"We bought discounted Halloween decorations, never received them and they have argued with me regarding the items, they do not want to refund and if they do it’s only 20% . It’s a ripoff. DO NOT order from Spirit Halloween. It has been extremely difficult to deal with them. I wouldn’t be contacting the company if I actually received my items.
They have a really poor delivery and no tracking where they deliver to or even if really delivered.

purchase at your own risk

"after placing my order on 09-24-23, i read on the website i placed this order on, ships within 3 business days..i receive the item 19 days later, now with this being too late, i choose to make a return and i am expected to pay the shipping fee for the mistake and misleading this establishment caused. so now i am paying for it to be shipped to me and returned, I had also tried calling to speak to someone about this matter and was told, there would be a 2-3 hour wait time to speak to someone. There is something very shady about this place, and i would not recommend doing any purchase from them. ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK."

BEWARE ONLINE ORDERS

"BEWARE online orders! Ordered a costume for my son, came in a crappy bag and was broke, ordered a size medium and they sent an Exta-large. Online it states you can exchange in store. Went to the store to exchange it, and there is a current price difference between online and instore. I was told I could exchange in store but only if I paid the difference. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!"

Bad Customer Service and Policies

"It is so easy to take other people's money with zero accountability for this company. Bought from store on Brook Rd, in Glen Allen, a strobe light of theirs two days before Halloween. Attempted to use item on Halloween night and found out that it was defective. Took the light back to the store the very next day to get refund or credit and we were told that their exchange deadline was actually a few days before Halloween and they couldn't take their own bad product back. Ridiculous! They sell defective items and hide behind unfair policies to avoid responsibility. I will never buy anything from them again."

HORRIBLE GUEST SERVICE - Spirit Halloween lost a good customer

"I bought this Posable Dummy Prop 6 years ago and only used it twice. As I pulled it out of the box to use this year, the fabric disintegrated in my hands and the head came out of its torso. NOT THE LOOK I WAS GOING FOR! The material used to construct the dummy is obviously faulty so I figured Spirit would certainly replace it, especially since it is still being sold in their stores. I WAS WRONG. They would not even consider replacement because I had purchased it so long ago. This is a simple low-cost item that they could have easily replaced, instead of doing the right thing they ignored the poor quality of their product and lost a good customer. I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH SPIRIT HALLOWEEN ANYMORE. "

THIEVES

"I ordered a child costume in October 2021, they sent me an adult size costume. I contacted Spirit and they said return it for a refund. I immediately returned the costume unopened and they received it. I keep getting ridiculous answers like " I will pass this on to my supervisor" after I was already told my refund was processing. Still no refund. Nothing but a bunch of thieves and I will make sure to tell everyone I possibly can that my money was stolen! THIEVES!"

Badly managed and unclean

"As a former employee customers need to know that no cleaning or sanitizing happens in this store. Not even in the bathroom or employee work areas. This worries me as with the covid and delta variant out there. I feel we have a responsibility to keep customers and employees safe. I would hate to see anyone get sick be of this. In spite of employees begging the DM Nathan Porter and manager Sarah to fix the issues. The company refuses to do anything. Then there's the issue of Sarah's temper even becoming violent and screaming in the face of employees. Yet it was unprovoked and unnecessary. Management refuses to address this also. We are constantly having costumes returned as pieces are missing from the bags."

NO Response from Customer Service via email do not see Live Chat

"I placed an order on 9/27/20, it is now 10/07/20 - I received email confirmations for my order, even received Shipping Confirmation with tracking # on 09/28. I ordered the Nightcrawler as it was not available in my local store, so I took a chance and ordered it online. Well everyday I have checked the tracking # per FED EX, who **** anyways, it only states that the label was created.
on 10/05/20 I tried calling the 800 # but the hold time was insane & went to the page to look for the live chat tab that they state is at the top of the page, well I must be blind, because I do not see it. So I sent an email and got an automated response stating that my email was received and a representative will reply soon. Well here is is 2 days later and nothing. I am getting really **** here.
No where does it state on the page that this item is not in stock. I want to know what the hold up is, and why I have not received my item yet. I have tried calling but the phone lines are not open. I will keep trying to call. But this is ridiculous.
I love Spirit Halloween and usually make all my purchases in the store. I have had items from them for years. I know one thing, I will never ever purchase anything from them on-line anymore because you can't even get assistance or a damn response.

"ever sense 2014 i've been buying items from spirit halloween there has not been any issues with a single item, the products(costumes, props, ect.) they have all been in quality shape my only complaint is the packaging, very few times i've had a dented box but besides all that i recommend shopping for your halloween items at this store, prices are great and very worth and the customer service is also very good."

"Online store has misleading freight charge calculator. Shows up as $4.99 (based on items in cart) but at point of paying it shows up as $10.49. I contacted CS ant it IS actually Spencer Gifts who told me I was wrong in reading the freight charge of $4.99 but after telling the CS person exactly what the web page said she confessed that the webpage was wrong. She instructed me to place the order and assured me I would be credited the difference after a short e-mail. Well it's been 2 weeks and no credit. After another phone call she said she put the credit through "but it didn't take". She would try again and it should show up in 48 to 72 hrs. I informed her that the freight calculation on the site is still showing $4.99 and she again said that it without weight factored in but I AGAIN said it says "freight charge is based on what is in your cart" then she said Oh...they are working on that. Very misleading practice when it comes to actual freight charges then not very truthful regarding credits/refunds."

"I bought a fog machine at spirit Halloween, two weeks before halloween for a setting I was doing halloween night. come Halloween night the machine never worked. Of course I misplaced My receipt I wrote customer service They said to bad no sad Can't exchange it for another one without receipt. Thou it clearly shows there name on the box. So not only did they wreck my setting Halloween night now am stuck with a $60 machine that don't work. Very poor customer service and the stuff they sell is Junk. Your better off going to local party store that is open year around with better customer service "

"I bought a eaten alive Halloween prop from this store on 11/1/2014 during there big 50% off sale. They all where used displays from years ago, put back in there box so you buy there cheap broken trash. I mean a used Halloween prop? Really. The packaging on these have no twist ties or anything I am thinking it is so you can't tell a store display from a new in box one when you open the box to peek in before you get it. I went to a different Spirit Halloween also and every single one of there props where old and used store displays. Like they where saved in a warehouse then brought to a store to be sold at full price once they have enough items. The workers are the worst. I asked them if they had a prop instock and had no clue what it was. The lady then said "you mean the one with crazy hair." They all have crazy hair. Also when I bought eaten alive some lady left out of line to get something and the worker put my prop by hers thinking she was my mom and because I am 13 I can not afford or care of such a thing. Please, never buy from here. If anyone from Spirit Halloween reads this, do better. This is talking about in store only, about online they once charged me so much for shipping for a small item. They used a huge box for something so small. What a waste."

"Trick or Treat? I placed an order on 9/13/14. Both items were "In Stock" when I placed the order. Both had an estimated delivery date of 9/22. I received email notification from them on 9/18 that the cockroaches shipped but the jacked up jill decoration (the main item I ordered) had not shipped yet. When I received the cockroaches, the invoice in the box showed the jacked up jill was on "back order." On 10/15 I received email notification that my order was not cancelled my order would ship out after the item I selected was processed and I would receive an updated email in 48 hours. The next update came on 11/4 stating the item was no longer availalbe and was cancelled. I guess I got the TRICK. If you actually want what you order, don't buy it from Spirit of Halloween."
