Never Again

"I ordered and had a dishwasher delivered on a Tuesday of August. I was told not to unbox or touch said dishwasher as it would no longer be under warranty if I did. I never touched the box as it sat in my dining room for an entire week. Once two installers came to my house the following monday to install my dishwasher, they noticed dents on the front and reported it right away. Home Depot is now saying that they will not accept the dishwasher or allow me to return the dishwasher. Why? I have no idea. I am currently seeking legal advice."

Buying an Appliance?

"Buying an appliance? I'm an idiot, I guess. I bought a new LG washing machine at The Home Depot, Southlake, TX on 10 July 2020. Delivery scheduled for 04 August 2020 (delay due to Covid-19, of course). The delivery folks would not remove my old washer from its pedestal nor install the new washer on the old pedestal. The Southlake store says they told me this was the case when I bought the new machine. I guess I'm stupid, and so is my wife. We do not remember being told this, and it seems if I were told this, I probably would have done something about it at the time of purchase. Now, I've got a new washer on the floor and I've got to figure out how to get my existing pedestal underneath it.

Make sure, dear consumer, that when purchasing an appliance at The Home Depot that things like this are clear and you understand what's going to happen at delivery before you buy your appliance. If you don't, you're going to be stuck with resolving the problem yourself. You'll get no reasonable resolution from your friendly Home Depot folks.

Cannot cancel order

"Ordered an air conditioner to be delivered. Realized the next day our wiring would not support it. Called to cancel. Nope, can't cancel, even though it wasn't set to ship for a week. Unbelievable. So she says, "you can not accept the delivery". Uh huh, sure. The thing arrived by OnTrac, the worst shipper ever. They guy was rude and would not keep it on the truck. Dumped it on the driveway and drove off. Now we have to drive it 40 minutes to the nearest Home Depot. Truly insane. The company is horrible and we will never shop there again."

Ariel sink piece of junk

"I bought aa ARIEL sink from Home Depot in Gainesville on 13th st to redo my kitchen. I purchased a dishwasher, double oven, microwave, free standing zline stove, and large refrigerator. I also purchased granite countertops with them, they installed the ARIEL sink and within a day the sink was looking all scratched up. I called the manufacturer of the ARIEL sink and they told me send pictures which I did and they replied telling me there is nothing they can do. I have had numerous sinks in my 54 years. I know poor quality when I see it. The sink was almost $400 dollars. I called Home Depot and the best they can do is offer me 50%. To keep the piece of junk. I’m very disappointed with Home Depot not backing up what they sell. I will never buy anything ever from them again. They are all about money and not customer satisfaction. Now I’m stuck with the sink and will have to pay again for someone to install me a new sink. I will not let Home Depot do it again. I’m going to file a complaint with the BBB. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY with doing this to hard working customers. "

Pathetic - 4 days to get to store and 5 days to be ready for pickup!

"Ordered on a Saturday and tracking showed it arrived at local store 11:30am the following Friday but I was not notified it was ready for pickup until the following Wed after the store closed. I did go to the store before being notified and they said they did not have truck unloading on weekends but not ready Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (until after store closed). After visiting the store, I order from another vendor and received the item at my house the same day I could finally pick it up at Home Depot. Total waste of time shopping at Home Depot!"

One Star

"One Star, and that's being extremely generous.
I ordered an electric pressure washer on the home depot online. I found the item and started to do the check out process. I checked the box to have it home delivered. I accepted the fees for the shipping and paid through PayPal the total amount, including the shipping fee. Clicked on "print receipt" and immediately noted that it has store pick up with the home depot's store address (The store it was being shipped too, was not in my neighborhood. I have to drive past two other home depot stores to get to the store where the item was being sent. I wasted no time calling customer service. Due to the Covid-19, I expected a delay in getting a customer service agent. That is new normal that we all have to get used too.
The automated phone computer voice stated that it would be 20 minutes hold time. I ended up having to wait 92 minutes (of course on a speaker as I did other things, waiting). When the customer service agent answered, I started by introducing myself, and I asked the lady's name as I always do with anyone relating to customer service for my notes. (years of experience in dealing with over the phone customer service agents) Unfortunately, she refused and told me that she does not have to give me her name. I asked her again and stated that I must insist. I said that just in case I needed to provide my timeline of who I had spoken before too to another person if necessary. However, she did not want to do that and hung up me (oh, in her defense, right before the line went dead, she did tell me to have a nice day). I called again and had to wait an additional 74 minutes. And once again, when the customer service agent answered, I asked for her name, She replied with the same greeting that she had done initially when she answered the call, "Thank you for calling Home Depot, how may I help you." Being that I am a stubborn old fool. I asked again, and finally, she gave me her name. I explain my situation, and she tells me to (And this, is no lie. Incredibly enough, it actually happened) Sir, you have 30 minutes after the order was completed to contact us to correct anything wrong with the order, and since it has been over 2 in half hours since you made the order, there's nothing I can do. You'll just have to **** it up". If I want to cancel the order, I'll have to wait when it arrives at the store, 15 days later, and I can go into the store and request a cancel order.
I can say with 100% certainty that I will never use the home depot online ever again. This was my first time with home depot, and it will be my last. I usually use Lowes for online shopping and never had issues like this.
That was my experience with Home Depot Online shopping.

Washer and dryer/European plug/ NOT installed

"I purchased a washer and dryer and waited 4 weeks for delivery. At the time of delivery, the crew stated that they are a third party and do not install. They left the washer and dryer in my laundry room and left as fast as they could. When we unwraped the appliances we realized it came with a European plug, so now what. I called and called the 800 number....no answer. "

Lame Homedepot online service

"I would not recommend getting any online purchases from Homedepot. Since I ordered the grill on May 17, and in my resume of the order it says that it should arrive on May 26, and now on May 28, and there are no updates at all. Trying to call them the last 30 minutes and still waiting for an answer. If you want to buy something online, just be aware of the lame Homedepot service. They do not care about their customers. No updates :( Sad. I used to make a lot of purchases at Homedepot, maybe it's time to move on to another seller."

Given outside model instead of new

"I ordered a John Deere e120 mower online. Went to pick it up and when I got home realized it was an outside display model. Still had the advertising plaque on the hood and dirt accumulated on the deck. They had others in stock, but too lazy to uncrate. Didn't want a $2000 mower that had been sitting out in the rain!! Forget trying to call! The local store (Omaha #3201) NEVER answers their phone, and the national number always has a wait time of 30+ minutes. Unfortunately, Lowes doesn't sell the e120. Buy your mower somewhere else if possible!!"

Horrible e-commerce experience.

" I've worked in high-volume e-commerce for 20 years, and Home Depot seems to be in the dark ages. My first order arrived with WAY more light bulbs than I ordered, which was OK for me but pretty weird. My next order, for 2 gallons of patio sealant, was a farce. One gallon arrived, but the second was damaged in shipment and not delivered. No notification from Home Depot (I had to call and wait to get info). They could not resend the one gallon, only give a refund (huh??), which of course put me under the free shipping threshold when I reordered the single gallon. Same story with my new order, damaged in shipment and not delivered with no notification from Home Depot. I'm on the phone with an "up to 30 minute" wait time right now, and over 2 months after my original order I still don't have my sealant. It feels like Home Depot is 10+ years behind in their e-commerce capability. Being able to process data about failed delivery attempts from carriers should be standard, as should the ability to simply reship an item that was never delivered. The amount of time and energy I'm spending on this order personally is outrageous. "

Do not order online from Home Depot

"It's my first time order online May 10 2020. I ordered a sprinkler and requested to pick up at Woodstock location. Home Depot charged my credit card for the product they don't have it. I requested to cancel the order and had my payment refund. The store said I had to cancel from online; however, the online has no choice for cancel. The phone number showing online either automatic hang up or no one answer. If you leave your call back number, there is no one will call you back. "

"Went to the home depot in Bethel Park #4176 today found what I wanted then went to pay for it and they only had one cashier that could take cash. There was about 25 people ahead of me, What kind of store will not take cash? So I just put the items on the floor and walked out. Went about 5 miles to the one that I always go to West Mifflin #4115 There was 3 cashier open and they all take cash, So West Mifflin is a five star. Will never go to #4176."

No More Online Shopping

"I ordered a shed on May 4th my in store delivery was supposed to be May 19th, the day came and gone and the order still sat at processing with no shipment. I called and waited 1 hr to talk to someone and then just to get a rep that didn't know anything, who put me on hold for another 20 minutes, then she submitted a case that I wanted my tracking which was not what I wanted I wanted my ordered cancelled. So next day I get an email stating my order has been delayed due to covid. Which in my opinion is not the case because they have had the same problem before covid19, so I called again and waited 1 hr to talk to a rep this time the lady seem to know more, but she was as useless as the one before her. She said I couldn't cancel my order that I had to wait till I pick it up and get a refund right there at the pick up station, which is stupid then hell. First off in their statement it states your order can not be cancelled if it has shipped, my order had not shipped at all, secondly they took out the money off my card but then it went back on my card. I decided to take matters in my own hands and called the bank I red flagged Home Depot and also turned off my debit card I told the rep I did so she than said it would cancel my order when they run it and it declined... "ding dong... that is what I have been wanting is my order cancelled! DUH!"...It takes me having to do that just to cancel the order. It made no sense to charge my card than put the money back on it when I went to the pick up station to reject the order, it's a waste of time and they are so up on covid they are making people go in person to do so when they could just cancel the order right off their end of the computer, makes me so ****. I will never order anything online again from them this was my first time and last time!!! It's May 21st and there is still no shipment! If they do not have things in stock they should not allow customers to order them. That simple!"
