I feel completely scammed

" I ordered a battery on Rural King's website and waited for the tracking information for about two weeks without receiving it. Then, I called their customer service and they told me that the item was not in stock at the warehouse and they had asked another warehouse to fill the order, but apparently they never did so. I was told my item would ship the next day. Soon after I did recieve... SOMETHING, it was a battery, but not at all the one I ordered. It was a different size and had the wrong terminals. I checked my order history to make sure I ordered the right battery, and I had, I was simply shipped the wrong item. Not only that, the way it was shipped was hilarious. It arrived in a huge motor oil box (a box for at least 4-6, five quart motor oil jugs) with absolutely no packing material inside. I called them the next day and told them what had happened and I was told someone would contact me shortly. Nobody did for a week, so I called back and was told something similar, but given the option of email instead of phone tag, so I soon received an email from their customer service department.

At this point about a month had passed since I initially ordered. I replied to their email with pictures of the wrong battery and never received a reply. I waited SEVERAL MORE WEEKS before I was forced to go through paypal to contact them. They said "thank you for sending pictures, that is helpful, someone will contact you soon" I waited for them to contact me until the time limit was about to expire to make it into a paypal claim, then escalated it. it has now been SEVENTY FOUR DAYS since I ordered this battery.

Paypal has decided that I have to pay return shipping on a 40lb battery that I didn't order, which essentially makes it pointless to return. Amazing. I feel like they knew this would happen and that I would end up being stuck with this battery anyway. Do NOT order from these people. Their batteries are factory seconds anyway. Spend the extra $70 and get the name brand at a local place and avoid this headache.

Held Order Without Notifying Customer

"I needed an herbicide for a time sensitive use. I ordered online, no problem. I received the email confirmation. I checked their estimated delivery times (only business days apply) and I waited like a good patient customer..... that time lapsed. I emailed them for shipping status. I received a reply that there was an issue with the "order" not the shipping and to call them. They never processed the order. They claim it was held for fraud prevention, if there had been fraud and they did not contact the account holder in that length of time they are still wrong. He said I would have to be referred to their fraud prevention desk, I asked "can this be resolved today." "Unfortunately not" so I cancelled the order. Very dissatisfied with the lack of service, notice, and concern. Rural King is a corporate machine where no one seems to care...at all. This could have been avoided through email notices and proactive phone contact. I wish I had checked online for reviews before attempting business with them. Avoid at all costs, literally. You pay in the end with lost time and frustration."

Terrible Shipping, Service and Ads that are not reliable

"Ordered a patio heater which was in stock with a 2 day delivery on 1/18/18, guess what? its 2/6/18 and nothing. Sent an email on 1/27/18, which was replied to and was told it was out of stock & had to be shipped from a secondary warehouse & they would have that done ASAP & then get back to me...(the online advertisement NEVER said "out of stock"...well, it's now 2/6/18 & I finally had to give them a call. Megan, was the customer service woman/girl I got and when I tried to explain what was going on she cut me off, not nice! Oh, its shipping out on Friday bla bla bla. I needed it for a party, little late people!!! Thanks a lot - last time I do business with you folks, family owed, really ? You'd better start paying attention then! What a huge disappointment!!! I would have rather paid more than go through this debacle!"

They FINALLY sent the rest of my order

"I ordered online from Rural King at the beginning of December anticipating the things I bought would be Christmas presents. When my order arrived only half of it was in the box, even though the packing slip said everything was there. I reached out to customer support via email and never received an answer. A week later I sent an email to the VP of Customer Support (there was a paper that came with my order explaining to reach out to him if I had any issues with customer support) and never heard back from him either. At this point, Christmas was well over. I reached out again to support after the holidays asking for an update and again, no response. About a week and a half ago I received a notification that my order had shipped. I finally got the rest of my order, but it took two months and the support was non-existent. I will NEVER buy from Rural King again, and I would NOT recommend them. Giving them the second star for actually getting my order to me and making that part right."

Never did receive my order!

"I ordered a number of items for Christmas 2017 , Christmas came and no items, I tried to retrieve my items or set up a return but its actually impossible to get help on the phone. First call I waited 67 minutes to talk to a rep and was told it would be sent to her supervisor ...nothing was credited back after 3 attemps and hours of waiting on the phone and no returned emails I literally decided to give up and just advise the public to be ware of this company! "

NO STORE RETURN!

"I only order online if I know there is a local store (if I need to return it). I refuse to pay postage to return an item. I found out that I could not return the item to my store only after I tried to return. If that is your policy, then it should come with a warning: Cannot be returned to store. If it is on your page, it's not large enough to be seen without reading the fine print. It should be clearly stated before you take one's money. I won't be ordering anything online from RuralKing again."

Disappointed and frustrated

"On 1/7/18 I placed an order online for 4 items for my son's birthday coming up. When I received the order on 1/12/18 I was missing 2 of the items. So I emailed customer service right away and told them. I asked them to look into why I didn't receive everything. On the packing slip it showed all items were shipped. Who packs up an order and just leaves half of it out of the box? Did they think I wouldn't notice? I never received a reply. There was a letter from the vice president in the box saying thanks for the order and if there's any issues to email him directly so on 1/22/18 I emailed him and I never got a reply. So on 1/25/18 I called in. After being on hold for 20 minutes I was told they are probably out of stock on the items and they'll just cancel them. I was also told my email didn't go to the vice president but to the supervisor. She also told me they don't check their emails because their call volume is too large and don't have time. Well for us with small kids it's easier to email and not sit on hold for 20 minutes. So she said she would email the internet stock people to check stock on the 2 items and email me back. So a few hours later I received a generic email saying they are out of stock on the 1 item and it will be cancelled from my order. So I emailed back about my other item and still haven't received a response. Also there has not been a refund put on my credit card. To say I'm disappointed and frustrated would be an understatement. Pretty sure I will never order from there again."

Will not honor price

"Check BBB, they have an f because of the same complaint I have. I ordered a battery after three weeks called to check on it received email back that they couldn't fill the order. Checked web site item available but they price had been marked up 70$. So they published a price couldnt honor it now I'm waiting on refund. "

Worst Service Ever!!!

"My experience is very reflective of the other reviews on here. Placed an order, 14 days pass and no word that it had shipped. 49 minutes on hold for them to talk me it needed to transfer to different warehouse but had not been transferred. Told it would be transferred and shipped next day.... 3 day later and another 30 minutes on hold was told it still had not transferred. Told them to cancel and I bought the product somewhere else. A week or so later I see that RK had charged my CC for the product. Another 20 minutes on hold and was told , well the girl who I spoke to had not put in the cancellation and had now quit and the product had been transferred to the manufacturer and was on its way! I told them I did not want but they said it already shipped and I would have to send it back!
NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Just Awful!

"I ordered a portable heater on 1-5-18; contacted the company on 1-11-18 to inquire about status; received yesterday. Heater was sent in only the shipping box, no instructions; warranty information. Product appeared to have been used because, there are numerous scratches on the unit and remote control. Won't consider Rural King in purchase decisions going forward!"

Zero Customer Service; missing items

"I submitted my review through Ruralking.com and just received notice by email that they have censored it and will not post it!!! So... here's what I wrote: I bought this over a month ago and still haven't received it. It was part of a 3 item order. Inside the first box, which came rather quickly, there was 1 of the 3 items Rural King included on the packing slip and invoice. I immediately called and held the phone for over an hour, never got through. I sent in 3 emails and after a week, never heard back, so I reported to my credit card company, who is disputing the charge for me. I still haven't heard from them, though I keep getting requests to review their items. I eventually received the 2nd item in a separate box. Never this one. No response from company. Will be sticking to Amazon or Walmart.com from now on..."
