"I'm surprised to see all of the negative reviews for this company. I have ordered from QBitPC 6 or 7 times in the last year and had no problems at all. I always receive confirmation email messages, and have found QBitPC to have the fastest shipments of any company I've ever ordered from. One time I had to return a DVD-ROM drive (manufacturer defect), after a couple of weeks I emailed them asking where my replacement was, and the company replied that it had to be returned to the manufacturer, and to expect a replacement in another two weeks. And in a couple of weeks it did arrive. I've always had the best results with this company, but after viewing all of the negative comments lately, I might consider my options next time."
"RUN!
Dont ever give these people your credit number.
I purchased a motherboard and cpu, both did not work. After a month I mannaged to get my "store credit" minus 25% or something ridiculous.
I re-ordered the cpu, the second one worked. Then I spent the remainder on some other product. They only sent part of the order, which was paid in full, then they CHARGED ME again for the product they didn't send me."
"failed to notify me when they didnt have it in stock. paid for three day select shipping on thursday. told i would have it by wednesday. called wednesday told it was comming thursday. called thursday and told friday.
asked for ups red label sat delivery (due to thier fault for not notifying me it was backordered) when i asked for the delivery they refused to give me thier occupational license number (which is a felony by not devulging that information)
contacted federal trade commission and they are going to investigate. still have not gotted my refund i have asked for."
"Wow, I didn't know they had such bad business practices. I ordered an MSI Tv@nywhere TV tuner from them on 8/21 and had my order cancelled. Unlike some of the people writing here, I did get an e-mail from Shawn Cronk stating they no longer carry the product and that my order was cancelled. I asked why they no longer carried the product and he said they ordered it 2 months ago and never got it and meant to take it off their site. I'm a little irked about that because I lost a whole day because no one else would ship that same day. But that's really no big deal. On a side note I was going to order a $210 video card from here but when I seen that $10 vid card insurance I decided to go somewhere else to purchase it. Having that offered as soon as I added the card to my cart made me think that I would probly get shafted with a DOA card. No thank you. My suggestion to everyone is find another place that'll let you return DOA stuff without the hassle.
Edit: You have to at least give them credit for asking folks to rate them here at Reseller Ratings when they send them the order conformation e-mail. "
"This company blows...... I ordered a new CPU and Power supply on the 11th of July. After two weeks I called and found that they had not shipped my order because the power supply they advertised was not in. No one called to let me know what was going on or e-mailed. I asked them to ship the cpu which they did. I am still over a month later trying to get my refund for the power supply they never got in and I purchased locally instead.
Today when I called I was hung up on when I asked for the name of who I was speaking to.... they promised my refund would be in my bank in 20 minutes. I find the claim to be less then credulous.
It is now a few days later (3) I was promised a credit of $79.00 on 8-20-2 more then 5 weeks after the product had been ordered. On 8-22-2 a DEBIT of $79.00 posted.
My bank is charging it back as well as the other 79.00 from the original purchase. I strongly suggest everyone having issues with them speak to the fraud dept at their bank.
I am considering callig the police in the city they are doing business and asking for an investigation.

"Purchased two video cards from them on 8-9, called back on 9th to verify that they had stock and would ship they said in stock and would ship that day, called back on 15 to see where they were at to be told that the cards were back ordered and my sale was cancelled(on the 10th), they charged my account on the 12th and as of the 19th still refused to reverse the charge, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM THEY ARE RIPOFF's I had to notify my bank's fraud dept to get them involved. STAY AWAY!!!!!"
"The QbitPC site listed two similar motherboards at different prices. I had read reviews on both of them and was very clear about which one I wanted. I ordered the less expensive one with fewer features. The sales invoice they sent me showed the correct price for the board I ordered. I didn't notice that the 13 digit item number was for the other board (one digit different). When the wrong board arrived they let me return it, but they said it was not their fault and charged me a 20% restocking fee. Oddly, the credit they gave me before deducting the restocking fee was the price of the more expensive board that I returned. They say they will send me the right board next week. If that happens I am "only" out about $50. and a month of my time."
" Worst online experience so far. I signed up with resellerratings and logged in to write this review as I sat on hold with qbitpc.com.
I've been shopping for computer parts online for the last 6 years. With about 9 online orders of computer parts in the last 6 months from 9 different eTailers I found on pricewatch, I'm stunned at how lousy my experience with qbitpc.com continues to be.
Faced with an immediate necessity to move gigabtyes I ordered a 120GB HD from qbitpc.com on 7/29, and even went in on the slightly steep $15.47 3-day ship. It was only once I had received the order confirmation eMail that I saw the "Your order will ship within 3 Business Days" pledge, pushing delivery of my order from Wednesday of the week I needed it to Monday of the week after.
That smarted, but I can take my knocks. Imagine my disbelief when dialed up qbitpc.com a few days later to find no website. I phoned up and was informed by a message that the company was shut down from August 1st to the 9th for inventory and restructuring. No fair warning about the shutdown anywhere on the site prior to the website until 8/2. Not to mention it being what I consider a lame excuse for not following up on the already deceptive promise in my order confirmation to ship in 3 days.
In another 2 days the website came back up. On it was a message promising that online orders would continue to be taken and filled during the downtime. Again I held some hope that I could get my drive in reasonable time to transfer my files. As it turns out the promise was again hollow, my order's status on the site continued to show that it was not shipped. On the Wednesday that my drive should have arrived (3 days after I should have gotten my $15 3-day ship) I wrote an eMail demanding they ship the drive immediately or give me my money back. I recieved a 1 line eMail the next day:
"ETA to ship is 8/12"
I called today, 8/12 because of course the website order status page reflected no ship. After many minutes on hold I gave my order #, and held a little longer. He came back with a big shrug. "Hmm, yeah, I dunno why that hasn't shipped already." I asked if it was too late to ship today, he promised that it wasn't too late and that it was shipping as we spoke.
I ordered a hard drive for 3 day ship on 7/29. I now expect to receive it on 8/15. I would not have ordered from qbitpc.com if I knew that they were shutting down a few days later. I'll never order from qbitpc again, and I hope you haven't and won't either. As resellerratings.com can show, there are plenty of better places to order computer parts from."
"Purchased a large order to build a computer from QBit. I called 2 days later and they had most everything in stock. I went over and picked up what i could. There was no e-mail or phone call to tell me that stuff was not instock, unlike what they posted on their site. My video card was defective so i was able to return it, and get a new one as soon as they got one in stock (i initially paid the $10 replacement warranty. Had others i've seen write here done the same, their problems could hae been avoided.). They were all very happy to help and always answered my phone calls. I highly recomend this seller as they have low prices; however, you do need to do work to make sure that everything is done correctly."
"Purchased a motherboard and when it arrived the parts bag was open and several cables and other parts where missing. After talking to them on the phone they said they would pay for return shipping and ship a new one out immediately. Now there web site is down and they are "Closed for inventory and restructuring" from August 1 thru August 9. I can not even cancel my order.
A replacement motherboard was shipped and the new motherboard bag was opened and the serial numbers do not match the box.
Avoid at all cost."
"I ordered a hard drive from these people, and now cannot contact this company. Their website is down, they will not answer their phones, and the recording says that they are "Closed for inventory and restructuring" from August 1 thru August 9. Pity they didnt think of that before they charged my Mastercard. I've already contacted my card issuer and started the process to dispute the order. Remember, when ordering online, dont use a Debit Card, only a real Credit Card.. you have much more protection from this kind of fraud that way. I did look up at the Maryland BBB and found the name of the "owner".
His name is Scott Cronk. only one Scott Cronk listed on Switchboard.com, and he's in Annapolis, just like Qbit.
I plan to give him a call to tell him what i think of his business practices.
Scott Cronk: ***-***-****
I'm just glad i was able to stop this before it got too far. Maybe i'll find a decent company to get my hardware from.

"I ordered a motherboard from them on july 26. i go to the main website in a few days to see if the order had shipped. it only showed that the order was processed. so i check a few days later and still no tracking number. a week goes by and still no tracking info or information that the package has shipped. so i call up the company and find out that they sold out of that specific motherboard and they would be getting more in soon. i didnt recieve any emails telling me this nor did i recieve a phone call or posted on the website when ordering the item. it seems to me that the company didnt want to lose the sale so thats y i wasnt informed of the motherboard not being in stock I strongly do not recommend buying anything from this company. they dont notify cousomers of items out of stock so they can sell you some part when they do come in. "
"Im Still Waiting For My Components...

"Website is gone down, telephones are on record mode (no messages accepted),email attempt got kicked back by sysAdmin. They gave customers no advance info on plan to close for "inventory August 2nd-9th.Now we cant even cancel our purchases with the website or email.Just poor communication? For protection sake I'm calling my credt card compay asap."
"ANYONE WHO'S HAD PROBLEMS:
Their Online Merchant account is with NPC Merchant Svcs.

UPDATE (11/11) - Does the amount of time this ordeal has eaten of my life count for anything?
Their words to my Credit Card: "Customer needs to send back products to us since he does not want to send them to manufacturer"
(After they've rejected my shipment twice and tricked USPS to return the third shipment.
UPDATE AGAIN (9/9): After telling me to ship it back to them (2nd TIME) with same RMA #, THEY OPENED THE BOX, PUT MY RETURN ADDRESS ON THE BOX AND LABELED IT RETURN TO SENDER!
UPDATE: sent back every item for refund. two weeks later they sent me everything back???? I called and talked to Shawn (owner) he tells me I have to get another RMA - go to the site to get another RMA, it won't let me cause I'd already gotten one RMA. Just ordering from them cost me 20$ in shipping costs, incalcuable frustration and the possibility that I won't win contesting their charges.
---
bought CPU, motherboard and memory. motherboard was defective. they would only ship back to MSI (6+ weeks) or return for other item (20% restocking fee + 35$ bench fee to test it) - I decided to return everything and get my money back."
