Knockdown furniture

"I bought a two door clothing closet. God, I was not told they weigh a TON! It needs professional cabinet assembling. Even if you have two person, still cannot handle, needs professional assembling. Trust me the cost of professional help will cost more than the knockdown. Cheaper to buy from furniture store delivered. You will not regret it. Trust me."

Never improves

"Employee in paint department made 5 gallons of Behr paint to match previously purchased Behr product. Employee mixed wrong product and it wasn’t discovered until new paint was applied. Behr senior representative for the area said store should replace it only to be denied by store manager. This is similar to a wrong deck product I was advised to purchase years ago and I had to take them to court to get compensation."

Waiting one month for appliance delivery

"Waited all day on two different dates for scheduled delivery. Home Depot's outsourced delivery contractor canceled once again! They never even called to inform of the second cancellation and then hung up on me when I called to complain! Home Depot says, "not our fault, not our problem"! Well, its HD's problem now - I cancelled my order. I hope HD continues to lose business by using incompetent outsourced delivery and install companies who provide ZERO customer service!"

Awful Experience

"We ordered a washer and dryer for my aunt who can no longer leave the house without assistance from Home Depot in Secane a few weeks prior to Thanksgiving. The delivery date was set for 12/18/19; the appliance was scheduled to be delivered between 9-1. The delivery company was no call/no show. We called the store around 1:30 to check the status of the delivery only to learn the company "forgot" to put her items on the truck. We were given a 10 day reschedule date despite it being their fault that the items weren't delivered. The Store Manager, "Johnny" to date had not return my phone calls. I called the corporate office; reportedly "Johnny" didn't return their outreach either. Today the items were supposed to be delivered between 7-11. Again no call/no show with the items. Again I called the store and the Manager was unavailable. Again I called the corporate office and was told the delivery truck was running behind; and that someone would call me soon; and to expect the delivery in a half hour or around noon. At 2p.m.I called back to check the status of the delivery and was told after waiting since 7 a.m. that they tried to deliver the items but no one was home. This is not true of course. They have rescheduled now for 1/3/20. I have not ever received a response from the Store Manager to date. The delivery company is West Side and they are totally unprofessional.
Everyone to whom I've spoken at Home Depot has been cavalier about the lack of professionalism displayed by the store manager and the delivery company. The moral of the story, go to LOWES or any place else, and don't use West Side delivery. Extremely disappointed but wise enough to know that I will not be purchasing items from Home Depot again.

Amazing Service!

"What an organization! I am a regular customer of store #3810 in Canton, OH and also at Lowe's nearby. When Lowe's offered 50% off on their live Christmas trees but had no inventory of #2 size potted trees I called THD to see if they would match the deal today. The garden center manager Sarah told me to come in and she would take care of me. I picked out a pair of trees, went to the customer service area and cashier April said "Merry Christmas!" and gave me the trees at no charge. Not only was this completely unexpected, but I also appreciate that she said "Merry Christmas". There are still some businesses who appreciate the reason for the season, and have not restricted their employees from expressing their religious beliefs in their greetings to customers. Just another reason Home Depot is the leader in their industry. "

Veterans discount

"Bought a stove the other day and wasn’t able to use my veterans discount of 10%. Associate explained item was already on sale so computer wouldn’t let me use veterans discount because it was double dipping? Still don’t know why that would be. Guess they only honor veterans as long as it’s not a sale So disappointing!!!"

Home Depot sto;e my money

"I brought back two bathroom faucets at Home depot. I showed them a receipt and they told me they would issue a store credit. My store credit is for $351.00. I went on line to purchase lighting and they said i couldn't use the store credit for on line order. The store doesn't have the lighting i want. So i called corporate customer service they told me its for in store use only. I told them they stole my money and telling me how to spend it. They responded by saying we are sorry."

Failed to Deliver (Literally)

"I have placed two home delivery orders through your company in the last four months. Both of them failed to be delivered within the stated timeframe and I was not proactively communicated with regarding this failure.

The first order was placed through the Tacoma, WA store on Aug 25, 2019. It was for an order of paving bricks and retaining wall blocks. On the day of delivery, the delivery window came and went. When we called the store, they initially stated it was because we were not home. We were. Upon being passed back and forth between departments, we finally spoke to a manager who disclosed that the delivery company refused to accept the product from the store because it was not packaged properly. This caused the order to be refused and our delivery delayed by a week. Thankfully, the store provided us a discount.

On the second, and next occasion, I ordered a Samsung Dishwasher and Refrigerator on homedepot.com on November 24. I had a confirmed delivery date of Dec 7 between 1 and 5 PM. At the end of that delivery window, I called the hotline which said my order was delayed. It had many options to state a concern or reschedule but kept rerouting me back to my order was delayed. I was unable to reach a representative to talk to via the phone number provided. I then called customer care via the main homedepot.com website and asked for an update. I was informed that the delivery service dispatch was closed and they could not give me an update. I was offered to reschedule and accepted. I was then informed the next day available would be December 28. Three weeks later for an error on your end or the part of your contracted delivery service seems excessive. I cancelled my order at that time. I will additionally have to wait 10 business days for my money to be refunded for items that were never received. For an individual, that is not a small amount of money.

I wanted to share how deeply disappointed I am in your company in your:
-follow through on promises made at time of purchase.
-properly correcting the error in a timely manner that is convenient and supportive of the customer.
-the ability to reach a customer care representative in a succinct and understandable way.
-the proper and proactive notification when you knew it would not arrive on time.

I have spent thousands of dollars remodeling my house over the last year. At this point, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Refused to install the appliances TWICE, HORRIBLE!

"WARNING: Purchase appliances from Home Depot is a disaster. If you want to keep out of trouble, find other reputable sellers like Costco, Best Buy, etc., ESPECIALLY if you are not WHITE.

tl;dr. I paid Home Depot to install new appliance purchased from them, but they refused to do it TWICE without giving any reasonable explanation. So they either
1. unprofessional, lacks technical skills or training, or
2. just don't want to do the work (my laundry room is on upstairs, so they need to move washer/dryer up and down), or
3. are racists, because I am Asian.

Long story version:
I purchased washer/dryer/styler from Home Depot, because their price is fair and provide installation service. But unfortunately, it is a total SPAM. On the first delivery, they found the washer was damaged. I asked them to install other appliances, they refused because they said they must be installed together.

On the second delivery, the delivery men checked my laundry room and told me they can't do installation because the water outlet box in my laundry room is too small, so it can't fit the LG Sidekick washer (the washer in the pedestal). But in fact, before I purchased them, I went to Home Depot to ask the installation, the shop associate confirmed the pedestal washer doesn't have special requirements for the outlet box. I also checked LG's official installation video, it shows the regular outlet box. And later after the delivery men left, I contacted LG USA customer service, they also double confirmed it doesn't have special requirements. I explained to them I have double confirmed with Home Depot shop associate and online video, but they just said no without any reasonable explanation. They didn't even measure my current box, and didn't tell me what size is "bigger" enough.

On the following day, I hired a general contractor to my home to help install the washer and dryer. We installed them successfully, they fit my outlet box perfectly, which means both Home Depot shop associate and LG customer service are all correct, but the Home Depot delivery men are totally wrong.

I called Home Depot and spoke with the store manager. The guy inisisted his delivery men did the right thing because they "followed LG installation spec". I asked him to show me the installation spec, but they refused.

Home Depot didn't even fully refund me the installation fee I paid with the appliances!

I have filed a complaint to BBB. I didn't expect it could help a lot, just want everyone to be aware of this kind of SPAM. Don't think you will get what you paid always, they can refuse the work anytime!!!

They really need to work on their customer service

"I bought a dryer and less than 24 hours after delivery it doesn't get hot. They refuse to do a refund or exchange. One employee told me to contact the manufacter so I did. They told me to contact Home Depot, so I called them back. This employee told me I needed to contact the delivery people but didn't offer a phone number or any other help. I will not be shopping at Home Depot for any major purchase items in the future, as they do not stand behind what they sell."

"Horrible customer service! I was supposed to have a washer and dryer delivered today. I had the delivery scheduled between 1-5. They were supposed to call a half an hour beforehand. They called at 7:00 to let me know they weren’t going to be able to make it. Thanks because we took the day off of work! I will NEVER again purchase anything from this store!"

Not a great experience but 5 stars to Lisa on the Resolution Team:

"I ordered a champion power equipment generator online with a promise of driveway delivery. On the day of delivery the shipping company emailed me alerting item would arrive by the close of Nov 1, 2019. That never happened. When my husband contacted the shipping company we were once again promised the item would arrive by the end of day. This game went on for 2 weeks. Finally on Veterans day, and we are Army vets, we were informed by the shipping company that the item was missing and they were filling an internal report. I called Home Depot on the customer service line and demanded some professionalism with my order. I was then transferred to the Resolution Department where Lisa not only thanked me and my husband for our service, she apologized for the inconvenience. I was very pleased with the level of professionalism, championing, and compassion Lisa showed us. I was very pleased with the way she handled the 2 week runaway in 5 minutes. I won't recommend home delivery because of shifty contractors, but I would definitely recommend in store pickup."

DO NOT USE for CUSTOM ORDERS

"Where do I start....home depot are notorious for creating orders for delivery and getting them WRONG.

On one occasion they loaded and had a company deliver the wrong wood. Then we had to rent a truck to return the wrong wood as they would not take it back.

On another occasion we placed an order to deliver 3 doors and 57 sheets of drywall... all for deliver on the same day we even paid for premium deliver an additional $20. They delivered 1 door within the hours of 8-12pm. Then another truck delivered another door later that day... then yet another truck delivered the drywall and left it in the alley and a fourth truck delivered the final door!

We lost money and time dealing with this one issue with HD. We had to let workers go home that morning because the drywall was not delivered as promised. Then when it was delivered we had to find help to bring all that material out of the alley into the property.

Oh on top of all of this we ordered cabinets on 10/5 that were supposed to be delivered to us by Oct 29, well today is Nov 6 and HD still has no idea where or when these cabinets will be delivered !!!!

I litterally hate HD and If I could give them 0 stars iwould ! They are horrible at best.

Cape Coral Florida customer service Nightmare

"I wanted a Dishwasher, I got a headache instead.

3 weeks ago I purchased a Samsung dishwasher from the Home Depot. 3 days later, I took off from work to meet the installers and have it installed. Everything appeared to be in order when they installed it, but later that night I went to do a load of dishes and some error lights came on and the dishwasher stopped working.

I called Home Depot and they agreed to send another one out and rescheduled another delivery.
The installation team came out, removed the old dishwasher and installed a new one. Again, everything appeared to be working. I left and went back to work. Later that evening I returned home prepared to do a load of dishes. 20 minutes into the wash cycle another set of lights comes on and the dishwasher stops working. So I looked in the owners manual and the error code said the dishwasher wasn’t getting water. I checked the supply line, it was open and there was water in the dishwasher.

The next day I went to the Home Depot and I spoke to someone in the appliance dept who assured me they would take care of the problem by sending someone out to our home to fix it. So days later I get to take off a third time from work to meet, what turns out to be the same installer who installed the first dishwasher. He told me it was installed properly and that I would have to contact Home Depot. At this point, I’m starting to get aggravated at all the hoops I had to jump thru to get a dishwasher.

So I drove my unhappy **** down to the Home Depot and told them that I no longer wanted a Samsung Dishwasher, that I wanted a different model instead. I was told that I would have to schedule another appoint at my house to return the dishwasher and then purchase another dishwasher to be deliver and yet another date.

I didn’t really think it was fair that I should have to take off 2 more times from work to end up with a working dishwasher. So I told Tina the manager that arrangement would be unacceptable. They could deliver a new dishwasher and remove the non working dishwasher at the same time.

I would have been willing to pay the difference for a better model. Apparently giving me a refund and allowing me to pay the difference was against Home Depot’s policy. So I had to purchase another dishwasher it was Floor Model Bosch dishwasher. I was assured at the time I paid for it that the dishwasher would be scheduled for delivery as soon as we got back from vacation.

Upon my return from vacation. I went in to schedule the delivery of our new Bosch Dishwasher, when I was told by Tina the General Manager that home deport doesn’t deliver floor models. Needless to say I was beyond **** off at this point. She never made an apology, she just cited company policy. I promptly told Tina that I wanted to return everything and receive a refund.

She quickly passed us of to Tessa a customer service associate who was equally uninterested in delivering any type of customer service.

I then went home and removed the non working Samsung myself (as it was easier than taking another half a day of work off, so that Home Depot could pick it up) retuned and received a refund. Tina the manager took special care to make sure that every hose, nut and bolt was accounted for, but she never once said I’m sorry that you had to go thru all of this.

I own 2 businesses and a put tremendous value in making my customers happy. Over the course of 3 weeks, I have made at least 6 trips to the store and had at least as many phone calls. Each time Home Depot had the opportunity to solve my problem and they chose not to, each time citing this policy or that policy. My problem was that I just wanted a working dishwasher, delivered and installed just like I paid for twice. I didn’t ask for anything for free. I just wanted a dishwasher.

If Tina the General Manager of Home Depot cared half as much how I was affected during this process, rather than how Home Depot would be affected. They would still have a customer. I will never be back.
