"Great Experience! After reading some reviews I was reluctant to place an order with them. It has been mentioned that this seller is slow to ship and some products seemed used. All I know is that I placed my order on Tuesday and received my well packaged notebook hard drive on Thursday. Slow shipping? This seller also indicates items as new, refurb, pull etc. My drive was clearly described as "pull". Come on people, you're saving 50% on something not "new", live with it. My first impression of this seller is excellent and will not hesitate buying from them again. PS my "pull" hard drive looks new and works great. Thanks PC Progress! "

"BUYER BEWARE! WARNING! Read the negative reviews before you consider doing business with these crooks. I bought the wrong RAM and called to get a RMA# (return merchandise authorization #). Their substituted memory was 3 times as expensive as their competitors so I opted to get a refund. I returned the memory as per instructions and 28 days later I have yet to get a refund. So, not only did they get their merchandise back they decided to keep my money too. Buyer beware! The Better Business Bureau has dozens of complaints about these crooks."

"Purchased memory for my new PC. It arrived in a timely fashion but didn't work. Found out they sold me HIGH density chips. (No mention of that when it was ordered to my knowledge.) Requested an RMA. They gave me a list of alternatives. I selected one and waited. Come to find out I was sold a non-stock, special order item. Called "Customer Service" and when asked if there was either 1) an alternative or 2) when it arrives can they expedite the shipping - he wouldn't budge. Fair enough. Just wanted to explain to "Customer Service" that people should be warned when you 'suggest' alternatives that it isn't in stock and is a special order item. He went on to explain to me that they have no obligation to do anything to make up for my mistaken order. "I've done enough to appease you so either you wait for it to come or I'll just go ahead and cancel your order" says Customer No Service. He then informed me that he was a lawyer and he proved it by his loud tone and vulgar language.
So - if you order from PC Progress and your item works. Good for you! But if you ever have to deal with "Customer Service" - I feel sorry for you!

"I purchased 6 items from PCProgress.com (MB/video card/CPU/Mem stick/CPU fan/HD and all of them were defective except the CPU fan. Company failed to refund all my money as promised! What a headache! "

" I ordered a used Sempron 3000(was labelled as such) from PC Progress. Sempron 3000's were selling for $120+ on eBay so the $75 they were charging seemed like a good deal.
PC Progress offers Paypal, which is a good thing. With smaller sellers I prefer using Paypal.
The processor was packed well, shipped quickly, and worked perfectly.
Cant ask for much more. I would definitely buy from PC Progress again, top marks.

"I ordered an AMD XP 2600+ because this store had cheap prices. But then I found out why it's so cheap, the things they sent to you were broken. I received the AMD but it was chipped, there were white marks and bent pins. It was a complete rip off because the core was useless and could not be used. I still have yet to find out if I got my refund back yet. NEVER BUY FROM PCPROGRESS.COM

"I started ordering from this company several years ago. To date, I would guess I have ordered more than $7,000 worth of merchandise. At first the service and prices were great, and shipping was fast. The last couple of years I have noticed a marked decrease in product quality and customer service. Order processing times times have become atrocious. I'm not talking about shipping, I am talking about the amount of time it takes them to process the order and get it shipped. This last order was the final straw. I purchased a notebook harddrive. I waited 2 or 3 days and did not receive a shiiping notice. I called them and they told me it would ship that day. It arrived 5 days later. Bear in mind that I live 3 hours away. Shipping ground ups from Chicago to my place RARELY takes more than 2 days. I installed it and it lasted 3 days. I called in for an RMA and returned it. More than a week later I still had not heard a thing. I called and they told me that they were going to process that RMA that day. I get an email telling me it was back ordered and it would ship in 1-3 days. 4 days later I still had not received a shipping notice. I called them and they told me it was shipping that day (Do you notice a pattern here?) I canceled it. I am looking elsewhere for my hardware needs."

"Purchase process was smooth. Got a good price on a 512 MB memory module. But they shipped a 256 MB module. Fortunately I noticed this before opening the seal on the bag. Shipped back the part, took a week after they received it, for me to get the correct part. They did not refund the cost of shipping the part back. So it cost me $5 more because of their error. In the end, not such a good deal after all.

"Ordered an Athlon XP which I've yet to test. A note about their CPUs, however: yes, they are used--at least the ones I was interested in--, but it's clearly stated as such on the description page for these items. Don't be surprised to recieve a used product when it's stated right there on the page."

"Never BUY from this store ever. I will try and spread this around. This site is so unreliable that they SELL you used CPU's when you think you are buying new ones. The CPU I got, Athlon XP 2600+ was chipped, had 2 bent pins, and was used. I could still see the thermal compound on it. There was also some writing on it and a white mark on the back. The shipping is also bad, they say it's free shipping for UPS and USPS, but they will always SHIP USPS, which is unreliable. It took me 7 days to recieve this item and it came as defective/used. If you want pictures of my CPU that I recieved, just ask me. Do not even give it a shot, afterwards, I bought from Newegg.com and had to return this piece of junk. Theres also a 15% deduction from your refund so you lose even more money. This site should close down. Again, if you want pics, just ask."

"They're customer service is nonexistant, and they ship defective products out of the box! I sent in THEIR defective product over a week ago and i haven't recieved any email, no response from customer service, about whats going on with my order. If you're buying something expensive here that is time sensitive to your needs, DO NOT BUY HERE. Go to newegg. They deliver everytime, on time, sometimes even early, and all their products WORK."

"I've ordered an OEM Intel PENTIUM 4 SOCKET 478 2800MHZ 533MHZ BUS 512K NORTHWOOD 0.13uM on Oct 2, 2005. Everything went well and the product arrived on Oct 7, 2005.

They sent me an USED CPU, well, I'm still acceptable with that as long as it's in working condition. The problem is they've sent me a P4 mobile processor which was not compatible with my board and it read as a P4 1.6G instead!

The good news is they've got a really FAST RESPONSE on customer service, and soon after my complaint, they agreed to replace my processor with the correct one.

The bad news is the one they replaced was still an defective product which hardly noticeable, until after my numerous test with various motherboard!

Anyway, I finally had my refund back but at a deduction of the 15% restocking fee, and I'd to get the processor elsewhere!

Conclusion -- great customer services but bad merchandise!

"Haven't ordered from the yet but.....

Has anyone noticed that this company is also listed under Spartan Technologies?? Wonder why they have 2 store fronts? hrmmm


EDIT: Was going to buy a 1GIG stick of Ram from them but I then saw that their site lists all products as OEM unless listed otherwise.....make sure you understand that you're getting OEM and not retail box products.
