"Another questionable vendor gone under. Website gone, and toll-free number is a recorded message for a long distance company."
"I havent dealt with these guys in a while, i used to get all my stuff from them, but the past months they have been horrible, I even had a good relationship with the owner Shawn as he let me in his warehouse to handpick stuff, but it seems to me the company probably went under. I wish he let me work on his staff as he probably still be in business and have a higher reseller rating as i told him back in january 03."
"I dealt with QbitPC on NUMEROUS occasions and I'd always had very good luck with them. Items were in stock and shipped promptly That was until I ordered some motherboards on May 21, 2003.
Days later (when they didn't arrive) I was told it was backordered. A week later (after promised date) it was still not available and I could NOT contact QbitPC (same problems as others described). I finally received a cryptic email reply to one of my messages -- from the company president -- that said this:
caNCELED
Since I had managed to reach a real person I replied with a question about what was going on. I received this reply:
One of our guys died last week and were taking a break. Sorry we screwed up
this order with you I hope you understand.
So, they cancelled my order at my request but still have not refunded my credit card. Now, they appear to have vanished altogether, as their web site no longer appears to function.
I don't know what went wrong. They were very reliable for a long time."
"STAY AWAY from these people....they double billed my order, their phone system says that the mailboxes are "full" and can't accept any more messages (I have called every day for over 2 weeks). I have sent emails that have never been replied to. Very very bad customer service. I was able to once leave a message with the accounting department, but now it is full also...then the system tells you "exiting system" and hangs up. Their web site shows 2 orders with the same invoice number, same order number, and that one has been paid....if they wanted to charge me for 2 orders...then they should send the other order."
"BUYER'S BEWARE:
Oh, how I wished I had seen their ratings here before I was suckered.
On Thursday, May 29, 2003, I ordered an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro (retail)[$169], a Thermaltake Xaser II A5000A Plus case (w/ lg window kit)[$99] and a Microsoft Internet Keyboard PS/2 [18]. No email confirmation sent.
On May 30, 2003, they charged my Visa $286.01. I checked the "order tracking" at qbitpc.com, and it showed my order number, date, amount, that I was fully paid, and said "click here for status". Clicking there took me to a page with even less info, and on that page the "CLICK HERE FOR INFO" wasn't clickable. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited until Monday.
On Monday morning, June 2, I sent an email inquiring about my order. I didn't receive a reply until almost 8pm Tuesday night. Here was the ENTIRE reply:
"order canceled , no stock
sorry"
Yesterday, June 4, I exchanged a number of emails attempting to clarify the situation and learned that although they had charged my Visa, they were out of the case and video card. However, up until after the last email I sent them yesterday, both were listed on their site as available for purchase. To their credit, they've since corrected the site.
Every attempt to call them, at either toll-free number or their Annapolis, MD number results in no one answering and full voicemails for all but accounting. Left a message today and didn't hear back. Their last email yesterday was:
"your order has been canceled and we will not be offering those products anymore. they were on liquidaton and we ran out. sorry"
It's June 5, and I'm still waiting for them to credit my card. Hopefully I won't have to resort to more drastic means to get the money they took from me."
"No confirmation e-mail upon order placement.
No confirmation e-mail upon shipment.
No tracking information available on website.
Order status page on website is not up to date.
No one anwswers the phone.
Every single voicemail box is full.
DON'T order from them!"
"***AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!******AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!******AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!******AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!******AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!******AVOID THESE CROOKS!!!!***
I ordered $1902.03 worth of items on 2/24/03 at which time my credit card was charged. 3 days later the items still had not been shipped so I contacted them and they said it had been delayed until the end of the week. The week went by and still no shipment. I contacted them again and they said another week so I asked them to cancel the order and refund my credit card. It has been OVER 90 days now and I have not received a refund or ANY of the products I ordered.

"I ordered an AMD XP 2600+ 266FSB Retail and asked the salesman to make sure it was the 266 FSB version. He stated it was indeed the 266FSB version. They sent me the 333FSB version, but the invoice stated it was the 266FSB version by virtue of the true speed indicated (2.133Ghz=266FSB vs. 2.083Ghz=333FSB). I called back to explain the situation and they offered to RMA it and refund my money, but would not pay for the return shipping, even though this was clearly their mistake. That it NOT acceptable."
"Found them on pricewatch, ordered a new motherboard (TigerMPX) online on sunday 3/31. They charged me the next day, and the board shipped two days later. I took slow ground shipping (only 1cent!) and it showed up fine 9 days after ordering. No problem so far!
My only beef with them is they make absolutly no effort in keeping you up to date on your order.
Their website has been down all week, so the online tracking us pointless. I had to call to get my tracking number, two emails when unreplied to."
"Great prices, no gouging on shipping, great service.
I ordered a motherboard and processor from them and despite an IT crash they still got my shipment out the same week I ordered it.
They have great prices and great service, but they aren't the fastest shop around. If you're not in a hurry and want a good deal, I highly recommend QBITPC.
"
"I had originally made an identical order with another company, but they failed come through. I found Qbit on pricewatch; I like their price and their website seemed pretty good so I gave them a go. I ordered a pair of processors and 10 days later they were on my door step (miraculously FedEx delivered them a day early). I put them in and they worked, simple as that. My only complaint would be that they don't send you any emails; not for your invoice, not for your shipping. This can all be found on their web page, but I would like to have a copy in my mail box."
"These guys are local to me so I went in to their store front. Not much of a store front, but it was nice. I stopped by yesterday and they did not have the motherboard (Abit NF7-S) I wanted. The guy told me they were getting a new shipment in the next day but he wasn't sure if they were the revision 1.1s or revision 1.2s that they would be getting in. Sure enough I stopped back the next day and they had a shipment of revision 1.2s. I chatted with them a bit about some stuff, then took my motherboard and went on my way. Nice bunch of guys, I'm definetely going back again."
"I am totally satisfied with this company. Ordered on Feb 19 afternoon, and shipped on Feb 20. Website update was a bit slow, but ok."
"Look at their ratting & AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I ordered an in-stock item on 1/24/03 at which time my credit card was charged. 3 days later the item still had not been shipped so I contacted them and they said it had been delayed until the end of the week. The week went by and still no shipment. I contacted them again and they said another week so I asked them to cancel the order and refund my credit card. It has been 23 days now and I have not received a refund or the product I ordered. "
"I was amazed the rating for this was so low. They have some good deals and I had no trouble contacting their RMA dept. when I thought I needed it. I thought that the motherboard I bought from them was dead but it turned out to be another part in the computer. They have some great deals and whenever I don't buy from NewEgg I will buy from them."
