"Update 8/23: As per instructions from ResellerRatings, I have taken out references to other websites.

Update 8/22: I was asked to take out written communication between Primotronix and myself.

Update 8/22: After posting my review here, I got a call from Primotronix. The person wanted to know why I had posted a bad review. I explained him that I didn't agree with their approach to reward reviewers to lie on ResellerRatings. The guy just exploded. Instead of apologizing, the started to threaten me. In his own words, "I just made sure that I cancel your warranty through Canon. Now you have to deal directly with us if you have any issues with your lens and trust me you will. I have blacklisted you in the system and I will personally see to it that you never get any support. My name is Jeremy. Good luck buying things from and . This was all in a very threatening tone. It is surprising that they think it is ok the threaten an online community of reviewers who will not post a dishonest review for a small reward.

To be fair on my part, I've updated my ratings below to reflect the fact that the lens was low priced and shipping was ok.

Original review 8/22: Primotronix is providing a free lens filter for everybody who buys lens from their site and posts an incorrect review on ResellerRatings. I got a call from the sales team and they wanted to walk me through this process. I declined. I also received the email with the detailed steps. Given this, I dont trust any of the very positive reviews posted here. I am going to give them a bad review for this practice and hope that ResellerRatings take notice.

"IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE....
Just scan through the reviews and you'll find the same complaint over and over...

Here's mine. I placed my order and my cards were charged on 8/4. I received a confirmation email on 8/5 notifying me of the charge and that the camera would ship in 24-48hrs. I was not given a tracking number.

Today is Aug 21st. Still no camera, still no tracking number. No response to emails. Every time I call, I'm put on indefinite hold. Do you think I'm getting my camera as promised? Me neither.

I've filed disputes w/ my credit card companies. Capitol One told me they would issue a credit to my account and do a charge back to the vendor if Primotronix doesn't deliver.

STAY AWAY FROM PRIMOTRONIX !

"ordered Canon G15 camera but charged me for three days shipping $ 59 and i ordered on August 20th for Labor day weekend usage but received on September 10th and i asked for refund without 10% restock fee since it's their fault for sending me in 20days. Still on hold on line for three days in a row and emailed for RMA # still didnt get this resolved !! So upsetting !!! Dont use this company to save few bucks, you lose your time and energy!!

"I placed an order for a Canon Rebel T3I Body Only camera on July 22. When looking at the "Specifications" section on their website, it does specify once in small print that the order will be for the import (600D) model. However, the US retail model (Rebel T3I) is mentioned over 40 times. I find this tactic to be somewhat devious.

After placing the order online, I received a phone call the next day to confirm my order. This was a thinly veiled attempt to upsell on accessories such as lenses and spare batteries. I refused all of the accessories, saying that I was only interested in the camera body itself. The sales agent told me he would process the order and I hung up content with everything so far. Several days later, I reviewed the charge that had been placed on my credit card, and found it to be $35 more than the order price (an increase of around 10%). I called back and asked why this had happened, which is when they informed me that they had "upgraded" my order to the US retail version at an additional cost. I informed them that I had not authorized this transaction, but agreed to let it slide considering that the price was still comparable to other vendors.

After a week of waiting, with no updates of any form and the order status on the website still showing "In-Process" I called back to request an update. I was told that in order to ensure that the camera came with the full 1 year manufacturer's warranty, they had to have the order processed through an official Canon re-seller, and that while the order had been sent to that re-seller, they wouldn't have any tracking information until it was processed by the re-seller. They were still within their advertised shipping window at this point, and repeatedly told me that a tracking number would be emailed to me "shortly." After not hearing from them for another couple days, I called back and was told that my order would arrive within the advertised shipping time frame, even if I didn't get the tracking number.

After the shipping window had passed, I called again to request an update. This time I was told that the camera was being shipped directly from Japan, and that I would receive a tracking number when the shipment got to the States. I informed them that I would be leaving the country in a week's time, and that I needed the camera before I left. They gave me a guarantee that my camera would be delivered at the very latest the day before I left. Fast forward to a week later, one day before the guaranteed arrival, I had still not received a tracking number. I called back once more and was told this time that the camera was on back-order and would not be delivered for at least several more weeks. They offered to upgrade my original 1 year warranty to a 3 year, but I requested that my order be cancelled. The representative agreed to it and told me that I would receive confirmation of the order cancellation by the end of that day. I have still yet to receive confirmation of the cancellation, and as of yet nothing has been credited back to my account.

They have their site littered with things such as "100% customer satisfaction guaranteed" and "one-day only" or "this weekend only" sales that promise much. In my experience, I have not found a single one of these promises to be true. Rarely have I ever encountered a company less reputable than this one.

"Placed an order online. Didn't write down the order number. Didn't receive an email confirmation after couple of hours. Then, I called the customer service to get the order confirmation. Then, they asked me write a review. I did. That was 8/14. After a week, I still didn't get the shipping status. I called on 8/22. They said there are two orders under my name. One made online, the other over the phone. No, I didn't place two orders. The phone call made on 8/14 was just to get the online order confirmation. The mistake could happen. But the confusion from the customer service could be avoided if they know exactly what they are doing. I hope they only charged me one order. I have never had problems with amazon and ebay, and other online stores. This is the first time I have to call back to check my order status. There's much room to improve in the future."
