Dont get into an accident with this insurance carrier

"My vehicle was in an accident with an individual that is insured by progressive. Since my vehicle was in perfect condition, I choose to use a body shop that is close to my home and that I trust. The progressive adjuster along with his management had to make four
insurance supplements to the initial quote and low balled every part that was needed to bring my car back to its original condition. This took close to two months to complete, in the mean time they paid for a rental car for me...so penny wise, dollar foolish on their part. Next part of the damage was the front unibody frame was bent and need straightening, progressive had the frame repair but refused to have the front end alignment checked. The front end wheel alignment is out...steering wheel is cocked. Today I received a call from the adjusters supervisor and he told me the front suspension is not connected to the frame of the vehicle, so a bent frame could not throw off the alignment...well that is not true! all of the suspension is connected to the unibody as the front cradle connects directly to the unibody. Anyway do not, I mean dont buy progressive insurance it may be cheap, but you will pay in the long run. If you live in New Jersey use NJM!!!

"I chose to replace my upcoming payment with a lower amount. What I could afford. And they still took the difference the next day!! I asked for. Refund of the 2nd draft and they said flat no. I read to them what the payment selection says. Quote “this will replace your upcoming payment “ and they said I misinterpreted "

Progressive does things without permission

"Progressive give some good services but no matter how long you been a member your insurance only gets higher and higher, good years of driving experience still gets higher, and they add people to your policy without permission or letting you know thaen want you to do their job for them just to remove them from your policy. How does that work? You added someone to someone policy because of relation and cant remove them without their information, NO ONE TOLD THEM TO ADD ANYONE, OR GIVEN PERMISSION......sounds shady and illegal right!?!? Good thing for notifications. "

Unwilling to work with customers

"I've have been a customer for years, but I'm always reminded why I don't like working with Progressive. I've always gone with progressive because of the price, but the service is always horrible, unexpected price hikes mid term, and impossible to get help from representatives. For these reasons I will be changing companies. "

Not a good experience at all

"More over, it is not even progressice, its a 3rd party that Progressive hires I guess, every time I try to contact someone inside PROGRESSIVE no one will talk to me there to I can tell them that the company they chose is not doing a good job, BUT nope, if you are trying to tell somone inside Progressive about that, they don't want to hear it, they will trasnfer you to a representative inside the THIRD party company - anyway, I am looking for another home insurance now.I do not recommend it ! "

Progressive is deplorable

"I do not feel like Progressive acted in the best interest of me or my 16 year old daughter. I have never been more disgusted and disappointed in an insurance company in my life. We pay over 700 per month for insurance. They make me pay for my 82 year old father in law who lives in Alaska, because they say he is living with us. We have submitted documentation 3 times proving that he has never lived with us, and they will not accept it because it is not a full document. My father is not comfortable giving them his private documents, so here we are paying $20 per month to insure someone who may visit once every few years.

Next, we just got found guilty for an accident that was not our fault. After making a complete stop, my daughter was pulling out on a red light. Her lane was completely clear, so she went and a woman came flying through the intersection changing lanes and hit my daughter's brand new truck The woman's car was going so fast that the impact caused her to fly off the road into a ditch. The police report and witnesses said exactly what happened, and although the police did not give a citation, they did put on the report that this lady made an improper lane change. Low and behold, after arbitration my daughter was found 100% liable because obviously Progressive didn't represent her properly. This is age discrimination and is not how Progressive advertised their practice. Because my daughter is 16, the blame went on her no matter what the evidence said. They have raised our already outrageous rates $400 per month, which means we pay $1065 per month.

We will be looking for another company ASAP and I have nothing positive to say about Progressive Insurance. In fact, the only power I have in this situation is to let everyone know what a horrendous company they are, and how their customer advocacy and support is the worst I have ever experienced. Progressive should be ashamed of themselves for misrepresenting someone who is young and vulnerable and for causing her to have a full liability accident on her report. Ridiculous.

Terrible

"I’m glad everyone else has such amazing experience with this company. I have an agent who apparently couldn’t care less. Hard to get a hold of, doesn’t return calls, hardly in the office. I’ve never seen anything like it. Progressive owes $400 on an incident that happened well over a month ago and is dragging their feet. I will not continue with them. "

Useless insurance

"I was rear ended by the police, my car was a total loss and Progressive made 0 effort into resolving or assisting me with the issue, they simply said I was “not at fault” and abandoned me. I have not had a vehicle for 2 months now, my claim with the city for the damages made by the police is still in progress. I will be canceling my policy with progressive as I have friends and family with similar experiences. I have spent a fortune with them for nothing."

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!!!

"I just wanted to say I am very pleased with the service I had today on 01/26/2024. I was on the phone with a progressive agent named Ashley loveday. When I called I was inquiring about a claim that has followed me since 2021 that was a glass comprehensive claim which was put on my driving record as an at fault accident by my last insurance farmers insurance (bristol west). I have been dealing with this for over a year and gotten no where with anyone else. I was thinking about leaving progressive as I felt they were give me the run around just like past insurance companies I've had but not after the experience I had today! When I informed Ashley what I was dealing with she was very understanding and helpful. She sat on the phone with me for at least an hour on hold with my other insurance company and advocated for me and got me the documentation I needed to get this taken care of. She was professional, polite, and went way above and beyond than any other insurance agent I ever have delt with. Thank you for having someone as wonderful as her on your team. Keep hiring people like her. Keep up the great work! If anything she deserves a raise. Thank you Ashley!"

WARNING: Don't sign up for the Snapshot device

"Progressive's customer service is awesome. Always have the friendliest and most helpful agents when I have to reach out. I have an auto, home owners, and used to have renter's insurance policy. No complaints.
However, if you have auto do NOT sign up for SnapShot and get the device. Once it was plugged into my Jeep, it made the entire car inoperable. Everything locks and check service lights come on. Couldn't drive the car, couldn't change gears. Had to unplug it and wait for the car to realize the danger was removed. Then I could drive it just fine. Plug the device back in, same thing.
So don't take the changes. The discount isn't worth the potential damage to your car.
