Avoid these scam artists

"I'm normally cautious about buying from NY camera stores and check addresses before I order. However, after checking the only phone number I could find for DigitalOutlet.net (310 area code is in LA) I went ahead and ordered a lens from this crew for which they went ahead and charged my credit card a few days later. When it didn't turn up after a few days I gave them a call. They said that they had been trying to email me and needed "confirmation" of the order. Since there was no email anywhere on the server, including the spam, the only way emails could have been blocked would be if they were trying to spoof their address. In any case, I was told the lens should be there two days later. Of course it never turned up. So a week later I phoned again and was given the exact same story, except an email (to an alternate address) would be sent with the tracking info. Neither the lens nor the email turned up. Once again I call back. The guy on the phone, who is very rude by the way, says it will be here next week. So again I asked for the tracking number and he says it will be provided 48 hours before delivery. So obviously it had still not been shipped at that point. Without any good arguments to fall back on, just lame excuses, the guy finally says, "OK I'm canceling your order and recalling it from UPS." Obviously complete BS. Bottom line is that they had my money for 4 weeks and the evidence points to them never having shipped anything. I filed a dispute with the CC company and will mark it up to experience. Take my advice and avoid these scammers like the plague."

Great Service!

"I had ordered what I thought was a dslr lense, but was a 33mm. Customer service called me to make sure that this was what I wanted, and when I realized it was the wrong item, they gave me the option of ordering the correct item (and quoted the price, which was very competitive) or canceling the order. They waived the cancellation fee, sent me an email confirmation, deleted my credit card info from their system, and my payment, which had already been processed, was refunded and deposited back into my account within 2 days.

The representative had questioned this and held up my order until I called in to confirm that it was the right or wrong lens since it is not usually ordered. Worst Customer Service Ever

"I've read several review from this seller and they all seem to be the same. They sell you something at a very low price, then ask you to call them stating there is a problem with your order. happened to me and several other people. I purchased a Nikon D3200 for $279.00 I knew the price was too good to be true so I called and asked if this was refurbished or anything was wrong. Why was it so cheap. They said it is a new in the box. I placed my order only to be called a week later to verify my order. I called, I was told "this is an import model" again, no clear mention of this on their listing. He said it does not include a batter or charger and offered me a Nikon batter and charger for a "great price of $200.00" EACH!! I said no way am I paying that. I was placed on hold and he talked to his manger and said, we want to do things right so we can drop the price down to $70.00 each for the charger and batteries. In my mind I was thinking Wow how can they just drop the price so much. I agreed and he said he upgraded my shipping to 3 Day shipping for Free.

A few days later I call and ask for a tracking number. I was given a tracking number which for one week showed no type of movement at all!! it only said "tracking label created" I called back and asked what is going on. The very rude customer service rep told me the item had shipped and was returned to them by UPS. I asked what was the reason for the return, "I don't know" he replied. At this point I was getting frustrated and was demanding a clear answer as to why they could not provide information on the tracking. This person was rude and said "I know how UPS works, and when I say I don't know why the package was returned It means I don't know!" I asked to speak to the manager. Next words out of his mouth "I AM THE MANAGER!!!" In a very loud tone. I was shocked and I really did not have anything else to say. I said you aver rude and I am never going to do business with you. He said "THANK YOU" and hung up. Now it seems the package is finally on the way. NEVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. THEIR LISTINGS ARE CONFUSING AND DISHONEST.

"Wow....they suspected something was amiss with my order and asked me to call to confirm. Sure enough, user error on my end. They saved me the hassle and aggravation of receiving the order, then having to go through a return process. Pro-active, not reactive customer service -- Will definitely order from them again!!"
