a free Accessories pack as stated in the details which is why bought the product from SD and not Amazon - mistake

This table was for my daughters birthday (BH monday) as i thought we would be able play once it was delivered.


Unfortunately as the accessories pack was not included within the delivery i then had to drive to our local sport direct , which is in the n3xt town (Morecambe) where i spoke to the manager, Nicky , who despite being very courteous was unable to supply the kit.

So , no balls , bats or cover.


I then had to go to more expense to buy what should have been included in the kit so my daughter could play with her present on her birthday.

Clearly I am not happy that the kit was missing as this should have been checked before despatched.

I rang the HO Number , option 2 but I believe the office is closed on bank holidays.?

I then rang numerous times on Tuesday - auto message saying email customer service as no one to take the call - every time.

I emailed customer service on Tuesday - no response as i write this today ( Friday )
I tried the customer service number again thursday and today, friday , same auto message.

Sent another email - thursday - no response.

Unbelievably i then get a ' how did we do ' email to review the service !!!

I will go back to the local SD store ( in the next town ) again tomorrow ( more expense - 2nd trip plus bats and balls I purchased ) ...and to speak to the manager who hopefully can do what I have failed to do which is get SOMEONE in ' customer service ' to pick up the phone.

I would have rated this review zero stars had there been an option .

Perhaps Mike Ashley can now stop throwing his money at Debenhams ( as his deal has gone pear shaped ) and recruit someone to answer the phone /e mails in customer service.

Not shop to browse in clothes hung so high u cant look

"Clothes where hung up high so couldn't browse selected an item got to the till and was card only in the end put item back and bought something silimair but much nicer from next won't ever go in there again dreadful shop long ques staff miserable "

Terrible customer service. Stay clear.

"I made a purchase of three items on SportsDirect.Com. I had purchased some items previously and the items didn't fit my daughter so I returned and as predicted they only give credit notes... anyway I used the credit note to purchase items that would work for her which did, however a balance was left hence my other purchase.
I made the purchase in March early 20's.

On Friday the 29th I recieved an email and text messages that the items were gonna be delivered. I wasted a whole day waiting in. At about 10am or a bit before I saw a lady with a parcel in her hand looking unsure of where she was going... I ran outside to inquire if the parcel belongs to me. She answered and said it was for a another number in the same address..... a gut feeling kept telling me it was my parcel... when she seemed as if she couldn't get in I was about to offer to take it when she said I couldn't sign for it if the persons weren't home.

I looked up at the balcony to the sound of a thief telling her to press the buzzer again. She went up to him and gave away my parcel. As my luck would have it... literally moments later I saw him packing his possessions and moved away with my belongings... (clearly he knew he was leaving so he saw no problems moving with things that did not belong to him)

I had no knowledge except the gut feeling until hours passed and I'm wondering why have they sent messages and emails so early yet my parcel is yet to come. As soon as I went on my phone to check the message for the tracking info I saw a message that said something to the effect of enjoy your package!!!!!! Enjoy what package?!!!! The ones Hermes your courier gave away!!!!! It was only £34.99 but it's my money.

It was a nightmare figuring how to contact Hermes in the state of my panic when I realised what had really happened. When I finally did that same Friday on their online chat they said they'd get back to me within 28hrs. I went away on holiday the Sunday (I wanted those items to take with me) when I checked my emails either the Monday or Tuesday they responded apologising that their courier acted out of their code of conduct on this occasion, they then instructed me contact the supplier and let them know what happened so they can contact them. I did so... The email address I made the purchase from was different from the one I sent the complaint to Sports Direct customer service. They stated that they couldn't find the order as a result of that. I responded and sent an email with the order number, my name and address and they have not contacted me since and that's about three or four days ago. I'm not going to let it go as I did nothing wrong except made a purchase... I even have the courier on my surveillance camera not handing me the parcel so why the hell am I out of pocket... I need my money or the items I purchased!

"I used to shop sports direct but not now as because I got serious bad experience even managers are so rubbish including customer service .
I recommend others not to shop there rather than go other places .

DO NOT buy from this store.

"I recently purchased a pair of track suit trousers from my local store, the same size as I wear all the time, however these were a different make to the one I normally purchase from there.
These new one clearly were labelled with they wrong size as when I got home and tried them on, they are much smaller than my usual ones, when I took them back, the store did not have a larger size so I could not exchange them. I asked for my money back, the store refused and claimed that I had no legal right to a refund. This contravenes my statutory rights as a consumer.
Clearly everyone who works at the store from the owner, Mike Ashley to the shop staff are crooks.
I have been a regular customer at my local store - I will now NEVER shop there again.

Avoid

"Received shoes size was to big, paid 5 pounds for delivery and when i took that product back to store and asked for exchange for smaller size I have been informed that as I ordered online I do have to pay for postage to send it back again. Which I did however they didnt send me correct size only refund money for shoes as they claim that product is unavailable in that size. However if you going online you can clearly see that it's available in required size.I already paid £10 for deliver product which I don't have it.
Something should be done with their unlawful customer service which is very rude when you deal with them.

AVOID and take your custom elsewhere

"I placed an online order for 2 items and used a gift voucher to pay for them. An hour later I received an email saying that the order for one of the items was cancelled as they were out of stock.
I went back online and chose an alternative, but when I tried to pay using the gift voucher, it said there was no balance on the voucher.
Bad enough that I would have to pay 2 lots of postage due to their incompetant stock control, but the order has not yet been processed and they have taken my money for something they dont even have in stock.
Their customer service is useless, I tried to phone but the recorded message refers you to the website. I sent an email and received an automated message saying they will get back to me in 3 days - or maybe longer!!
I will never buy from this company again.

Horrific customer service

Worst customer service I've ever come across! Bought a pair of trainers in the Manchester Arndale store when I got home and opened the box one of the trainers was in a uses condition and the stitching was coming away on the trainers too. I took it back the next day and the staff behaviour was appalling as none of them had any customer service skills or attitude, first of all they refused to accept it was there fault then refused to refund even though it was there mistake. Eventually after telling them that I will be contacting the financial ombudsmen the refunded the money but with a very bad attitude and this was a store manager! Obviously the staff hired by sports direct don't need any education or manners to get the job.

Missold a used item

"I ordered a Mizuno JPX 900 Hybrid golf club from Sports Direct and expected to receive a new one as nothing on the page indicated otherwise.
Upon receipt of the Club I noticed that it had a 'demo club' sticker on it.
I was not aware I was purchasing a demo club, which is effectively a used item. due to this the club had the standard wear and tear of a used club on its face - with scratches clearly visible. The face also had lots of glue on it that I had to clean off.
The particular club I purchased is also adjustable. It should come with a key and instructions on how to adjust the loft of the club. This was missing from the delivery, therefore, a main feature of this club is basically unusable.
With most suppliers you also receive the manufacturers head cover with this club (even sites that are dedicated to used clubs send some sort of headcover if the original is missing). However, there was no headcover included in the delivery.
I will be sending this item back to Sports Direct as I was massively mislead and missold.
Any used club should be clearly labelled as such on a website - especially when items are missing.
I tried to resolve the situatuon with cistomer care. But customer care is almost none existent. There is no phone number to call. You can email but don't expect a quick response. They will respond in the middle of the night. Its appalling!

Absolutely shocking customer service. Avoid this store! I went in with a Sports Direct credit note. The checkout operator was clueless, did not know how to process it. Called the manager who also didnt know. She was just as useless. Told me to come back later. I argued that i was trying to complete a £200 transaction. They shrugged their shoulders. Tbe blonde foriegn one just kept saying that she was doing everything possible and i had two years to use the credit note.

Rude Romford Store manager

"Bought a voucher at the Romford store and realised it was from the wrong store so went straight back to get a refund. Till operator couldn't help so I asked for the manager. Probably the rudest person I’ve ever met. Had no interest in what we had to say and started getting aggressive. Initially refused but then when statutory rights were brought into the conversation he reluctantly asked a member of staff to give the refund. Left the store quite shocked tbh. I’m sure the guy is used to being aggressive towards staff but how can you treat customers like that? I will never go back to that disgusting place in my life!!! "

Avoid Sports Direct online

"Ordered online and £4.95 for delivery probably the most expensive I’ve ever paid and that’s for collect in store. 4 days later had email ready for collection so not particularly quick, got home opened and 1 item not what I ordered (So there mistake). contacted buy email, reply next day can I send pictures so did clearly showing wrong item(not what I ordered). 3 days later email reply! send item back at my expense (again there mistake) not mine! so more money and time for customer, 3 weeks for refund once inspected by them(I sent photos) so why. So in summary if you use Sports Direct and order a cricket bat and 4or5 days later get a table tennis bat it’s up to you the (customer) to rectify there mistake (SD) will never use again AVOID!"

The worst experience as a customer I have ever received

"The worst experience as a customer I have ever received. Bought a pair of trainers in store which I then saw were £15 cheaper online. I stupidly thought that it would be a simple case of being credited back the difference, but oh no....
Called the store over a period of 3 hours and no answer, so i drove 11 miles to see the manager. I was then told that I could not be refunded the £15 unless I had seen this before purchasing in store as they then would have priced matched the trainers! I thought this seemed very unfair so asked what I could do....I then spent 2 hours stood in the store whilst trying to get through to the their customer service centre...33 attempts and then 32 minutes in a que until I got to speak to someone who said it was at the discretion of the manager to make the refund! Hope I thought, but nope, manager was terrified of being sacked if they gave me a refund so this left me no where. I then emailed customer service as I really felt this not right for either me as a customer, or for the manager! No reply and no call back even when this was requested. Then to add insult to injury, the customer service number is chargeable and the bloody awful experience cost me £35 with my network provider!!!! Another visit to the store and zero help. Would not give me the area managers details due to ‘data protection’ and when I said that I’ll leave my details, I was told that they couldn’t promise that I’d hear anything....they were right! Zero response from anyone and I shall never darken their doors again! At least O2 had the decency to refund me half of the charges I incurred as they couldn’t believe what I’d gone through!

"Went to the Huddersfield Leeds road store with a disabled pensioner to return some shoes. The manager was disrespectful and childish and obviously has been programmed to fob people off. The staff of very young people thought it highly amusing that anyone should complain. Their attitude was obviously couldn’t care less about the customer "
