Horrible Customer Service

"If it was possible to give zero stars for Luxe Decor and their sister company Patio World I would. I ordered a custom made patio umbrella that was approximately $4,000.00. I was told by their sales team I would have it September 1, 2021. The reality was it arrived two months later than that the summer season was over and there was no need to assemble it and leave it outside all winter. I opened the box to check for shipping damage saw none and placed it in storage for the winter in my basement. My mistake here was I trusted Luxe Decor to have sent all the accessories I ordered and paid for in advance. Much to my chagrin when I opened the box to assemble the umbrella this spring the $255.00 remote battery pack to power the lights was not in the shipment. I contacted the company about this issue and was told I had waited to long to make a claim and they would not send me the item I paid for. I don't really understand why, if you pay $255.00 for a battery pack it has to have at least a one year warranty if I had received a bad battery pack I could send it back to them for replacement. You certainly cannot lose it as it attaches directly to the main umbrella frame. I asked the customer service manager what exactly did he think I was trying to do? Why would I call up and make a bogus claim. He said he didn't think I was trying to run a scam but he couldn't help me. This umbrella while very nice can be purchased at Lowe's for $2,000.00 the reason it was so expensive is the custom fabric and accessories I ordered along with it. As with anything a la carte we all know you pay twice as much for not buying the stock floor model. I was willing to do that to get exactly what I wanted. Needless to say the profit margin on this for Luxe Decor was least $1500.00. To not send the battery pack and then refuse to rectify the situation for a good customer is ridiculous. I didn't like it but that was the reality of it. So after a brief discussion the customer service rep says he can give me a reduced rate on a new battery pack and he would send me a quote. I reluctantly agreed and waited for it to arrive. I was completely blown away with what happened next. The customer service rep raised the price $100.00 of the battery pack to $350.00 and then offers me a $95.00 discount! So instead of receiving a discounted rate for something I had already paid for but never received I was paying full price for another one! I went online and purchased the battery pack from another dealer. I had to pay the $250.00 price but I refuse to do business with Luxe Decor and Patio World and will be sure to tell one and all what a horrible company they both are and how they conduct business. My one question in all this is to the customer service manager. Is it really worth the extra the extra $150.00 dollars of profit you have made by screwing a good customer who will not only never do business with you again but will let the entire world know how you do business? Believe me this is just the first of all the social media and internet reviews I am about to write. You should be fired because you obviously don't understand what the term Customer Service means."

Poor Communication and Service

"I ordered a Temple brand sofa back on 11/08/21. On ordering, I was given a delivery date in February, and the only shipping option was “doorstep delivery”, so I asked specifically if they drop it in the yard or bring it inside the front door. I was very relieved when the sales rep said, “ma’am, they’ll bring it inside the door”. The next day, got an email stating I now have a delivery date of 06/06/22. I was apprehensive because they had over $3k of my money for 8 months while waiting. I emailed every couple of months asking for any updates. Always the response was 06/06/22. So today is 06/06/22 and I have no sofa. Their third-party shipping service (that the customer service rep today stated is “difficult”) arbitrarily changed my arrival date to 06/07/22. When I told them I work a 12hr shift tomorrow and that I’d rearranged my work schedule to accommodate the date id been given, I was told, “our driver will leave it in the first dry place then”. That was not ok with me. I was shocked, actually. When I called luxe decor, they did say that they’ll call and reschedule the delivery AND CHARGE ME $100 to carry the sofa the three feet from the yard into the house (no stairs), even though I had clarified this in the beginning as part of the delivery process. It’s afternoon on 06/06/22, the day my sofa was promised 8 months ago, and I still do not know when it’s coming and Luxe Decor has yet another $100 of my money. I’m not pleased and I would not recommend this store. The communication is very difficult and the service is poor. I just hope I get my sofa at some point…"

Very shady company w/false claims and zero customer service

"I placed an order on 2/17 from LuxeDecor for patio furniture totaling $1,346.59 and a charge was applied to my card at that time. It stating shipping would be in 1-2 weeks. On 3/4 I received an email that the shipping had been pushed out to 4/8 for the chairs and 4/28 for the table. I sent an email to cancel the order. I received an email back on 3/7 that the manufacture had been contacted and the cancelation was underway. I needed the product and purchased it locally. On 3/8 the chairs arrived at my residence. The purchase price of the chairs is $796. I contacted the company for a return and a week later was notified that the return would be $238.80 (30% of purchase price) restocking plus $103.92 shipping. The chairs are a stock item manufactured at Polywood. Their website dedicates a full page to their "30 Day Hassle Free" return policy. Hidden in the policy are 2 significant caviots. 1. Special orders are subject to a return fee. This company does not manufacture product so every single item they sell they categorize as a "special order" even it is a stock item at the manufacture. No where on the site does it state the fee is a whopping 30% of the purchase price. 2. They are allowed to apply this fee for any order that is cancelled outside of their 24 hour cancelation policy. If you read the online reviews this company is notorious for horrendous customer service with zero ordered tracking. In many cases product is delivered months after it ships. The estimated shipping date is fluid and in my case not even close to the actual date. That said at anytime you decide to cancel you order you are subject to their restocking fee. You basically cannot cancel an order regardless of how poorly it is mismanaged. Items that arrive damage and are returned can and are charged a 30% restocking fee as well. I have to wonder if they intentionally delay and manipulate orders with the goal of charging the 30% fee. This company has established a massive profit center for themselves scamming customers hundreds of thousands of dollars in these hidden and unacceptable fees. I would not be surprised if the majority of their net income is from these fraudulent fees and not from distributing furniture. In addition I have yet to receive the credit for the table to my credit card which I have contacted them daily.
I believe that this company has somehow been able to bury consumer complaints in on-line reviews with bought false positive reviews. The number of reviews vs the size of this company are way off. If you go to Yelp you will get a clear picture of what customers are saying. Over 90% of the reviews are 2 stars or less with the majority being 1 star with an experience similar to mine.
I have contacted the BBB, Illinois Attorney General and the FTC to investigate.

Think Twice Before Shopping with LuxeDecor

"My husband and I purchased a bedframe on May 5, 2021 and received a shipping notification on May 27, 2021. Excited to receive our item, I followed the tracking information closely. The tracking info would state our item was arriving the following week, but, when I would check the tracking details that week, it would be pushed back an additional week. Fast forward to the first week in July, and we still had not received our item. This time, the tracking information did not skip ahead and the delivery date was past, but we did not receive a call to schedule delivery. I reached out to the shipping company who said our item was waiting to be delivered. They transferred me to scheduling, but, after a decent wait, circled back to the representative who said they were unable to locate our package. They requested I call back the next day, which I did. The representative I spoke to that day said they still had not located it and to call back tomorrow. I called back once again, but it was 4th of July weekend so they were closed. I called back Tuesday, was 11th in the queue, and, over the course of 30 minutes, never moved up in the queue. I finally decided to request a call back, and, around 10 minutes later, received a call. The automated service circled over-and-over again without ever connecting me to a person, even though I kept pressing the number to speak to a representative. I decided to reach out to Luxe Decor instead and spoke to a representative. I explained the situation and voiced my concern about this item not arriving ASAP because we are moving at the beginning of August. The representative was very understanding and said they would look into it and contact me no later than tomorrow through email. Later that day, I received an email from LuxeDecor stating they were unable to obtain any additional information about our item but would contact me tomorrow when they looked into it further. It is now July 12, and I never received any additional communication. Due to this, I reached out requesting to cancel the order, fearful it would not arrive before we move, and received an email from a LuxeDecor representative saying I could not cancel the package but could reject it when it arrived, which would result in shipping, restocking, and cancellation fees. My husband and I did nothing wrong, but we are being penalized for the mistakes of LuxeDecor and the shipping company. This is by far the worst company we have ever worked with, and I would give them zero stars if I could. Even though their furniture looks beautiful, the entire ordeal has been a massive headache and stress factor. I would think twice before using this company."

Love these UWHARRIE Adirondack chairs

"We were excited to find that The Uwharrie Chair Company still manufactures the Plantation style chair. We bought these chairs back in 1996, so these new chairs will match perfectly with our old (but very new looking) Uwharrie chairs. We decided to purchase these in the Poly material since these will be out on our deck under the sun and open to the weather. Looking forward to using them this summer! -- Happy Customer! "

"It’s becoming pretty routine, that you order some thing from a place and they’re just the reseller of the item. The wallpaper I needed ended up being out of stock and they didn’t let me know until a day and a half later. If the item is out of stock, I would appreciate if the website just said that, so I could move on and find what I need someplace else. I’m not on my email a lot, so I just happened to catch it. Please keep your stock updated!!"
