"I ordered a American Drew Bed From Hometime in May 2011 to be delivered to Texas where I was moving in August. I told Jonathan that I counld not take delivery for 6 weeks. He said that would be the approximate time it would be delivered. 1 week later the shipping company called for delivery. They delivered the bed, but did not set it up because I was not there. I stated that the shipment included white glove delivery when I called the delivery guy to curse him out. Rather then argue, I had my contractor put it together. I'm sorry for the problems everyone has experienced. I received my bed but it seems like the business failed soon afterwards."

"I ordered our bed frame on 12/12/11. I was told, via email, that the time of arrival depended on if the item was in stock and available. Once they knew this info from the manufacturer, I then would hear from HomeTime. I wasn't paying very close attention to emails as we went into the Christmas season. However, first of Jan. it hit me that I had not gotten any new info from HomeTime. I re-looked at my emails to see if I'd missed one (NOPE), then tried to go to their website (GONE), and tried to call (NO ANSWER...and now, it says it is not an operating number). I immediatley called my credit card company to dispute charges. They have been looking into it. Just yesterday I received a request from our credit card's cardmember services to supply them with documentation that I had returned the merchandise and they needed verification the merchant received our return!! WHAT?!! Just got off the phone with a rep from our cr card and she pulled up our claim/dispute and told me they received a response from HomeTime stating they had SENT our furniture, and no refund would be given until we had sent it back. OH MY!!!
I assured the rep no furniture has arrived!!! Now I have to FAX to our cr card co. the only email communication I have from HomeTime (from the initial sale...), and I asked the rep if I could include a couple of web addresses (this one) they can look up to see that HomeTime has scammed many! I told the rep that I would send her a "real time" video of my current bedroom VOID of a bed frame...ha;) Please everyone take action (call the BBB, your cr card co., contact the attn. general?), these folks need to be held accountable!!

"DO NOT BUY FROM HOMETIME FURNITURE.COM The phone numbers and website have been shut down but those that have ordered furniture have been ripped off. I found out that there are 2 home time furniture comapnies on line. One is hometimefurniture.com and the other other is hometimefurnituredepot.com. I believe the one that has scammed everybody is the first one. But I do not have an address for the home time furniture because it was not posted on my email order. I did call hometimefurniture depot and the gentleman there said he was getting a lot of hate calls about non-delivery of furniture but he said it was not his company and his website and phone number are still on line. So if you make a complaint about home time furniture.com please contact the BBB in New York ***-***-**** and maybe we can possibly get a refund on our credit cards and put these creeps out of business"

"I ordered a sofa with this company on October 24,2011 in the amount of $665.10, at that time they withdrew the funds from my account saying that they were ordering the sofa from the manufacturer (broyhill) and that the sofa would be delivered within 4-6 weeks. In late December my sofa had still not arrived so I called them again and they told me that the sofa was completed and at the manufacturers warehouse but that the delivery company that they use was behind on orders so it would be shortly after the New Year (2012) that my sofa would be delivered. They also gave me a refund of $50.00 for the delay in delivery at this time. On January 14,2012 I tried to log onto the companies website and was unable to, at that time I just assumed that the website was down due to maintenance or something to that effect. Now I have tried to call them and get no answer and have tried to log on to the website several more times and the site has been taken down. BBB has issued a statement saying that the company has not returned any communication and does not appear to be in business any longer. Because my order was placed in October my bank is telling me that the 60 day time limit has lapsed for me to be able to file a dispute with them against my debit card. broyhill says that they are unable to tell me anything and that they will only deal with the furniture company directly, well DUH!!! I realize that is your normal process but if they are MIA how do you expect me to have them contact you?? I am also filiny with the NY ATT GEN, Who else should I be filing with? I have never had to deal with this kind of thing before..."

"I was also ripped off by Hometime Furniture. I agree too bad you can't give them zero stars!! They have not delivered their merchandise I ordered in November!!!! Up til now I could log in and at least see that while the furniture was not available for shipment, they were acknowledging my order. Now their website has disappeared and they no longer answer their phone. Since I could not get ahold of the company directly to find resolution for my issue I had to file a fraudulent claim with my credit card. I hope my credit card company is able to hold them accountable for their illegal actions!!!!!!!"

"Too bad Home Time Furniture can't be rated 0 stars! Looks like, as with so many others, I've been ripped off, too!

I researched them before ordering and they looked good at the time. The ordering process and what seemed to be professional sales and customer service didn't raise any red flags.

2-1/2 months ago, on 11/19/11, when I ordered an expensive piece of furniture, I was told the next day by John at hometimefurniture.com that it was backordered until 1/29/12 and I needed to pay them in order to 'hold' the item so they could ship it to me as soon as it was in stock again. Knowing it's not unusual for furniture to take a couple of months or more to be delivered after ordering, this didn't seem unreasonable. However, I wasn't willing to pay the total amount upfront, so we agreed on half then and the balance when it was shipped.

Well, that 'backorder' time has come and gone, and I haven't received my item or heard anything from them since they confirmed my order and the backorder date in emails.

Just prior to the backorder date, I've been attempting to contact them regarding the status of my order. Like other buyers on this and other sites, I haven't been able to get a response from them by email or phone...and there website has disappeared! The Better Business Bureau has also confirmed that they haven't been able to get a response by phone, email, or regular mail.

Seems like Home Time Furinture never returned from their holiday season 'vacation' on 1/2/12 as several burned buyers have reported.

Unfortunately, PayPal has denied my dispute claim because I didn't (and couldn't) file the claim within their 45 day limit for their Purchase Protection. Even after I explained that the item was 'backordered' beyond the 45 days and I couldn't get a response on my order's status after the 45 days from my order, PayPal suggested I contact the seller...what's up with that? Due to extenuating circumstances, I'm currently appealing their decision to deny my claim.

I've also contacted my bank who is authorized to transfer funds to PayPal for payment to sellers. The bank is investigating, even though they have a 60 day limit from the transfer of funds to file a claim...which was also missed due to the 'backorder' date. Hopefully, the bank will be able to help me recover the money paid to this merchant who appears to have stolen my money...and so many others.

I also intend to file a claim with the FBI Internet Crime Division, the NY State Attorney, NYPD, and the BBB, etc.

Good luck to all of you who have also been ripped off by Home Time Furniture. And, thank you to all of you who have reported your experience on this site. Your posts were the most helpful regarding this matter.

Let's continue to help each other by updating our experiences and progress on this invaluable site. (I'm not a Facebook member and do not want to be, so I'm not able to join that group who has been organized to document their experiences with Home Time Furniture.)

Hopefully, we will be able to recover the money this seller took from us without delivering what we bought in good faith...which, unless rectified, makes them thieves. So, if they don't make good on all of our orders 100%, let's do all we can to get them to be held responsible for their unconscionable, criminal actions by having them prosecuted and put in jail!

"People usually give 5 stars to a company when everything is perfect with their order. But what about when something goes wrong? Sometimes the true measure of a company’s value happens when you have an issue and need it resolved. This is where HomeTime Furniture really impressed me with excellent customer service and a commitment to make things right. They went above and beyond to give me a great experience and make sure any problems were fixed asap. I always got a friendly person on the phone and follow-up e-mails were always answered quickly and without error. Any online company can ship you piece of furniture cheap, but what separates Hometime furniture from the rest is their personal commitment to customer service. That’s what I value most, especially when you can spend thousands of dollars on furniture ordered online. Hometime furniture is everything you could ask for in an online company, and I would definitely do business with them again, 5 stars for Hometime Furniture!"

"I too have become a victim of this scam. I placed a $2188.00 order on 11/29/11. Checked their website periodically for a status update w/o any problems. Checked in today and could not access their website or their phone#. Apparently they are out of business and have thousands of dollars in unfilled orders. I called my VISA rep and she is going to file a dispute in hopes of getting my money back. We'll see."

"I also had a nightmare with Hometime Furniture. I don't think they are out of business (as stated on the Better Business Bureau web page: http:/www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/furniture-retail/home-time-furniture), but they should be. I know they are having financial problems as they would not pay their delivery company until I called the furniture manufacture and reported them. I ordered a table in August, 2011 and received it in January, 2012. I was originally told it would take 4-6 weeks. After that time, I was lied to over and over. They kept saying it was on the way and would be at my house in 2 weeks. Do not order from this company. I believe the owner, Al Carter, instructs his employees (and there were a few I spoke to) on how to put off customers. Terrible business!"

"This sucks. I ordered a Kendall TV console from Hometime furniture back on 11/28/2011. They charged CC three times which I had to call AMEX to deny the payments. Brad called and said that it was a mistake from there part. However, I was charged $666.00 for the product with the estimated delivery of 6-8 weeks. I have called them numerous times and also emailed to get the status. There has been no response. Also the phone is not been answered. Where can the compliant be filed for this company. Reading the reviews it seems that I am not alone. Any help is appreciated."

"I placed an order 2 December and was charged and paid off my credit card. Now it is January and I have no product, no delivery date, they won't answer their phone and their website won't come up.

Filed a dispute with the credit card company. I had checked their ratings before I ordered and at the time talked to a representative and all seemed fine. I am not sure what happened but do not order from them. If you already have I suggest you contact your credit card company and file a dispute.

"I too, think that I have been scammed! I started researching their website and found this website and now realize that I am not in the boat alone. After reading all of the reviews, I quickly called my credit card company to dispute the charges that Home Time Furniture charged my card. I ordered a wine rack for a Christmas gift back in mid December, recieved a confirmation email and have not heard from them since. I have called, no answer EVER, and emailed them, no response EVER! That was the reason for my suspicion. Glad I found these reviews and put in a dispute with my credit card company. GOOD LUCK to all of you out there that have been scammed by these people!"

"This really sucks. I placed an order on 8/31 so am not even sure my cc protects me. I never recieved the merchandise and when I called the furniture maker they said hometime never placed an order for the merchandise I ordered. The tricky thing is hometime gave me a timeline that was pushed back and I double checked with the vendor to confirm that the information they gave me was true and it was so I let it slide. What a shame. Luckily most people are not like this. Jonathan Morris of Hometime Furniture is a really good liar which may work for these sort of schemes but in the long run it will cheat him out of the good things in life like family, joy, and peace of mind. They may have stollen money from me but I am not going to let them steal my peace of mind or happiness. God Bless all of you whom they stole from. May you be restored double."
