Progressive ISTHE WORST. 17 years of experience with them to prove this.

"My Progressive car insurance policy of 17+ years was not renewed, and they said a letter came in the mail. I did not receive either letter, and I logged into my Progressive app today, the front home page says I am paid thru; no payment is needed now. No red alert saying my policy is expired.I called and the first lady (completely unsympathetic acting "I'm sorry you feel that way" type of unprofessional narcissistic customer service responses) said I had 3+ claims in 36 months. I stated that with Emerald status, I had large and small accident forgiveness for being a loyal customer for 17 years. But what is the point of ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS if you are going to kick someone to the curb? I finally got a person who explained to me (after calling 3x) that accident forgiveness is just a discount; it has NOTHING to do with actually forgiving you, and they still hold it against you and kick you to the curb. I am so confused. Then they said I can reapply in 18 months. I kinda laughed at that point and said, not only am I never going to come back to you, but I am also going to spend the rest of my life telling everyone that is looking to change to never ever ever go to Progressive. The fact that they broke up with me in a text (aka letter in the mail) and there was nothing in my app or alerts telling me this is astonishing. If I was able to upload images, I would share the home screen shot of my app to show how they failed to ever tell me I was being canceled or that I was.

Thank you Progressive!

"Long time policy holder on both my pickup and motorcycle. A couple of weeks ago I was involved in an accident with my motorcycle in which I was not at fault (thankfully I was not injured and the bike sustained no damage), and the agent from Progressive went above and beyond representing me to the other driver's insurance company, and let me know right away when the their insurance accepted responsibility for the accident. Progressive has great people who will stand behind you! "

Dysfunctional company do not recommend

"Purchased Progressive due to great rate. Well couple weeks in I was notified that the good rate would no longer apply if I did not show proof of prior insurance from another source. I did that. Then a month later was told I would be canceled as an inspection showed I have an ATV on the property. DUH I have the ATV insured through Progressive. NOW the day after the letter about the ATV on my property I received a refund check for cancellation with no explanation whatsoever. I did not even have the opportunity to respond in regards to the ATV insurance.I now have no homeowners or car insurance and have to leave early AM for out of town medical appointment. I do not recommend this company to anyone even if rate is competitive. If I could give zero stars I would."

I had a lot of problems with this insurance from the beginning, and I decided to change to another one so as not to continue with the headache, when I called them to let them know that I had found another better insurance that gave me better services and that they removed me from Progressive that It happened like in 2022 Today, March 26, 2024, I realize that they sent me the payment of $429 in collection, that is, to my Credit. How stupid they didn't even let me know anything in any letter. So be careful, they charge you heavily.

1 star is to high - Shady AF NEVER AGAIN

"I will never get progressive again nor would I ever recommend progressive insurance to anyone, regardless. When I first signed up I was told my full coverage rate would be 168 per month without snapshot BUT with snapshot my rate would be 133 so I signed up for snapshot. According to the ignorance of those who are in charge of snapshot my driving is rated a 1 out of 5 star now and my rate increased to $246 a month even though I have not been involved in any kind of accident nor have I had any tickets in the past 20yrs. I would have been better off not getting snapshot. As far as I'm concerned progressive participates in shady and borderline unethical practices especially when you consider I would receive emails regarding my snapshot BUT I never got any kind of email regarding my rate increase. And let's not forget my rate increase exceeded what I was initially quoted if I opted out of snapshot. Not only did it exceed the initial quote they gave me if I opted out but it exceeded it by $80+ dollars per month and it is over a $120 a month increase over what I was paying with the misleading snapshot "discount" and then ya gotta wonder why they do not send out rate increase notifications especially when they send out snapshot notifications??? Guaranteed it's because they are attempting to bank on the fact that some ppl may not notice the rate increase until progressive has siffened off money from their customers.

It is obvious to me that this company puts more emphasis on there misleading snapshot program then they do on an actual driving record. If you question them regarding it they go to "data, data, data" but the fact is nobody from progressive is actually in your auto experiencing the driving conditions. I should have just wrecked my vehicle and made them pay for it.

Progressive talks about safe driving well I guess in the end this company would rather see you run a red light putting individuals at risk rather than see you "hard break" or "accelerate" in order to not run a red light.

This is how poorly thought out and or shady progressive policies are. In order to submit this review they ask for an "invoice #" invoice numbers are related to purchases and change with each purchase. This companies leadership is either so ignorant they believe that invoice numbers and policy numbers are the same. The truth is the nature of an invoice number vs a policy number is completely different. An invoice # is a way to track purchases a policy # is a way to track a contract which does not change.

The only thing positive I could say about this company is that the customer service team members are notice however at the end of the day I'm not in the habit of doing business with shady a$$ companies because they have nice employees as I'm sure Bernie Madoff was also nice. And I can almost guarantee my review gets buried. No worries though as word of mouth tends to have the more desired effect then a review does

"I would give a zero, do not use progressive. They are a fraud. Messed up a car that hit me and put me at fault. You will get bad customers service and no help. Avoid at any cost. They will rip you off and won't care."

Going downhill fast.

"I've been with Progressive for almost 15 years. Up until the last couple years, they've been great. Suddenly my rate has been going up consistently and has since doubled in price. They assure me this is nothing I've done, but just the changing market. Disgusting price gouging is what it is. Their suggestion was to lower my coverage and pay for entire policies at once for a discount. Just switched to another provider for under half the cost for the exact same coverage. You'd think they actually care about loyal customers. "

Horrible service .

"After being put on hold for 30 minutes I wanted to add a new car to my policy for full coverage the lady I spoke with on March 20th Wednesday night was very rude said she could not tell me how much it would cost . I asked her if she could give me an idea at least of how much my monthly payments would be and she said I have no idea I can’t not tell you that . I asked to speak with someone else she said I was not aloud to and that everyone one else that works there will tell me they can not give me a price quote . So now I’m signed up for a policy on my car but I have no idea how much it’s going to cost me . I also asked for full coverage at least 5 times but she did listen to a word I said and only gave me liability . Very disappointed don’t recommend."

Agents don’t advocate for you

"I was in a car accident where I was hit from behind and it was still deemed my fault. I do not believe my insurance agent advocated for me at all. I have a difficult time speaking up for myself and try to be honest, he took advantage of that. As I was explaining my side, he made me feel crazy and kept tripping me up on small details, including my address. I had a more pleasant experience talking to the other person’s insurance. Directly following this accident, I got taken off the insurance. The agent had been so stuck on my address. I had recently graduated college in Philadelphia where I still have an apartment but I spend most of my time at my home address in New Jersey, just using my apartment for work. In my interview, he kept trying to trip me up on the address to determine I didn’t live in New Jersey so he could take me off the insurance. These agents do not care about you and are only looking to screw you over. I feel so humiliated after my experience with progressive. Go with any other insurance."

Increased my payment 3 months into my contract.

"Progressive just definitely lost a customer. They increased my premium $80 because they claimed they didn’t receive a picture if my odometer, even though they did. I spoke to 4 different people, and they only took $5 off the increase. **** poor customer service, I hope to never use this insurance again."
