"I wish I had read this web page before doing business with these thieves. I ordered a motherboard and a CPU from this company. I took forever, they will not answer their phones and will occasionally answer emails with nonsense replies. My mother board arrived...obviously NOT new and the connector for the chassis fan was missing and appears that it was snapped off the board. The CPU has still not arrived... it has been over a month and they no longer respond to any email contact. The better business bureau has no less than 113 complaints filed against them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY."

"Like many other customers, I have been robbed by PC Planet Systems. Back in March of 2011, I ordered 4 hard-to-find video cards supposedly in "NEW OEM" condition (for a total amount of $830.98). The cards I received were neither new or in working condition.
I returned the cards and, since the company doesn't issue refunds, I was given a store credit in the form of a coupon to be used on their website.
When I attempted to use the coupon, I saw that it had already been used. I emailed PC Planet Systems and was told that their webmaster would fix the issue.
That was over a month ago. Nothing has been fixed and now they simply ignore my emails.

I filed complains with the agencies listed below and I encourage everyone here to do the same.
This company should not even exist. I can't believe how to can operate legally.

"I built my personal computer for games and personal management, finishing it around 2003. Almost all of the parts I purchased were from online merchants. Over the years it has served me well but isn't quite capable of playing some of the newest games having a 2.4B GHz Pentium 4. To beef it up some, I made a search for the now discontinued 3.2 GHz Extreme Pentium 4. PC Planet showed favor by competitive pricing and availability. Since I've never experienced problems purchasing parts online, checking reviews wasn't exactly necessary from my point of view. After making an order from PC Planet, it's an absolute necessity now.

After about 30 days of waiting for the parts to ship, I attempted to contact customer service to inquire why my order hadn't shipped only to have my calls not going through as if the phone number didn't have a phone hooked up at the other end.

Last week, I filed a dispute for that transaction at the financial institution I use in an attempt get my money back. I also printed screen shots of my order details and gave them to my credit union as evidence of my suspicion that it's a scam.

One thing I noticed which raises high suspicion as to the credibility of PC Planet is that the transaction was processed before shipping the product(s).

Save yourself the grief of loosing your money and possibly your existing computer systems by not ordering from PC Planet Systems.com

I ordered an item over a month ago, no reply to e-mail, no nothing, do not do business with them or you will suffer as I have. They charged me for the part and never sent the part. No response to my emails requesting a refund. So I contact my financial institution and I am in the process of getting the charges reversed. But I'm not done there. I have contacted my local police department and filed a crime report. The police are taking the lead on this and are in the process of contacting the proper authorities in Cal. Anyone that has been ripped of by this company needs to do the same as I did. This will get this company shut down, the owners arrested and charged with the crime."

"Greetings fellow victims!

I have a friend who has a system that had several bulging caps on his asus p5b motherboard and we wanted to proactively replace his soon to fail motherboard before it failed. The only ones who had the availability of this item was PC Planet Systems.

Aside from the long delay in receiving the board we actually did receive the part! That alone is a shock after reading all these reviews!

However I was horrified when we opened the box. It was encased in clear plastic bubble wrap. No esd protective bag, no foam rubber or cardboard inserts, just the board in a bubble bag rattling around inside the box.

The box was another issue. they simply took the asus box and turned it inside out and used that as the shipping box.

I understand that it was intended for replacement use only so I did not expect any of the "accessory items" (like cables, back plate, etc.) and was not disapointed!

But what I didn't expect was the dirt on the board, the bulging capacitor on the board and bent and missing pins on the front panel connector.

Also as a side note my friend also ordered an 80mm fan to replace the fan in his power supply and they billed him for it but it was never shipped.

When he contacted them they responded that this was a "tested 100% functional board".

Funny joke. the original board worked fine but was destined to fail because of the soon to pop caps on it. The replacement board failed to recognize the IDE channel. The dvd drives didn't even show in the post screen, nor were they present in windows. The onboard sound card was enabled in the BIOS, but didn't show as present in windows.

The IDE and sound worked perfectly on the "bad" board but neither worked on the "tested 100% operational" board provided by this fine company.

When they were contacted they didn't even bother to address the missing fan and simply said the board was fully functional.

I have built literally hundreds of PC's over the years and currently work for a laptop service center for a national company (will not say which one but it is a large well known company).

This board is clearly not new and they probably didn't even boot an OS on it, just powered up and saw it enter the BIOS and that is likely their "100% functional" test.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you do NOT DO BUSINESS with them.

"This company is the buggest SCAM on the net that I have ever seen. Same as most with the back and forth "china" coments and it is "shipping" in 24 hrs. Still nothing, no replies to emails in over 10 days and only once I have got to talk to a live person and she just blew me off. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

"I ordered a motherboard that was the wrong one according to the picture. I called and tried to explain to someone, that it was the wrong motherboard, and I am not necessarily an I.T. nor am I the techie type. All I was trying to do is salvage my computer with some help from a friend. The representative from pc planet systems was was rude and didn't want to hear me out. Flat out I asked for a refund. I offered to ship the product back at my own expense in the original packing that it came in. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and worked in the community for 15 years. I sent some emails to them as well and never got a response back. There is no service in customer service with this company. Read the other comments here as well. They tell you the same thing. Stay away from dealing this company. Now I am out $120 and a useless computer part. Do business with newegg or tigersdirect. Much better. Pc PLanet Systems will take you for your money and run."

"I ordered a motherboard in April, 2011. The order was processed, three days later my credit card was charged, but the product was never shipped. I got nothing but runaround when trying to contact them via live chat, email, and phone. Indeed, the phone call was met with a generic "nobody is available to take your call" message. Only the first two or three emails were answered, and then with a notice that the part was discontinued, and had to be shipped from China. The only China I know of is 12,000 miles away, but still on planet Earth. I have to wonder on which planet their China is. The credit card only disputes charges for 60 days. It appears that my only other option is to file a small claims action against them."

"This company is quick to take your money, make promises on delivery, slow to respond to repeated inquiries (don't bother trying to call the ***-***-**** number - it ALWAYS goes to voicemail), and never refunds your payment even though they say they will. I ordered an MSI socket AM2 motherboard on 08-01-2011, total cost with shipping was $96.10 and paid by visa.
On 08-08-11, I received a reply to my order inquiry stating that "the order has been processed on August 4th and it takes 5 to 8 business days to be shipped out"
On 08-16-11, I received a second reply to my inquiry stating that "we have a delay in customs from our transfer in China, your product should be shipped out to you by the end of this week/beginning of next week".
On 08-23-11, I received a third reply to my inquiry stating that "we are having a delay from one of the containers coming from our location in China in which your board is included, is currently been processed by customs and should be arriving by late this week/beginning of next week".
On 09-12-11, I received this reply to my email in which I asked them to explain why they have not yet cancelled this order and refunded my payment after 6 WEEKS - "The product you have ordered is a discontinued product from the US market.....if you want to have your order cancelled we can do that, refunds are made by check since your order was placed more than 5 business days, if that is ok with you let us know and WE WILL PROCESS YOUR CANCELLATION RIGHT AWAY".
SINCE THEN I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE WORD MORE FROM THIS FINE UPSTANDING COMPANY DESPITE MANY EMAILS FROM ME ASKING FOR THE STATUS OF THE PROMISED REFUND. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU!

"My company was looking for a particular discontinued motherboard. We found them at PC Planet Systems. The only company in America that sells this particular motherboard. We decided to get 10 as a "test run" for PC Planet Systems to see if they were reliable or not.

We received a poorly packaged box (I could have done MUCH better) of 9 motherboards and 8 face plates for them. When we emailed them asking where the other motherboard was, they said it was in route. They could have easily put the last motherboard in the box with the rest of them and reduced shipping costs for their customer, but they didn't.

Upon inspection, the motherboards looked salvaged. There is rust on the CPU slots and dirt all over. Nowhere on the website did it say the motherboard was used or salvaged, only "MEANT TO BE USED AS REPLACEMENT ONLY." I tested the motherboards, and so far they actually work.

In conclusion, I would not recommend this company. The poor packaging could have caused the motherboards to be damaged during shipping. The motherboards were filthy and they could have cleaned them up prior to shipping them out. Their grammar in our email conversations leaves something to be desired (no punctuation, very short sentences), except for the emails that are automatically generated. Finally, their website and logo are sort of an eyesore. I know this is something minor, but it definitely gives you a glimpse of how unprofessional this company is. I would rather buy from a company in China.

EDIT: Follow-Up to Response from PC Planet...
First of all, how rude of them to reply back using all caps and attacking their customer so harshly. Is a teenager running this company? Not only that, but I am NOT James Lowman, and I'm sure he would not appreciate PC Planet Systems putting his information on the internet like that! Whatever happened to customer privacy? You can bet that I will report this to the BBB!

I do, in fact understand what OEM packaging is...
An original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, manufactures products or components that are purchased by a company and retailed under that purchasing company's brand name. OEM refers to the company that originally manufactured the product.
The original package would not have rust or dirt inside the motherboards!

Again, seriously? With the bad grammar, caps-lock, and bad-mouthing the customers? If you'll look at previous reviews for PC Planet Systems, you will note that this is their common practice. I don't see how anybody can take PC Planet Systems seriously.

I do in fact work for the company that made the order, but I will remain anonymous - I have that right. But I will tell you that I am very knowledgeable with computers (software and hardware). I graduated with a degree in Computer Science.

To PC Planet Systems, if you want your business to grow and succeed, I would recommend the following...
1) Quit being so aggressive and attacking your customers. Instead, try to reason with them and work things out.
2) Work on professionalism. It's obvious by the bad grammar, caps-lock, and bad-mouthing that you don't take your job seriously. So why should your customers?
3) Clean up your products before shipping them out.
4) Put extra padding in your shipments.
5) Try to please the customer!

NewEgg is a great company, maybe you should take some of their ideals and try to use them.

You have attacked me over and over (with no valid proof). Yet you have failed to defend yourself over the poor shipping quality, the bad grammar, the caps-lock, the bad-mouthing, the poor customer service, etc.

We still have yet to get the 10th motherboard we ordered nearly a month ago. After further testing, only 4 of the 9 we received worked.
