WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!

"I placed an order with your company on the 11th, and was called on the 15th to verify some information before the order could be confirmed. In my mind, I was counting everyday, and not business days, as far as shipping. So, obviously, I was starting to get a bit frustrated with the amount of time it was taking. I realize now it was my mistake as far as the amount of time that it takes to receive my order. However, I was not a bit satisfied with the customer service I received today. I am unsure of who exactly I spoke with, but the beginning of our conversation was not good. Me being the customer who spent $1700 of my money with you, has every right to be upset when I believe something is not right. Instead of the representative calmly explaining to me, that it has not been 14 BUSINESS days, he got an attitude with me, and proceeded to condescendingly count the days on the calendar. And when I told him I didn't appreciate the attitude, he accused me of being hostile. Yes, I was a bit upset and frustrated and wasn't being the nicest person (which I am not proud of), but not once was I trying to be hostile. I never cursed, called names, or anything. I reacted the same way any other customer would have, if they believed there was something wrong with their order. I am not happy at all with how I was spoke to. I work in the service industry as a sports bar manager, so I deal with angry customers on a daily basis. But I NEVER get an attitude back with them. That is extremely unprofessional. It is #1 in business to remember, the customer is always right, even when they are wrong. The representative today, was not in any way professional with me. If I had it my way, I would get my money back and spend it else where just based on the interaction I had today. I realize I was in the wrong for misunderstanding the shipping process, but that by no means gives anyone the right to speak over me and with an attitude. If I remembered their name I would tell you, but I do not believe they told me. I have half a mind to leave a review on your website but decided to approach it through email first. I sincerely hope there is a notation on my account with who I spoke with. My order number is 64750. After I apologized for being angry and for misunderstanding, he did seem to calm himself as well, and mentioned contacting UPS to see if he could get my order to me sooner than Wednesday, but it was still the WORSE customer service I have EVER experienced. In the beginning of my purchase I was very excited I found your company, and knew I'd be ordering a lot more equipment from you in the future. (There are 2 lens I need, and will be purchasing soon) But based on the customer service today, I do not believe I will be ordering from Digital Outlets again. For the record though, in case you can see who I have spoken with, the representative I spoke with on the 15th to confirm my order, was amazing. He helped me very much, but again I cannot remember his name. Either way, today's representative, was not professional in the least. I am NOT A SATISFIED customer at the moment.

4/7 Update: Received my order not 14 business days later, but 17 business days later, but I am just happy I received my package. However, the "BRAND NEW Nikon D750" box had obviously been opened. (The tape had obviously been removed, leaving a sticky residue and part of the tape itself on the box) And there was no user manual in the box. The camera does seem to be in very good condition and seems to work fine. Have a session tonight I will get to try it out at. So we will see. The 50mm lens seems to be in good condition as well. I am just happy I finally got my camera. But still think the customer service with this company is absolutely terrible. And I DID NOT receive my package within in the 10-14 BUSINESS days as the website states. Still DO NOT RECOMMEND purchasing from this company. Therefore I will not be raising my stars.

Worst Experience in 10 years of Online Purchases

"3/15 Update: After leaving this review, I was told to contact digital outlets and I did so. They sent me an email giving me a $200 refund and would also be sending out a battery and memory card to me. That's fine. I was then asked to change this review from 1 to 5 stars and delete the entire posting below, only leaving "good customer service," as the review. Two hours later I get another e-mail asking me to update this review. Today (3/16) I received two missed calls from the customer service number, most likely wanting me to update this review. At this point, I would consider this harassment and it's not something a company -- ANY company, should do. If you want good reviews, you have to make the entire experience a good one. I'm not an unreasonable person - the only thing I asked for is an invoice, tracking number, and what I ordered -- nothing more and nothing less. I have changed this review from 1 star to 3 stars because they attempted to make things right. But if they keep calling me, I'll drop it back down and report them to BBB.

First, I found digital outlets on Google advertising $1500 some odd dollars for a Canon 5d Mark III. I thought it was a great deal, so I went ahead and purchased it on 2/22/16. A few days later, I received an e-mail stating I needed to contact customer service about my order. No big deal, I call in and was then advised that this model is actually the import model. Now, after looking on the page I found at the very bottom on the specs page that it says "imported model." Not in the title, not in the description -- hidden. Ok, fine, understandable and I proceed to say that I'd like to cancel. I'm offered a Canon 6d instead, as it is a comparable camera.

I ask how much, and I'm quoted "$1300" -- as I'm sitting in front of the computer, I immediately look at the camera and compare prices. I'm hesitant, as it's on Amazon for the same price and I have Amazon Prime (so I can get free shipping). I'm told that they'll throw in a "rapid battery kit" or something, "valued at about $200 for free." I'm skeptical, but the EXTRA battery would be nice. Fast forward to 3/3/16. I e-mail asking for a tracking number. No response. I called in on 3/7/16 and asked for an invoice and a tracking number. I'm told I'll receive an e-mail "in a few hours," at this point I'm starting to get irritated and just ask for the tracking number and write it down. They also tell me it will be delivered on Friday 3/11/16. I put in the tracking number and all it said is "label created," so I'm sitting there wondering whether or not the customer service rep was telling the truth or what is going on. I keep checking, still no change. Friday comes, no camera.

I call in on 3/14/16 and I want to cancel the order. The customer service rep tells me it's on the truck for delivery today, and I can return the camera if I want to but for a restocking fee of 10%. As I continue to explain the situation and my dissatisfaction, he cuts me off and talks over me. This is absolutely unacceptable. As he continues to talk about the return process and not letting me get in a word, I hang up. Fast forward about an hour, the camera finally arrives. I open the package and find an unsealed Canon 6d box. I'm thinking, okay at least I got the camera. In the box, a single battery. Did they not put in an extra battery with "rapid charger?" No, it's a single canon battery with generic charger. The 6d should include a single battery, and to my understanding another battery should have been included.

I take a look at the invoice and find $1553 charged to my card -- $1499 for the camera, and $54 for 7-10 business day shipping. I ordered this on 2/22. In short, the digital outlets rep that I talked to lied about the price, lied about the battery, and the customer service rep (I talked to the same one each time) was rude and inconsiderate. This is the very first time I've ordered outside a reputable website, and I don't think I will ever again. Their rating service is also a little shady, wanting you to give them a rating before you even get the product. I stupidly gave 5 stars given the price of the camera that I actually wanted. That will never happen again.

*** Be cautious when ordering from digital outlets. While my experience may be isolated, you never know what you're going to get when ordering from websites like this.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

"I warn people to stay FAR FAR FAR away from this company. They will try to not only scam you out of money but they are rude. I attempted to order a Canon camera from these people after seeing their name come up in a Google search. I thought that the price that they had for the camera was very competitive than other retailers but I was still skeptical because I never heard of them before. Once I placed the order, a couple of days later I get an email stating that I need to urgently call them and verify my order. I do so. This is where things get really suspicious. 1. The rep asked me for my CVV (code on the back of my card) 2. Then proceeds to aggressively up sell me. Telling me that the camera that I purchased was the Japanese model and I can get the US version with a battery pack for $200 more! (which is not mentioned on their site) Pointless! If I wanted that option I would have gone with a known retailer. Once I declined his offer he continued to press me to choose the extra $200 option. I realized that they try and pull the old bait and switch on the customer. I hung up and had a sneaky suspicion this place was full of crap. What do you know... there are SEVERAL complaints similar to mine on this site. I immediately called and cancelled and the jerk on the other line was REALLY rude. Save your time & money. Avoid this place at all costs. They need to be SHUT DOWN immediately!!! In all seriousness, I do not know how they are staying in business. "

"I ordered a camera lens recently. Apparently, I ordered a film lens instead of a digital lens. Since this is an uncommon lens to order these days, DigitalOutlets actually emailed me to confirm my order via the phone.

If they hadn't noticed the mistake, I would have ended up with a camera lens I didn't want. I also would have been left with no lens to take on my upcoming trip!

Stay away from them - most aggressive reseller, in my eyes.

"I ordered a camera from Digital Outlets on March 1st and they charged my card shortly after. They sent me an email 7 days later (today), stating that I had to verify my personal information before they would ship the camera (wanting me to have my ID available for them). I called them and they told me that the model that I had ordered would come with a Japanese operating system language, which was not stated on their homepage (I took screenshots). I said that that was an essential information that had been held back. They said that I could purchase something different or cancel at a 10% cancellation fee (in a very very aggressive way). I asked the guy not to yell at me, his name is Josh, and he said "that he can yell as much as he wants" and that it was my fault for not knowing about this issue. In the end of the call Josh said that I had 24 hours to let them know about how to proceed. That was at around 8.45 am PST. The "personal verification" which had been the actual reason for the conversation never took place. Fortunately I have a witness. Of course I decided to file for a dispute with my bank due to the entire event and this horrible aggressive sales strategy. After I had filed for the charge back with the bank I instantly emailed Digital Outlets at 2:15 pm PST today, so roughly 6 hours after the aforementioned conversation. I informed D.O. about the dispute and that the order was cancelled. They instantly send me a response back which simply blew my mind, quote: "Hello, We see your order was shipped today. You will be charged a 10% cancellation and 10% restocking fee." So they just decided to up the entire cancellation fee by another 10% even though I had responded way faster than within 24 hours. I answered that I would not accept that. Their resoponse, quote: "we have already forwarded your order with our terms and conditions to your bank, good luck ~~ You can call customer service if you have issues" I seriously have no words for these guys. My personal advice: I would not trust any positive review about them and never order anything from their page. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble by spending a few hundred bucks more to their competitors. I wish there was a below-zero-star option on this page - I would definitely use it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update - March 9th - one day after I reviewed Digital Outlets: ResellerRatings contacted me because Digital Outlets filed for removal of my review for the ResellerRatings policy #9, which is meant to protect companies from fake negative reviews. Removal might happen, if, quote: "the posting references an order, transaction, or another form of submission by the user, where an intent to do business or to make a purchase did not occur (limited to reviews posted within the previous twelve (12) months)". So, this is D.O.'s solution to the issue. Claiming that I had no intention to purchase the camera. I'm a TV Producer and I do photography as a side job. My intent was very clear to purchase the Canon EOS 5 D Mark 3. This is the first time in my life that I had to file for a dispute with my bank and that I'm reviewing a company this way. I'm in touch with ResellerRatings and will keep updating this review. Everyone enjoy! This will be interesting. ------------------------ Update: 03/21 : I have the whole amount of money back. I want to praise the support of Wells Fargo - well done! They sent me a letter telling me that the case was settled. Why all this stress, digitaloutlets?! ---------------- Update 03/22: they sent me an email via resellerratings regarding my previous update, quote: "No stress! Just over reaction on your part" - that was all. Again, I have no words. I also want to point everyone out to yelp where this company has only a ONE STAR rating. How can it be that it has 4 stars on here? Frankly, the positive reviews on here sound so very much fake to me, but if you want to gamble, give it a shot and order through them, but don't forget to learn Japanese while you're waiting on your camera. Excuse me, what a joke! You order a camera on an American site with American customer service and everything is in English, of course you as a customer can assume that the product you are ordering comes also in this language (no matter how good the deal might be). And claiming that "Import Models" come in foreign languages and the client should know that is nothing but scam - of course a camera from Canon is imported. I hope so! Scam, scam, scam and ueber-rude. "

I was robbed, out $300

"Here's my experience:
My wife bought a lens for xmas for me. They called her and convinced her to buy a more expensive lens on bogus arguments. They then sent a different lens that they offer for half the price what she paid. I called to complain, and after a very long wait for customer support, they were very rude. They ultimately gave me an exchange number and told me to send the lens in and I could replace it with something else. I sent in the lens. No response. I emailed them. No response. I called them. They said they never received the lense from me. I feel completely and utterly defiled by these guys. I am disgusted.

3/21/16 - The above was my original review back in February.

Customer support responded to my review. After much debate, they told me they would send a replacement lens if I agreed to amend my review to make it positive, which I did. Did I receive anything? Of course not. A couple of weeks ago I called to ask about it, and they said it should arrive by Friday, March 11. I just called again, and they said it went out last week. So it went out last week and it was supposed to arrive before they sent it?!? I asked for the tracking number. They said they would email it right away. Of course no email from them.

Pretty clear to me all the reviews about bait and switch were right (happend to my wife). Also, if there is a problem and you write a negative review, they will do what they can to have you change it, but then good luck to you.

This was my experience. Maybe you will do better. I will never do business with them again, and I will make sure everyone I know (yes, Google, Facebook, Twitter, everything I can think of) is aware this company is a ripoff.

I hope you can avoid the terrible experience I had. I'm out $300. I suggest you hold onto your wallet.

Customer support is horrible

"I called in for some clarification on my order and the guy on the line is very impatient. Also, they claim the tracking info will not be updated until 48 hours before delivery which is 12 day after they takes the money from your account. It makes no sense. The price is very low. I am now concerned about if my $2000+ order will eventually be delivered on time with the correct items. Will edit my review after 02/24/2016, when I am supposed to receive the order, according to their customer support.

Update:
Today I finally got the package. Everything is delivered as expected. Camera and lens are brand new and the prices were really low. Change the rating from 1 star to 4 stars. (-1 due to slow shipment and unfriendly customer service)
