"Horrible, horrible, horrible. After ordering 2 costumes and paying for 3 day shipping I found out on the day before it was due to be delivered 1 was not in stock and the other had not shipped. They had a different size that would work so I ordered it, they were supposed to send both costumes next day air and waive additional shipping. The 2 costumes were origionally $41, that was billed to my card, the costume that was instock they billed an additional $26, then the costume that they changed size they billed an addtional $44 and told me to return the other one--that had never shipped--for a refund. Then they didn't even ship the one costume next day so I had 1 arrive and 1 didn't. I am refusing receipt and am now in the process of trying to work with my credit card to get all the charges refunded.
Oh, and their phone number says it has been changed about 1/2 the time and if you get thru the other 1/2 time you wait on hold for 2 hours.
Now the costume that was supposed to be here on the 27th is due to arrive nov 1st

"TERRIBLE. i purchased fast shipping on my order. got confirmation email that states date of delivery and confirmed my order was in stock. waited, waited, and waited. no package. called to see "where is my order" they replied "ooops". thats it. "sorry but your order is out of stock". there was no communication from the company, they did not notify me and when asked to speak to a supervisor, he just said "thats the way we do business" then hung up on me like a ground floor employee. JUST A TERRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS"

"BEWARE... DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! THEY WILL TELL YOU AN ITEM IS IN STOCK UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE ALREADY PLACED THE ORDER. ""DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!!! My child almost ended up without a costume for Halloween!! I placed the order and received confirmation and my credit card showed a pending transaction for the amount. On the day that we were supposed to receive the costume which is only 3 days before Halloween I come to find out that the order did not even get shipped supposedly because the billing zip code was different from the shipping zip code. For some unknown reason Costume Craze decided not to notify me about any of this!!! And, what was absolutely ridiculous is the reaction I got from the customer service department supervisor! After waiting on hold for 40 minutes, the superviser was rude and made it very clear that they could not care less about me as a customer. I ended up ordering from another site and had to pay crazy charges for overnight shipping! I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering from Costume Craze! ""

"I have the SAME problem as the previous reviewers. Ordered 3 costumes on the 13th of October. 2 of them in stock and due to ship on the 14th, when my credit card was billed. Cancelled the 3rd costume as it was backordered. When I checked on shipping on Saturday the 22nd, had not left warehouse. Called and spoke with someone who said they would expedite shipping so it would be here on the 27th (my daughter's Halloween parade is on the 28th in the morning). Checked again yesterday--not shipped. Called...after speaking to someone who spoke to her supervisor and an hour long process, guaranteed it would be to us next day air on Thursday. Checked today...after 2 1/2 hours of trying to get a hold of someone, told that OOPS, they don't have EITHER costume but they'll give me a refund. Meanwhile, NO ONE has either costume that I could have purchased weeks ago and I have one day to find it. PLEASE, EVERYONE, file a report with Better Business Bureau. I am all in for a class action lawsuit, but, of course, will never happen! They have had lots of news stories...SOMEONE SHOULD REPORT THIS TO THE NEWS...what a great story for them, Halloween horror, and perhaps Costume Craze would get a little of the stress they have caused!"

"OH NO! After NOT receiving my order today when they said it would arrive, and after going around and around on their website trying to get further information (Track your order? NOT! Live Chat?? NOT!), I sent an email to their customer service and then decided to look online for reviews. My experience thus far matches every other disgruntled person's post on this website. I'm so angry and disappointed right now I could scream. This order was for my 8 yr old daughter's school presentation. I have learned my lesson...look for reviews *before* I place my online order with an unknown company and pay extra for rush shipping!!

A note of follow-up: I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau...Costume Craze has an A+ rating with them!

10/27 update: I was able to finally get someone to respond to a "live chat" and the person was very polite and nice and cancelled my order (or said he would). Transcript as follows:

Timothy: Hello, how may I assist you?

Me: Hi Timothy, I'd like a status update on my order please. order #1998633

Me: I was supposed to receive the order yesterday and nothing arrived

Timothy: My apologies. It seems like there was a delay with the order, and hasn't left. If you would like, I can refund you $9 in the shipping and put a rush on this order to have it deliver tomorrow. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Me: tomorrow is too late. my daughter's school presentation is tomorrow morning. would you please cancel the order?

Timothy: I can do that for you. I am so sorry for the troubles. I will send an e-mail confirmation of the cancellation to you.

Me: thank you very much timothy

Timothy: No problem. I apologize again for not meeting your expectations with your order.

"I wish I would have read the reviews!! I ordered my Alice costume and a Mad Hatter hat for my boyfriend on October 13th. The website said that the packing slip was printed on the 14th. Then none of the steps after that were completed. We were planning on wearing our costumes last night at our University's Halloween carnival, tonight at the church youth group/college costume party, and this weekend at the haunted house. Now we have nothing to wear and only costume craze to thank for it. They charged my account $50 and I have received nothing. Oh and in reference to their answering machine, my call is obviously NOT important to you!"

"I just reported them to the better buisness bureau online, it only took a few minutes, these people shouldn't get away with how they've treated all of us. I think everyone should take 5min and do the same please.I ordered my costume two weeks agao I should've gotten it a week ago, most likely I will have to go buy a costume somewhere else, wish I read the reviews, I tried calling them and there answer machine is full and it says my costume is still in utah....I live in massachusetts.......DO NOT BUY from them they suck!"

"Not only have I not received the costume I ordered, but I have tried for 3 days to get a customer service person on the phone with no success. My package is 6 days late and the event I needed it for is tomorrow. I have left messages and sent an email via their web site, but have gotten no response to either. I simply get a message on their phone system stating that "customer service is not available". I agree - they definitely are NOT available."

"Do NOT use this company. They have no idea what they are doing. I talked to customer service over the phone and through email when I saw there was no tracking information for my order, status listed as delivered the day after I ordered and a week after I ordered my costume, the costume was listed as out of stock and coming soon. Both customer service reps told me there was nothing wrong with my order and that is was on it's way. Well today was the last day quoted for it to arrive and I talked to live chat and guess what... my order was never in stock and never sent but I was charged and nobody bothered to tell me I wouldn't be getting my costume! To get the same costume elsewhere in time shipping alone will be $39."

"HORRIBLE !!!! Do not order from this shady company. I really wished i had read the reviews. I saw the cheap price and thought i was getting a good deal. What a mistake. I ordered my newborn's coustume on Oct.13, 2011 and i called today the 24 and was told that my otem was shipped on saturday, then the guy said it wasnt shipped cuz it was out of stock, I then asked for the order to be cancelled and he then stated that my order was already packaged and he couldn't cancel order. I then asked how it is packaged when you just stated my order was out of stock? He the said it was not his problem and hung up on me. I have filed a claim with my credit card company. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE !!!"

"I ordered 3 costumes. One came fairly quickly but had dirt around the face of the costume. I posted a review on the company website and later checked to see if it was posted and they did not post it. I ordered the other two costumes at the same time (10/5) and still have no confirmation from the company on (10/24). I have tried to cancel my order. I may be getting back on here later to post another review. I don't understand why they charge you for a pre-order before they even get it in stock? I will never do business with this company again"

"Despite the site STILL saying the product I ordered is IN STOCK, it apparently isn't. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and was just notified it was out of stock when I contacted them to find out if it had shipped since I had not received anything. (I emailed them a week ago and their site says they respond in 24-48 hrs). On top of that, I had to pay EXTRA shipping to get the other costume I ordered delivered before Halloween because they still have not shipped it due to one item being "out of stock". I will not be ordering from this company again."

"Terrible experience. I ordered and paid for my costumes on September 25th, two of which were on pre-order. I had selected the option to have the entire order sent to me when the pre-order items become available. On 10/15 I sent an e-mail requesting that they send the items currently available and to cancel the pre-order items if they cannot ship by 10/21. I received a response confirming they will send the available items, which were not the ones that were confirmed to be available at the time of my order. On 10/21 I still don't have my order so I give them a call and was told the items shipped on 10/17 and that I will receive a refund for the pre-order items that I will not receive. Shortly afterwards, I receive an e-mail saying I will get my partial refund when the "returns" are received. The problem is, they will not receive any returns because they never sent those items! They ignored my follow up e-mail to confirm this. Today 10/22, I get a UPS ship notice saying the items were shipped today 10/22 and are estimated to arrive 10/26, a day late for my party! I think a class action lawsuit is called for. "
